Rise Me 🌅 (Arturia Minifreak // Roland J6 Chord Synth + H90 with new granular effect // TR6S)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"Happy New Year my friends! 🎹🔊
May 2026 bring you endless jams, wild synth waves, and machines that push the limits of what's possible. Thanks for jamming with me—here's to more electronic adventures ahead!

For this first jam of 2026, after having used the Arturia Minifreak as only instrument in my 2 last videos, I wanted to try it with a couple of other instruments. In this jam, only the DRUMS (TR-6S) have been sequenced, I'm playing the BASS (Minifreak) and CHORDS (J-6) in real-time 😉

The jam starts with me triggering some CHORDS on the J-6 and adding the cool new granular effect (Grainmod) from the Eventide H90 pedal.
I then fade in the DRUMS and finally play the BASS in real-time.
I'm using the AUTO FILL feature of the TR-6S so that there's a break at the end of each 8-measure.

** Hardware used **

// 🥁 DRUMS:
Roland TR-6S (Digital Rhythm Performer)

// 🎸 BASS:
Arturia Minifreak (polyphonic hybrid keyboard with dual digital sound engines and analog filters)

// 🎹 PADS:
Roland J-6 (Chord sequencer with the tones of the renowned JUNO-60 synth)"

Arturia AstroLab 37 | Ambient explorations

video upload by Jay Hosking

"Please support my work on Patreon: / jayhosking
Exploring the Arturia AstroLab 37 using a variety of its sounds.

00:00 - Piano
01:13 - Pad, soft to bright
05:01 - Bass arp and effects
06:51 - Stunning electric piano
09:07 - Synth string arp
10:28 - Two cinematic hits
10:43 - Vocals and percussion
12:11 - Classic synth
14:00 - Vowelly pad
15:41 - Guitar goodbye

I bought the Arturia AstroLab 37. It can make a huge variety of sounds, many of which aren't a part of my setups already. It sounds really good, as you might imagine. Being able to add piano, electric piano, mellotron, strings, etc. to my songs will allow me to expand the music I make on the table.

The biggest drawback is currently that there is such a large amount of presets I'll never touch on it. I need to basically delete all the presets off it and replace them with Arturia Collection sounds I like. But of course, that's a huge and daunting task.

Anyway, I really like what I was getting out of the AstroLab 37 and can imagine using it in a variety of setups. That said, sometimes what I imagine isn't what actually happens. I should let the future jams do the talking.

Thanks for listening.

Recorded live to a stereo output, with EQ, compression, and limiting on the master.

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"Just thought I would try a little something fun...the title says it all. 0 to 80's in 80 seconds. Enjoy. Certified AI free and no traces of softsynths!

Drums - Oberheim DX Stretch, Korg DDD-1 - just a snare on 2 and 4 with mostly just the reverb return from a Roland SDE-330 non-lin setting, Roland TR8S - some perc and a ghost snare from the 707 kit.

Oberheim OB-8

Korg DW-8000

Bass - Roland D-50 patch also triggering a Roland JX8P and Korg Polysix to fatten and double it

Ensoniq ESQ - A nice PPG Wave patch from a sound cartridge I have for it.

Sequential Rev 2 also triggering a bell patch on the Yamaha TG33

Yamaha DX7iiD - nice dual patch one a rhodes type and the other a tine from the many banks on the Hypersynth card to finish it off and play out on."

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds - Episode 2

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"80's in 80 Seconds Episode 2 has landed! The first one was a bit fun so let's keep the theme going. This one starts off with a nice "groove" and builds with some synths spanning the decade. If you listen past the 80 seconds the Arp Odyssey briefly shows off its duo-phonic capabilities with a few 2 note chords that almost have a vocoder like effect with the phaser on it just after the 2 minute mark.
The following instruments were used and recorded as a 2 track with no editing or overdubs with each part being played into a pair of Arturia Keystep Pro sequencers. As always, AI free and made with real ingredients. Thanks for watching!

