"A feeble human mind after a few Bud Light Platinum discovers a lost console with advanced interactive abilities. New secrets are discovered... healthy ring modulator. There is so much more to go.

Get your best headphones or subwoofer to hear it. The juicy 16' bass keeps me at the lower keys. Not my fault, this keyboard sounds like nothing else. The neighbors 1 acre away love it too.... bwahahahaaaaa.

Hissy background noise is from the CS-80 as there is clipping, modulation of higher frequencies I suspect exists in the preamplifier board where optical gain stages are. Too much gain at times. Hope to correct it when I cross that bridge.

No foot pedal or other hidden inputs. All musical expression is by the 61 independent key pressure sensors responding to my individual finger pressure."

Minimoog #4766 Demo

YouTube Uploaded by davidbarnhart on Mar 11, 2012

"Showing some of the classic analog sounds of an early-era Minimoog synthesizer"

via this auction

"Beautiful, fully-working Moog Model D Minimoog. This thing sounds amazing. It contains the much sought-after "old oscillator" boards, considered by many to be beefier than those found in the later Minimoogs. The envelopes are snappy and punchy, the oscillators are thick and luscious, and the filter is 100% genuine Moog. No other compliments or descriptions needed on that last one.

The keyboard mechanism has been freshly serviced and feels brand new. Two common problems happen to classic 70's keyboards (whether Moog, Oberheim, Sequential, Arp, etc). First, the contacts get dirty with dust and years of grime, leading to squirrelly pitch fluctuations, inconsistent notes and generally a very unsatisfying playing experience. Second, small rubber pads inside many of the classics are beginning to dry up, deteriorate and fall apart. The keys develop a loud clapping sound and begin to feel clunky in a cheap way. In extreme cases, the rubber falls out of place and the vertical height of the keys are uneven. Luckily, the keyboard mechanism on this Minimoog has been serviced to avoid both problems. All contacts have been carefully cleaned, and the rubber bushings have all been replaced with new ones. This keyboard plays like it just rolled out of the Moog factory in New York.

The serial on this synth is 4766, and it was built in May, 1974 (see the picture of the assembler/inspector initials inside the case) when Moog was operating out of Williamsville, New York. Moog made three revisions to their oscillator boards over the years. The first version was highly unstable but considered to give the thickest sound. They quickly redesigned and created a much more stable board that wasn't nearly as affected by temperature/humidity. Toward the late 70s, Bob Moog made the final redesign, bringing even more stability to the board. Unfortunately, the general feeling is that this last revision has the least preferable oscillator sound. This synth received the second revision, which is the best compromise between stability while still retaining that monster Minimoog sound."

Monophonic After-touch Key Pressure Sensor Kit For Pratt-Read Keyboards

SCI Pro-One Aftertouch

YouTube Uploaded by FeedingTimer on Mar 10, 2012

via this auction
"You are looking at a monophonic After-Touch Key Pressure Sensor Kit designed for install into generic Pratt-Read keyboard actions used in vintage analog keyboard music synthesizers produced by manufactures such as ARP, OBERHEIM, MOOG and SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS. This product is designed to replace the Modulation Wheel function. You won't need or want a modulation wheel once you've tried this product! Available in standard 37 key action. 49 and 61 key actions available for an additional $40 and $80 dollars respectively...

Center underneath the front of the keyboard as shown in the photos, peel and stick into place. Replace the 3 Modulation Wheel electrical connections with the 3 AfterTouch Sensor connections. Dry fit it first a couple times. You will likely need to carefully adjust the metal tabs to even out key actuation. Generally the metal tabs of the black keys may need to be lowered for even key-key actuation results. See key actuation photos. All Pratt-Read Keyboard applications may not be the same, there may be some mechanical adjustments required for your specific installation. Keyboard electrical connections may also vary from synthesizer to synthesizer so you may have to adjust for that as well. Please refer to the schematic and photos to determine suitability for your specific application!"

