This was performed live on a synthesizers.com modular synthesizer. The q960 sequencer and Q963 Trigger Bus are employed as well as two switches, 5 oscillators, 3 filters, 2 amplifiers, 4 envelopes, 3 mixers, an Instrument Interface, a Signal Processor, Distributor, Pan fade and Fixed Filter Bank.
Probably overkill, but hey, I gotta try to get a Moog modular sound outta this!

Six stages most of the time from the sequencer with a reset to 4 stages and accents from the Trigger Bus. The Bus also controls the rest beats. An oscillator and STG Sea Devils filter is used to pulse the drone note. Sequenced notes are C1, C2, C1, C2, A#1, G1.

Next, I test the DIN sync input by controlling the 808's tempo and Start/Stop with a TR-606. Next, I test the pedal inputs for Start/Stop and manual Fill-In (the Tap/Fill-In button does not work on this machine). Then, I demostrate basic tweaking of individual drum sounds. "Its been a really busy week at the studio and it doesnt look like its letting up for a while...On Monday and tuesday Ludvig Andersson and Mats Lundgren (of Pineforest Crunch fame) was in the studio doing some treatments and abstract overdubs to their upcoming album. They dont have a band name yet but the album is almost finished so it could turn very interesting very fast.

On Wednesday I worked with Andreas Morland working on the track All the time. We swapped Mellotron sounds from the standard Cello to the Gino Vanelli strings and also recorded a sort of ambient Xylophone line using the Tenori-on.

On thursday I did some further editing on the Andreas stuff as well as preparing the Akaba track So Easy for mix. While reloading some files I had some fun with the modular system.

Today (as in Friday) Ill be recording with Fredrik Klingwall.

This film was recorded at Roth Händle studios. The studio is located in Sundbyberg just outside of Stockholm, Sweden. This is where I record and produce bands, artists and albums. If you are interested in finding out more about the studio please visit www.roth-handle.nu"

"First Test with a Dave Smith Instruments (DSI) Evolver Mono Desktop - just using a Preset here, the machine is quite new (just bought it recently) - this Synth is fantastic - 100% worth its 444€. I just need to get it hooked up with an additional external MIDI-controller to be better able to program the 4 sequencer tracks. "The main purpose with the frequency shifter is to make frequency shift up and down for processed audio signal. Two signal sources are needed; the carrier and the audio. Both carrier and audio signals are splitted in two chains and are pre-processed to accomplish 90 degrees phase shift between splitted signals.
The carrier generator has two frequency ranges; LF (low frequency) and AUDIO and it's controlled by knobs
COARSE, FINE and external CV signals (CARRIER CV). The carrier generators outputs are pure sine waveforms with 90 degrees delay between them. Outputs are patched to both ring modulators inputs. Two ring modulators (dual balanced multipliers) receives 0 and 90 degrees shifted carrier and audio signals . The outputs from the multipliers are combined in two ways; the frequency shift UP and DOWN. The frequency shifted audio signal is a sum (UP) or difference (DOWN) of the carrier generators frequency (a pure sine waveform) and all audio signals frequencies (fundamentals and harmonics). The FSH-1 works in two modes; as frequency shifter and as dual ring modulator. A ring modulator is a classic audio effect device and due to the non-harmonic character of the output signal. It's very useful to create metallic timbres such as bells, sweeping whistles and percussive sounds and tremolo effects. The obvious effect (particularly in LF mode) is a stereo panning effect of audio signal."

A simple PD example patch receives OSC messages from nfOSC and starts a sample loop, when an RFID tag is detected by the reader device, the loop is stopped when the according tag is removed. The nfOSC tool allows the simplified creation of tangible user interfaces based on RFID tags.