Oberheim DX Stretch - main drums
Korg DDD-1 - perc
Roland TR8-S - additional high hats, rim shot, crash
Berhinger - Model D - Bass
Roland Jupiter 4 - Arp
Korg PolySix - Synth Brass Pad 1
Roland Jupiter 6 - Synth layer 2
Yamaha DX7II - Bell 1
Roland D-50 - Bell 2
Arp Solina - Strings
Arp Odyssey Mkii 2810 - Lead"

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds - Episode 3

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"80's in 80 seconds episode 3 is here to start of the New Year! I thought something "new" should be in 'order' after the busy holiday period. Several familiar sounds in this one that can most likely been dialed in on many synths of the era but this one builds with the hardware listed below. All natural...Certified AI and VST free. Thanks for listening!

Drums -
Korg DDD-1 to start with the first hi-hat
Oberhiem DX Stretch - Main kick, beat kick, snare, additional hi-hat, clap, and rim shot
Roland TR-8S - a little kick for attack, snare ghost notes, and high hat movement

Pad 1 - Oberheim OB-8

BASS - Berhinger Pro 1 and Poly D played with the arpeggio on on the Keystep Pro

Pad 2 - Roland D50 layered with Roland JX-8P and Korg DW8000

Bell - DX 7 ....of course it is!

ARP Chords - Roland Jupiter 4."

GLT Audio PM-80 Yamaha CS-80 MIDI Controller

via GLT Audio

For many musicians, owning a CS-80 synthesizer is a dream that’s out of reach - both financially and in terms of required maintenance. While today’s VST replicas sound remarkably close, the true spirit of the CS-80 only comes alive when you have all controls at your fingertips. That’s why GLT Audio created the “Poor Man’s CS-80” — the PM-80, featuring 75 dedicated faders and a ribbon controller, offering an inspiring hands-on experience.

75 silk-smooth faders

30 cm ribbon controller

6 high quality waveform toggle switches

Slim table-top metal enclosure

Well connected

Power and MIDI-out over USB-C

MIDI-out over 3.5mm jack

Expression pedal input (converts to MIDI)

CV and Gate out, assigned to the ribbon controller

Magnetic overlays to play other virtual instruments

Use cases
Map the PM-80 to your favorite CS-80 VST, such as Cherry Audio's GX-80, Softube's Model 77, Arturia's CS-80 V, Xils Lab's The Eighty, Morphoice's Unstable or Memorymoon ME80.
Use the PM-80 for other VSTs, by adapting it's parameters using magnetic labels.
Control a virtual audio mixer. (eg. 24 x level, 24 x pan, 27 faders for effects)
Control hardware directly in a DAWless setup, using the MIDI DIN output (even allowing SysEx on customized firmware).
Connect to your Eurorack: the ribbon controller outputs to CV and Gate.

Exponential ⤴️ (Arturia Minifreak) #onesynthonly #fromscratch

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"2nd video with the Arturia Minifreak hybrid (digital/analog) synth, with a OneSynthOnly jam (after the first video where I used 5 instances of the Minifreak in multi-track: • Cinefreak 📽️ (Arturia Minifreak // Conduct... 😉)

The jam starts with me recording in step mode a sequence.
Then the sequence is being played with me tweaking some parameters like adding delay, fading-in the second oscillator (superwave), modulating the analog filter etc.
In the second half of the video, I switched to the mode where I can transpose in real-time the sequence recorded (i.e. you can no longer play over the sequence, when you press on a key, it transposes the whole sequence to this key). What is really cool is that Arturia added the Scale feature which I really love, thus making it possible to transpose within a defined scale like on the Keystep Pro! 🤩"

Keystep MKII explored musically

video upload by mylarmelodies

"What does Keystep MKII SOUND like to make music with? In this video I'll make some music with Keystep MKII, capturing its MIDI on my Cirklon sequencer - trying Keystep MKII's core features to make all the melodies in the video. What does Mutate sound like? Spice? Etc. So you can see what it might be like as a master keyboard for your jams.

Thanks to Arturia themselves for funding a vid demo of Keystep. Keysteps continue to be really useful/inspiring keebs (and given how many folks use them I think you probably know that)."

A new Minimoog VST controller: SFC-mini V4 Intro

video upload by mylarmelodies

"The SoundForce SFC-mini V4 is a new dedicated physical hardware controller for Minimoog-style VST plugins. This video introduces the device and how it works, what's new in this model, the special bonus features that work with the Arturia Mini V4 plugin, and much more.

