Whimsical Raps Atrium -CALC- Brass Bahnd in the Lobby - Atrium as desktop module with Launchkey
video upload by -CALC-
"Today's etude d'Atrium. Using it a a 5 voice analogue desktop synth controlled by a Novation Launchkey in Chord Map.
Atrium is a wonderful, complete and comprehensive instrument that sits very well on it's own terms.
But it can also be an incredible desktop module with functions, features and most importantly timbres that are totally unique.
Here it is simply using the FM synthesis mode to provide 5 voices of lovely analogue sawtooth sweetness FM only comes in later. Halfway through the looping envelopes activate to bring natural articulations to each of the 5 voices. As a (lapsed) trombone player it gives me great joy to hear how close to a trombone ensemble this comes. The chords are being fed from a Novation Launchkey Mini 37 with pads set to the superb Chord map with adventure and exploration set high. So much work went into developing and curating the chord map and its a joy to use, even for one fingered musicians.
I would say that 2026 has easily been the year of the Atrium in my world, and its only been the first year of Atrium in my world. It won't stop there either.
What an instrument Whimsical Raps have managed to bring into the world.
......It has my heart"
The Digitakt II and Outbox 8 Are Perfect Companions
video upload by EZBOT
"The Digitakt II is my favorite sampler I own, I absolutely love it. Now that I have Outbox 8 on the table, I am constantly trying to find the perfect way to utilze external effects for individual tracks. It's truly a journey. I recently found a cheap mixer that I can use to sum outputs post-fx, it feels like it's finally starting to come together. Let's dive in and chat about it, maybe make some tunes while we are at it."

A Unique Eurorack Multi FX Design // FUM by Nano Industries
video upload by DivKid
"Here's FUM from NANO Modules which is a Eurorack Multi FX module with a simple, easy to use interface and powerful unique design for combining and performing with multiple FX running at the same time. There's DJ style filtering, noise and texture generators, pitch shifting, two delay flavours, chorus, flanger, reverb ... all the good stuff and there's on board modulation LFOs and stepped random too! As usual loads of examples and techniques, all in the timing index below skip around and enjoy the video."
Six stereo effects, direct control. Delay, Reverb, Pitch, Chorus/Flanger, Texture and a Color filter. Each on a single bipolar control, where the centre is off and each direction opens a different character. An internal Motion modulator animates them all while you play and everything is under CV.
Key features
- Delay: Ping-pong repeats, clock-syncable, with three time ranges. Feedback runs clean one way, or distorted the other.
- Reverb: A natural Hall one way; Gated the other.
- Pitch: an octave up into shimmer, or an octave down for weight.
- Chorus / Flanger: chorus thickens, flanger sweeps. Rate follows your delay tempo.
- Texture: white noise or granular grit, rising and falling with your audio signal.
- Color: DJ-style filter across the whole mix: low-pass one way, high-pass the other.
- Motion: Internal LFO or Sample & Hold that animates the effects you have opened. One knob sets type, speed and depth at once.
- Freeze: Holds the delay and sustains the reverb indefinitely. Keep playing on top.
- 6 CV inputs + Clock input: fully patchable.
- RGB LEDs for every parameter, with clip warning.

What If The Machines? A sound installation for modular synthesizers
video upload by Insect O.
"A sound installation for modular synthesizers, inspired by Tod Barton's Krell Patch and extended with a variety of voices.
An autonomous system that generates sound on its own. Human removed. No direct intervention, no conventional performance. Only the rules defined by the patch remain, shaping an evolving sonic landscape that unfolds beyond human control.
What happens when machines are left to create their own sound worlds? Where does composition begin, and where does it end? What role does the human play in a composition that emerges from a system designed to operate independently?
What is analog? What is digital? And where do the boundaries between the two dissolve?
What if the Machines? explores the relationship between human intention, algorithmic structures, and autonomous sound generation, questioning the role of the composer in a world where machines become the performers.
Installation held at Felicità Festival Kühlhaus Görlitz 2026"

Everything is Fine by Runningonair
“Everything is Fine” is the latest collection of work from the electronic music producer Joe Evans (Runningonair). The album reflects both aspects of the creeping dystopia that world is slipping in to and the mental health challenges that such an environment produces. The album could best be described as instrumental, but does contain large amounts of synthetic voice narration, perhaps reflecting a gradual de-humanistion of society. More than any previous work, the lyrics carry a large proportion of the albums meaning. While aspects of the Synthwave genre are present in some tracks, most of the work is hard to categorise, but ranges from ‘60s soundtracks to experimental soundscape. Overall the work evokes a picture of a world better avoided, that is to say, the one we are already in.

