'ROLAND SH1 same but less VCOs (1+sub) but still enough to "model" a good bass! . this was the first roland synthesizer!! it's case is all plastic like the TR808, became rare here in europe..
it has 2 ENVs but the second one is AR-type only (VCO), most other smaller SH only have one ADSR, the VCO has PWM and the typical subOSC that can also work 2 octaves below the main OSC...
the filter is 24dB/oct LPF and a static hpf - thats what the SH and even the Jupiter and juno series kept in it's concept.. it has pink and white noise, later models had white noise only. (exept the sh5 / sys100) - the sh1 also has an envelope follower...'"
"A Vintage Sequential Circuits Six-Trak Analog Synthesizer with Operation Manual. Synthesizer receives power, and to my knowledge, works properly. 49 keys. Model: 610 Serial # 610-003276. Dated from 1983 based on the publication of the Operation Manual. The Operation Manual has instrument instruction as well as a wiring diagram and play sheets all unused. A little bit of writing on the Factory Program List page.
The wood cabinet shows very minor blemishes on right edge, and a chip on the cabinet on the left side (see pics). Does not affect play."

Patch notes, in order of voice appearance: Verbos Harmonic Oscillator Output 6 ring-modulated (via Circuit Abbey Twiggy, bottom channel as ringmod and upper channel as VCA) by Verbos Complex Oscillator A saw wave. Harmonic Oscillator master output drone has Tilt modulated by a rhythmic gate from Pamela’s New Workout and Center modulated by an LFO from Batumi. Acid bassline from Abstrakt Instruments Avalon, which drives the whole patch over DINSync via an ALM D.S.G. into Pamela’s New Workout. Kick drum is my customized Bugbrand DRM-1, hi-hats are the TipTop Hats909 (seen hanging out below the drum rack), additional percussion from the Radio Music (custom metal-on-metal grinding field recording) and Loquelic Iteritas into Bastl Skis; all drum programming done live via the Bastl Knit Rider, and modulated by the Qu-Bit Nano Rand. Drums mixed with SSF Mixmode and distorted by Audio Damage Shapes. West Coast voice comes from the Complex Oscillator, modulated by LFO from Batumi and the Verbos Random Sampling, sequenced by Verbos Voltage Multistage. Envelopes from an Intellijel Quadra, triggered either from the Voltage Multistage or Pamela’s New Workout. Mixed by Sputnik Six Channel Mixer, recorded straight to iPhone via Line6 Sonic Port. No audio post-processing applied."

Todays episode is a review and demo of one of my all time favourite samplers, the budget (of its time) sampler Roland S-10. It has "only" 4.4 secs of total sampling time and it holds only max 4 sounds in its memory at a time. Each of the ABCD slots/banks can hold 1.1 sec of sampling time.
Despite all its limitations it has remarkable many features and a killer arpeggiator as well and the sound on this is incredible, especially at the low end. The 12 bit 30KHz converters give this sampler a low end grit that really is very musical and provides perfect counterpoint to more modern sounds. Its big brother, the S-50 has the same sound and even more sampling time.
The S-10 was one of my first samplers so it holds a special place in my heart and I had lots of fun with it back in the day and even did gigs with it of course as it WAS a pro sampler in its day despite its shortcomings in the memory department.