Rare WEM HAND-FULL

via this auction

"This is an Ultra Rare Synth Model From WEM / Watkins electric Music Limited The serial No. is 00036 and I've not been able to ascertain how many where ever made. There is hardly mention of them on the internet but for a clip from an old Brochure. And the Effect makes an appearance on the cover artwork of Pink Floyds Ummagumma Album link

There is an Adjustable Strap which holds the box n your hand your fingers then have control of the 4 buttons on the top which Generate four Very Deep Sub Bass tones Combining the Buttons in different Orders Produces Variations of notes. Next there is the BASS Dial which controls the Volume of these tones The RAVE dial acts both as the On/Off Switch and Over all Volume for the rest of the Effects

PERCUSSION
These four Buttons each emit a short Mid range tone Something like and 808 Conga Sound only sharper

FREAKOUT
1 hi pitch Oscillation / 2 White Noise / 3 Long siren That descends and ascends on removal / 4 Shorter Siren Like Sound

PSYCHEDELIA
1 hi piercing Sound / 2 sounds Like a bee / 3 Hi Mid Oscillation / 4 Another Variation on Oscillation pressing various buttons together or holding one down whilst you play others produces variations of effects and Analog Sound to my ears it's not that removed from something you'd expect of Arp Synths of that Era lots of Sharp sounds

Inside the Box each Button is attached to it's own very Dense Circuit board each button is it's own tone generator, there is allot of Circuit inside!

When i got this not all the Buttons where working and i soldered a few wires that had come loose and gave it a good spray of circuit Cleaner. I also replaced the output Cable as the old one had deteriorated. The New Cable has a female 1/4 Jack on it so you can extend the reach of the box. I did not do anything else to it apart from installing fresh batteries.

The Wem Hand-full is powered by an old style A136 9.0V Alkaline battery One of which i've placed in the photo so you have an idea. These are available from this supplier http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk It is quite Possible that you could wire in the adapter for a modern 9v Battery i did not do this as i wanted to keep the box as untouched as possible There is one batteries inside the machine now but it's running low!"

New From Hinton Instruments - The ModMix & GH1

via Hinton Instruments

"ModMix is an 18HP Euro synthesizer compatible module comprising two 4:1 audio/CV mixers, two linear multipliers (balanced modulators) with AC/DC coupling and a white and pink noise source. Sum and difference outputs are also available. Consider it like a Minimoog centre mixer with a ring modulator, then doubled. ModMix may be used anywhere to expand the number of audio or modulation inputs on any module. You can never have enough ModMixes…"

Shipping now, direct sales only: £295 (+VAT in EU).

The GH1 Precision Amplifier is a microphone/line amplifier in Eurocard module format. Developed and refined for Graham Hinton’s own studio and live recordings the transformerless amplifier is of the highest specification with many features for the professional user where there is only one take and downtime is not an option. Up to fourteen 6HP standard modules will fit in a 3U Eurocard rack with rear mounted PSU and multiway connectors. Non-standard phantom voltages may be provided, including T-Power. Each module has two independent line drivers intended for recording and monitoring. Pairs of modules may be used for M/S decoding or encoding, fixed or switched, and in this mode one output preserves the input, enabling M/S recording and L/R stereo image monitoring.

Other features include soft phantom switching, dual input impedance and our CLEAR led bargraph display. The GH1 is built like professional audio used to be, not like “prosumer” audio is now. Maintenance has been carefully considered and all ICs are socketed and modules may be hot swapped live in the unlikely event of failing during a recording.

The extended 10HP module is a customised version for integrating into synthesizer systems with the meter voltage brought out as a control voltage.

Prices are from £300 per module plus enclosure, PSU, connectors and wiring. E.g. a 12 channel system would be about £4500 (+VAT in EU) depending on connectors or <£400 per channel. Configured to order, 4-6 weeks delivery."

Jean Jacques Perrey Interview on Astronauta Pinguim

"Jean Jacques Perrey was born on January 20, 1929 in a small village in the north of France. When he was 4 years old, Santa Claus brought him his first accordion (on Christmas Eve, 1933) and, after that, he was possessed by a "little demon of music", as he says. In 1952 while attending medical school in Paris he met George Jenny, inventor of an innovative musical instrument called Ondioline. This contact with Georges Jenny was only the first of a series of meetings with personalities who passed through the life of Jean Jacques Perrey and that somehow have marked his whole career. Because of his enormous talent to play the "ondioline", he was invited by the famous singer Edith Piaf to take part in her shows - as a musician, playing the Ondioline..."

Dedicado a mi amiga Carmen, con la que comparto una gran afición por esta serie y por muchas más cosas."