Yamaha - EMT 10 AWM Sound Expander - Sound Demo
video upload by Runningonair
"In this video I demo sounds from the Yamaha EMt-10 AWM sound expander, released in 1989. The patterns vary in usefulness but the lofi digital sounds (8/12bit) could be good for sampling. The individual sounds can apparently be played via a midi utility, but I've not looked into that so far.
All patterns are at 120BPM, for those that would like to try them out."

Guidance | Conducting an Orchestra with Voltage and Feedback Noise
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"I've been experimenting a lot this week and this video will focus on feedback patching, with two twists. It's not just circuit noise, I added a delay and a reverb to the chain. But more important, I added a ring modulator, modulated by a sinewave. So the feedback path is constantly flipping, cancelling waves or amplifying them. The idea is not mine, I got it from La Synthese Humaine who got the idea from Jaap Vink (synth & sonology pioneer, NL, 1970's) , linked in the video.
OK so it's mosty sculpted noise with no VCO and no frequency or pitch. I guess we can call it an atonal spectrum, a sum of sines that doesn't harmonize or add up to a note. Then I was wondering, what if we'd use a symphony orchestra to try and align with the tone/cluster, using the noise as a guide? In the early days, one would arrange a score for the orchestra to mimic frequency sweeps, and Xenakis made it a legendary technique using graphical scores. But this is the other way around. The source is my modular feedback exploration, so the score is voltage and audio. There are no notes, no scale, no 440 Hz concert pitch, so the orchestra would need to improvise and approximate whatever pitch is perceived. Will it be messy? Or will we always gravitate to order and balance? Spoiler. We'd do both.
How did I pull this off? I can't tell you. Not yet. Not now. And there's no 'best part' in this video. It's all good. Or all bad.

Currents & Nostalgia - Patch making with the coming synth from Unusable Engineering & more presets
video upload by Unusable Engineering
"This is the second video showing about the coming software synthesizer from Unusable Engineering.
This time it is both preset making and showing off presets.
0:00 - 9:40 Patch Making and Workflow (talk and action)
9:40 - 19:58 Presets Playing
This video is going through the basic workflow in Currents & Nostalgia - using its two oscillators, the filter and the slot sequencers.
The idea is to give you a feel for how it is to work with the synth and how it sounds.
After making a new preset, which in no way was prepared, I play through quite a few of the other presets with a touch of reverb on the output. I use Geometry Reverb (which is free with any paid purchase from unusable.net). In the patch making section I also use a few other effects from Unusable Engineering on the very end. Ensemble Diffuser which is an analog style modulation plugin, Geometry Delay which is a multi-tap delay and Cavitation Fractures, which is a fluid simulator reacting to sound and affecting sound. (They are all available already).

Dirtywave M8 Syntax 2025 one track challenge compo entry
video upload by Avrilcadabra
"Syntax is an Australian demoscene party, While it mostly is a celebration of coding and tracking for 8 and 16 bit computers they do have some M8 tracking competitions.
You can even enter some of the compos internationally. https://www.syntaxparty.org/
One such compo is the one track challenge inspired by Ess's wertstoffe track.
Rules are simple, only use 1 track, no samples, no midi, no nxt.
I think my entry came 3rd, Dustsucker won and Laamaa came second if I recall correctly.
Nevertheless I was quite proud of this.
I used a variety of techniques here, starting with fm synthesis of DTMF to make actually DTMF compliant dial tones, a DTMF decoder will understand these and it works via a table in the m8. if you want to dial an 8 and you THO (table hop) to 08 and so on, then a ring tone made in macro synth.
The speech synthesis is done by creating phonemes, it's flipping instruments and using vosim , wavemap and wavetables in wavesynth then arranged and sequenced to create words.