The track "Ocean Drive - Main theme" is recorded with only the S-10 sampler and all the sounds come directly off the S-10. It has been multitracked as the S-10 can only hold 4 sounds in its memory at a time as described above and in the video.
My tracks pay homage to all synth.pop acts of the 80'ies like Howard Jones, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Thompson Twins, Tears for Fears, Ultravox, OMD, Euryhmics, Duran Duran, Giorgio Moroder, Jean Michel Jarre, Jan Hammer, A-ha and many more.
A use mostly old gear on my tracks and among them Roland Juno 6, Alpha Juno 2, D550 and JX-8P. Korg DW-8000. Roland TR-626 drum machine. Yamaha DX7 and TX802 and drum machine RX11. I use the Novation Mininova as a vocoder on all my tracks. Effects are usually handled by Strymon and TC electronics. Sampling is done on my E-MU ESI-4000, Akai S1000 and Roland S-10."
"Here's a fun little, one-nighter track using all sounds from the new Analogue Solutions fusebox synthesizer!
All tracks were recorded from the AS fusebox and layered into Logic as they were dialed in. A touch of reverb was used on a couple of the sounds just to position them in the track.
Fusebox is shown here in its horizontal position, but can also stand vertically or be racked.
CAUTION: The Interval Generator AND the Patternator were used in the creation of this track!
OK, a little fun reverse engineering a familiar bass line -- or not! :)
All in good fun, some NIN Closer remixing going on in real-time with the Analogue Solutions Fusebox synth.
This is by no means an attempt at a spot-on reproduction of the Closer bass line, but more a live tweaking and patching session with the new Fusebox synth showing only an inch of its sonic potential.
Fusebox can be as dirty or as clean as you require!
What's going on?
1. Fusebox is having its filter modulated by MIDI key/note velocity (Logic)
2. Fusebox pitch is being controlled via MIDI notes (Logic)
3. Patternator is creating patterns in real-time (intro)
4. Bass sound tweaked live on Fusebox while sampled beat resides on 2nd Logic track
5. Sound is dry without processing, and entirely Fusebox."
"Just playing a pattern over Elektron machines (Octatrack sampler and Analog Four MK I 4-voice analog synthesizer). After recording, some effects plugins were applied into the sequencer (EQ, compression and panorama expander)."

"This week I thought it was time to take a look at the Roland JD-800 again. One of the most unique synths Roland has made to date. With an original list price of around $3000 back in 1991 when it came out it was the first sign that people were getting sick of presets and the pain of menu diving to create new sounds!
The JD 800 suffers from a few unique gremlins such as the 'Red Keys of Death" (The glue used to secure the key weights degrades over time and leaves a nasty trail of sticky goop and lost key weights!).
Delamination of the keybed connector is also quite common and then with so many digitally scanned sliders they get dirty and the machine can get quiet glitchy.
I have had to deal with each of the above problems over the years to keep this synth alive... which has surprised me due to me not actually using the synth much. The sound is like a Wavestation mashed with a D-50 , no real wave sequencing but you get 108 waves... saw, sine all the way to attack samples of various instruments. The Digital resonant filter adds even more unique flavour. The filter can be quite hard to dial in for the sound you want.
As I have said before I hardly ever use this synth and it is always on the potential chopping block to be sold when I find a new synth of interest :D"

"Life improvisation with one track Sequential Prophet 5 Rev. 3.2 through Moog Moogerfogger Analog Delay and Reussenzehn Reverb Preamp. The horn sound is made of two saw waves, a bit modulation of oscilator A pitch to LFO and Poly Mod to the Low Pass Filter. The Amp envelope begins quite fast, but the Filter envelope is slow, no resonance used in that sound, but a bit detuning of the oscilators. I used a very slow delay with a long cascade, but only very subtle in the mix, so you do not hear it too strong. The sound is not like a Yamaha CS-80, but I was inspired of the great horn sounds of Vangelis."

"Up for sale is a (1) vintage EDP Wasp synthesizer. It's in good working condition and sounds amazing! An unknown type of MIDI kit is installed. The MIDI in (green sticker) and thru (red sticker) are working fine, but the jack inputs at the backside of the synth don't work. We have no idea for what reason they are mounted there. On the MIDI board inside we found the following text: MIDI Wah 1.0
The keyboard is working fine, the battery compartment is clean, the battery compartment lid is still there, the plastic case has no cracks or missing parts, all the screws are there, the speaker is working, and it powers up with batteries (not included) and 9v psu adaptor (included, European plug installed on the adaptor)."
"This synthesizer has been owned by one person and has obviously been kept in incredible condition. Every switch and dial works perfectly, and the sound is magical. This piece is good enough to put on display at a synth museum.
I live in CT and am a pilot and aircraft owner and rather than have it shipped to me, I picked it up and flew it back. And if I can, I'd be willing to fly it out personally to any local airport east of Chicago for the price of shipping (will cost me more in gas alone), if we can schedule a date. This synth means that much. If for whatever reason we can't coordinate a date, it will be meticulously packed and insured if shipped.
Based on the condition, and even the case, it's obvious this unit has never seen any gigging. It even still has the original instruction sheet in the black and red carrying case (the post hit the picture limit but can provide picts of this case as well). The wood is immaculate and it even smells really nice inside. It's a gem of a survivor."
