The SFC-8 is specifically designed for JP-8 plugins, bridging the tactile feel of hardware with the capabilities of software instruments. With the latest updates to both Mercury-8 and SFC-8, they are a powerful and satisfying combination.

SFC-8 features a solid build and updated firmware already mapped to various JP-8 emulations like Mercury-8. With its full set of pots, sliders, and switches, SFC-8 utilizes Mercury-8's key features, including layered split and dual modes, drift/detune, the arp, and up to five user settings.

More details and the latest firmware update for SFC-8 are available on the SoundForce website at https://sound-force.nl/?page_id=4789, which also offers step-by-step documentation, a Mercury-8 template preset, and a Web MIDI Control Panel for loading the software-specific MIDI CCs and configuration.

California's Shortest State Highway! State Route 153 (Gold Country)

"We take a quick ride along 'California's shortest state highway', State Route 153. It runs a half mile in total from a junction with CA 49 in Coloma, California to Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. The park commemorates the discovery of gold by James W. Marshall at Sutter's Mill in 1848, which sparked the California Gold Rush, and features a large monument and statue of Marshall.

Although CA 153 is labeled as the 'shortest', there are a few routes that are de facto shorter, such as CA 77 in Oakland and CA 275 in Sacramento.

The Redshift 6 is a 6-voice analog polysynth, but with 16 oscillators per voice it goes far beyond the capabilities of a traditional 6-voice instrument. Each voice can also be played paraphonically, significantly extending the overall polyphony. In addition, each of the 6 parts has its own dedicated arpeggiator.

External FX used in this demo: SRE330, Meris Mercury 7, Meris Polymoon, Eventide H9.

"We cruise along Historic US 101 in the southern California beach towns of Carlsbad and Oceanside. Also known as Coast Highway (and Carlsbad Blvd within the eponymous city limits), this was part of the original US 101 in California that stretched from San Diego to the Oregon border. It was truncated to Los Angeles in 1964, and several of the former sections to the south have been signed as "Historic US 101". This segment is also signed as San Diego county route S21.

"First of August was performed live using the Oxi One MkII sequencer, Korg opsix, multi/poly and wavestate synthesizers and Roland TR-6S drum machine. The FM e-piano from opsix is running into the Line 6 HX ONE and Meris Mercury X in series for a lovely wash of reverb. The TR-6S is running into the UAFX Golden in Percussion Plate mode. Multi/poly is using the built in effects. Wavestate is a dry bass sound. There is no post-processing."
