"Swoopster is a wild, fuzzed out Flanger/Vibrato effect designed for Audiobus and Inter-app audio.

Process synths, drum machines and hundreds of other apps by connecting through Audiobus. Use Swoopster as an effect inside Garageband, Auria, Cubasis, and AudioShare using Audiobus or Inter-app audio.

Swoopster features two distinct modes:
PERFORM and TWEAK.

● PERFORM mode is focused around four XY touch pads. Touch to control flanger speed, manual, feedback and fuzz amount independently for left and right channels.

● TWEAK mode features large expressive sliders and additional effect parameters, allowing you to fine tune your sound.

The center panel of Swoopster's interface is part of the instrument and meant to be played in real-time, including the scrollable preset list. Tap a preset to instantly load it's settings, play different presets in rhythmic patterns, or re-trigger the current preset to restart the sweep of the Flanger. The MUTE and BYPASS buttons function as momentary switches for DJ mixer style control.

Echo Pad users loved the creative stereo imaging possible with its effects, and this approach continues with Swoopster. Both Perform and Tweak modes allow you to control the left and right channel's effect parameters independently for wide stereo sound design. You can easily toggle between linked and unlinked channel parameters by tapping the LINK button.

In addition to Audiobus and Inter-app Audio support, Swoopster can also process external instruments such as guitar, voice and synths by connecting a microphone or professional audio interface such as the Apogee Jam, ONE, or any iOS compatible USB audio interface.

For more info visit www.swoopsterapp.com or watch demos and tutorials at www.youtube.com/holdernessmedia.

COMPATIBILITY:
● requires iOS 7.0 or later
● iPad Mini/iPad 2 or newer
● Audiobus compatible (Effect,Input and Output)
● Inter-App audio compatible (effect node)
● compatible with USB audio interfaces

Features:

● stereo Fuzz, Flange and Vibrato effect processor
● versatile flanger capable of sounds ranging from smooth phasey flange to wildly distorted, pitch shifted madness
● flanger with positive and negative feedback
● independent left and right channel effects engines can be controlled separately or linked
● Audiobus compatible (supports all 3 slots)
● Inter-App Audio compatible (effect node)
● true stereo input and effects processing
● several output style options including normal stereo, wide stereo, and sum to mono

Swoopster works with just about any professional iOS compatible USB audio interfaces. Here is a list of interfaces that have been tested and verified to be compatible:

In addition to being a sequencer its a full blown sample-based synthesizer. I took the time to program all of the sounds on this track because the presets are very 'dance' oriented."

KORG Volcas on eBay

"Three true-analog synthesizers with built-in sequencers to generate the ultimate analog leads, basses, and rhythms

Following in the footsteps of the monotron, monotribe, and MS-20 Mini analog synthesizers, Korg announces the Volca series. Volca is a new lineup of EDM production tools comprised of three distinct models: the Volca Keys lead synthesizer, the Volca Bass synthesizer, and the Volca Beats rhythm machine. These powerful and fun-to-use true-analog devices deliver a diverse array of fat sounds that can be obtained only from an analog synthesizer. Each is also equipped with sequencing/recording capabilities for intuitively generating performances. Multiple volcas can be used in tandem via the vintage-style sync in/out, and with your favourite DAW software or MIDI keyboard via MIDI In. Battery operation and built-in speakers mean that you can conveniently play anywhere and anytime. These are the next-generation analog synthesizers, bringing you the ultimate sounds and grooves with ease and depth. Whether used together or by themselves, the Volca series is poised to inject true analog power into any performance or studio setup!

Luke from Korg UK runs us through the main features and sounds from all 3 Volca's."

Note this is the first White Sample post.

"I am in Linz, Austria since the end of October in the Ars Electronica Center, as an artist in residence in the Future Lab.

The experience so far has been very positive, meeting very nice people and cool projects.

After a few meetings and presentations my main project changed and I am now developing an Eurorack module, based on Arduino, to produce strange sounds and to be controlled via CV by other modules or audio signals.

Production will be limited to five modules.

For the moment this is classified info, updates will come soon followed by a user manual and schematics.

This is an Open Hardware Project based on The Arduino IDE."

The first is always connected to 4th cell’s output and the second output brings input signal mixed with one of 2 available points mentioned above: 4th and 8th stage.

After warming up it keeps in tune for hours even with the background tuning turned off. If played within the warmup time, OSC 2 coarse frequency will jump, but this does not occur after the 15 minute warmup. The synth was gone over by TSI in New Jersey a few years ago and recalibrated, and was given a clean bill of health. Every parameter functions perfectly and the keys are perfect. It really is in gorgeous condition and sounds like the monster it is.