This video serves as an official intro to the SFC-mini V4, and was funded by SoundForce. Based in the Netherlands, SoundForce have been in business for more than 10 years making controllers and eurorack modules."

Press release follows:

SoundForce is introducing the SFC-Mini V4, a high-end, dedicated MIDI controller designed for the world’s leading Minimoog software emulations. Featuring more than 65 hands-on controls arranged in an authentic Minimoog-style layout, it delivers a true analog-inspired workflow for modern producers. Representing over a decade of SoundForce MIDI-controller innovation, the SFC-Mini V4 is the most advanced and accurate Minimoog-focused controller yet.

Build quality
The SFC-Mini V4 is assembled in the Netherlands using high-quality components sourced from Europe and Asia. Its case is built entirely from powder-coated sheet metal. Both sides are fitted with elegant 8 mm walnut wood panels for a vintage-inspired look.

Backed by over ten years of MIDI-hardware expertise, the SFC-Mini V4 is part of SoundForce’s newest generation of controllers. Its pots, sliders, and switches were chosen after extensive research and experimentation to deliver outstanding tactile response, long-lasting performance, and rock-solid reliability during assembly.

Plugin support:
Because the SFC-Mini V4 outputs standard MIDI CC messages, it can be paired with any software or hardware that supports MIDI CC mapping. However, since each plugin has its own UI and MIDI implementation, the firmware provides dedicated plugin modes to ensure proper integration. The SFC-Mini V4 has specific plugin modes supporting the following plugins:

Arturia Mini V4 (incl 2-way)
Arturia Mini V3/iMini
GForce Minimonsta 2
Cherry Audio Miniverse
UA Minimoog
Softube Model 72
NI Monark
Synpase Audio The Legend HZ
Plugiator Minimax

2-way communication:
Two-way communication means the SoundForce controller and a supported plugin can talk to each other in both directions, instead of the controller only sending MIDI data one-way. At this point, this feature is supported with the Arturia Mini V4.

In practice, that creates a far more “hardware-like” experience when using software synths. Change a preset, load a new instance on another track, move a parameter with your mouse and the controller automatically syncs its LED switches, and ingest the pot data in memory. When the received pot data from the plugin differs from the actual pot position on the controller, 3 options similar to Ableton take over modes can be chosen from: jump, pick-up and smoothing.

Cinefreak 📽️ (Arturia Minifreak ; Conductive Labs NDLR Sequencer) #OneSynthOnly

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"My first video with the Arturia Minifreak! What and amazing and versatile synth! Was really impressed of how it sounds and all the features it has in such a small form factor 🤩

As usual, I recorded this jam only a couple of hours after getting the Minifreak, it's really very easy to get started with!

However it did take me a lot of time to record all the parts in multitrack (though it is a OneSynthOnly jam), mix the audio and edit the video, really hope you'll enjoy it ☺️

Here's how I proceeded:
I first "played" the NDLR sequencer and recorded the MIDI notes on 4 different tracks for the BASS (= DRONE track on the NDLR), PADS, MOTIF-1 and MOTIF-2.

Then I sent the MIDI notes from each track to the Minifreak and tweaked the knobs etc. in real-time (except for the LEAD part which I played throughout in real-time).

** Hardware used **

// BASS, PADS, MOTIF-1, MOTIF-2, LEAD
Arturia Minifreak (polyphonic hybrid keyboard with dual digital sound engines and analog filters)

// SEQUENCER

California's Shortest State Highway! State Route 153 (Gold Country)

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We take a quick ride along 'California's shortest state highway', State Route 153. It runs a half mile in total from a junction with CA 49 in Coloma, California to Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. The park commemorates the discovery of gold by James W. Marshall at Sutter's Mill in 1848, which sparked the California Gold Rush, and features a large monument and statue of Marshall.

Although CA 153 is labeled as the 'shortest', there are a few routes that are de facto shorter, such as CA 77 in Oakland and CA 275 in Sacramento.

The accompanying music features the following instruments:
iOptigan, with 'Bluegrass Banjo' sound set
Cherry Audio Mercury 8
Arturia Piano V and Stage 73 V
EastWest Fab Four and Stormdrum 2
BFD Drums v3"
