This Synth Has Soul – Sequential Fourm Ambient Performance
video upload by Sineway
"I didn’t expect a dry, mono analog synth to sound alive. But the Sequential Fourm has something different - I'd go as far as saying it has a soul.
This performance is completely free-form: no tempo, no MIDI. I built a flute-like patch that reacts to touch in unpredictable, musical ways and just recorded it in one take. It's using polyphonic aftertouch, but there's something else going on that seems to come from the filter feedback and envelope.
Reverb and delay were added in Ableton to bring it all to life. I then recorded a couple of other layers in the same way, all from the Fourm.
❤️ Support my work and download the flute patch used in this jam by joining the Patreon community: / sineway
► Synth: Sequential Fourm
► Reverb and Delay: Ableton's Hybrid Reverb and Air Delay Pro
► Recorded live, no quantization, no midi
► Genre: Ambient? (Let me know if I'm off here - it's my first in this genre!)"
HiChord — Tiny Synth, BIG Sound | Unboxing & First Jam
video upload by Pocket Trax
Black model in previous posts here.
"Meet the HiChord, a pocket-sized synth that proves tiny gear can sound massive.
In this unboxing and first jam, I dive straight into its sound engine — exploring joystick chord control, dual-track looping, built-in drums, and that surprisingly big tone packed into a solid aluminium case.
🎛️ Highlights:
• Dual-track looper for live layering
• Expressive joystick for chord control
• Built-in drums & rechargeable LiPo battery
• MIDI in/out + USB-C connectivity
• Premium, ultra-compact metal design
🎧 Watch as I layer loops, experiment with its unique modes, and push this little synth to its limits — it’s way more powerful than it looks.
If you’re into pocket synths, grooveboxes, or mini studio setups, the HiChord might just become your next obsession.

See if you can spot the Matrix-6 screen. I think that was accident. Capturing it for posterity. :)
"A towering icon of analog synthesis! Nicely restored, beautifully preserved, and built to tour or record for another lifetime.
This Oberheim Matrix-12 is in very good condition, has been restored by Rosensound, with some recent restorations performed by synth legend and former Oberheim engineer Marcus Ryle. It comes in a new, custom-built, heavy-duty flight case. It’s a US version, upgraded with a new control panel overlay from Sweet Discrete (UK) for a clean, sharp aesthetic. Everything functions beautifully; a truly top-shelf example of one of the most powerful analog polysynths ever built.
Cosmetic notes: the Sweet Discrete panel overlay LED registration is a bit off in a few places, so some LEDs look slightly off center (as shown in an included close-up image). Performance is not affected. The new overlay generally looks beautiful, but not strictly 10/10. There is also some stubborn tape residue on a few of the keys which can also be seen in the photos.
Details:
12 voices, each with 2 analog oscillators, multimode filter, and extensive routing
Legendary 96-point modulation matrix; no menus, just raw power
Velocity and pressure sensitivity, 5-stage envelopes, and complex LFOs
Massive analog presence with surgical control
US voltage model (no step-down needed)
New road-ready flight case included, $600+ value
Restored by Rosensound and Marcus Ryle, two of the most trusted names in analog synth servicing
New Sweet Discrete panel overlay from the UK; clean, legible, and sharp
Used by Hans Zimmer, Keith Emerson, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, and countless electronic pioneers, the Matrix-12 is the pinnacle of analog polyphonic design; often called “the last great analog monster.”
30% of this sale supports the Bob Moog Foundation, preserving the history of synthesis and inspiring future creators."

AD ENVELOPE + VCA WITH A BITE | ADDAC System - ADDAC816 Percussion VCA
video upload by DANIELE
"The ADDAC816 Percussion VCA by ADDAC System is a voltage controlled amplifier featuring an integrated AD envelope with a fast attack and adjustable decay, perfect for creating precise and dynamic percussive sounds!"
0:00 Intro
0:24 Envelope gain
1:08 Decay knob and time switch
2:05 Envelope input behavior
2:33 VCA input
2:46 Patch 1
4:02 Patch 2
5:05 Patch 3
"While deep in its soul there’s a standard VCA with exponential response that can be used as such, in its heart pulses an AD envelope with a sharp attack and a variable decay internally connected to the VCA control input. When it opens its mouth it can whisper in your ear but don’t let this soft demeanor fool you, if driven to the extreme it will show its teeth and gnarly bite and chew on your cochleas with all its might.
The AD envelope has a fixed short Attack, just enough to avoid the typical “click” that happens when using a Gate signal to control a VCA, while the envelope Decay can be controlled via its knob or voltage controlled using the CV input and attenuverter.
We named it Percussion VCA as most percussion intruments have sharp attacks with variable decays just as its AD Envelope however it can be used for any purpose where a VCA is needed including for CV signals due to it’s DC coupled signal path.
Furthermore it also allows to be driven from a simple Gate signal while controlling its decay. This way it’s easy to plug a noise source, vco or any audio and turn that source into a percussive element."

"Kraakdoos (aka Cracklebox) is an experimental electronic musical instrument designed by Michel Waisvisz in the 1970s.
This device allows you to produce sound by completing the circuit with your fingertips — each touch creates a different tone, intensity and character.
This version, revived with VAEMI's modern design, features:
• Transformer-isolated line output,
• Internal speaker and external output option,
• LM709 op-amp based analog circuit,
• 9V battery operation.
All PCB and electronic components of the synthesizer you see in the picture will be provided to you as part of the workshop fee. You just need to come to the lesson without bringing anything with you. We will also provide the necessary materials such as a soldering iron, solder, flux, speaker, battery. If you have done a few soldering jobs before, these lessons may be perfect for you. At the end of the lesson, you will have your assembled synthesizer. At the beginning of the lesson, you will be given all the electronic components and a set of schematics and our synthesizer. Relevant notes will be distributed. After introductory topics such as "What is electricity?", "Basic information about the electronic materials used", and "Reading schematics", we will proceed step by step on the synthesizer, section by section, understanding how each section works. At the end of the lesson, we will all be playing our synthesizers together.
During the workshop, participants will build their own Crackleboxes, learn the electronic structure of the device, and finally take home their own instrument. 🎶

"It's funny how music for science fiction movies has changed over the years: Back in the 1950's the movie 'Forbidden Planet' was noted for it's out-of-this-world music that was played on non-musical electronic instruments - instruments designed more for laboratory and experimental use.
Later in the 1960's science fiction music was more about rhythmic beeps and weird tingling sounds - the beeps probably inspired by the radio signal that the Soviet satelite Sputnik send down to earth while it circled the globe outside the atmosphere.
Later science fiction music was more about lush classical arrangements with some electronic sound effects added.
This piece of music is from the late 1960's and it falls in the beep-and-tingling category. It is written by the Danish organ player Peter Erling but I don't know exactly when it was recorded as there are no indications on the album and both the record company and Erling himself has been dead for decades. I transcibed the music myself and I found some close-enough Sputnik effects on my old Wersi Comet organ."
