"Original Korg Mono/poly in wonderful mint condition. As pristine kept as you can get for an analog synth from the early 80s! Timeless fat sound heard on countless records. Sounds great and is an amazing addition to any studio for achieving that classic 80's Depeche Mode sound, to synth pop (as being a favorite synth of MGMT's), to modern recordings such as The Weeknd.

Beautifully kept, little to no wear. Non smoking environment. Kept in a climate controlled home studio.

Comes with Kenton Pro Solo MkII Midi to CV converter that allows you to transmit midi messages to trigger the input of the synth (as the Mono/Poly was created before midi even existed!)"

The M-Audio Venom was released in the early 2010s. It's a 12 voice polyphonic, 4 part multitimbral virtual analog synthesizer (or is it?) This synth is quite inexpensive at the moment, you can find it on ebay for around $120.

In this video, there's a 3 minute track made only with this synth, an overview of the hardware and features, some selected sounds / patches and a brief look at the synth engine and the Windows Editor needed for creating your own patches and how to work around compability issues in Windows 10.

I also show how external instruments can be run through the Venom's effect engine.

Black Corporation Xerxes Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer

Published on Mar 24, 2020 Perfect Circuit

"Inspired by the rare Elka Synthex, Xerxes is the newest polysynth from Black Corporation. Bringing the sound and techniques of the Synthex to a wider audience than ever before, Xerxes provides new access to a wide range of tones from edgy to atmospheric.

Xerxes has a sound that feels distinctly from the 1980s, capable of rich, warbling strings, punchy brass, and ethereal pads. It exudes a fizzy, sparking high-end energy that makes strings come alive and sync sounds bite through any texture. But it truly excels at sounds that make use of its extensive modulation matrix—creating lurching, grinding modulated textures that meld its oscillators' raw grit with its filters' smooth, resonant response.

And like the Deckard's Dream and Kijimi before it, the Xerxes is also fully MPE-compatible—making it one of the most expressive and playable analog synths available.

Chris Carter - CCCL LepLoop Experiment & The Different Iterations of the LepLoop

Note the above is from 9 years ago. Below is an image featuring the different iterations of the LepLoop.

"The LepLoop
I've used a lot of synths over the years but this one is something different… it's a strange instrument. It's small, much smaller than it appears in photos: it is part synth, part drum machine, part multi-track sequencer. I'm still figuring it all out but initial impressions are that it's very unpredictable and slightly unstable… but in a good way. I had a few issues with it sometimes refusing to work and also it has a tendency to pick up stray signals from my iPhone and iPad if they are anywhere near it. But when it works it is quite rewarding to use and is capable of some amazing sounds - if mildly frustrating trying get it to do what I think it 'should' be able to do - but I will persevere. If you like wonderful experimental noises - accompanied by a simple rhythm (although I'm sure it's very capable of a lot more) then this little unit could be for you.
The LepLoop will definitely become part of my CCCL experimental arsenal and will most likely get seconded into the upcoming Throbbing Gristle experimental sets in October/November 2010.
The short sound example here was performed without a keyboard, just using the internal sequencer and some real-time tweakery. The outputs were processed with a couple of Eventide pedals for some 'tape delay' & reverb.
Photo on my Flikr pages: www.flickr.com/photos/chris_carter_/4933901603/

UPDATE:
Apparently my LepLoop is a prototype, which accounts some of the 'issues' I had with it - the production version should run fine."

via LepLoop

"Laboratorio Elettronico Popolare (L. E. P. ) is proud to present to you a one-of-a kind analog synthesizer, sequencer and drum-machine: LEPLOOP!

Small in nature but aggressive in sound, the user will be able to create a variety of analog timbres and beats.

LEPLOOP was designed to be a minimalist electronic music live-performance groove-box, which can be used to create a variety of electronic musical styles.

The LEPLOOP can be synched via MIDI to another LEPLOOP for tempo-synched operation or to another MIDI device or sequencer to receive sequence stop & start i nstructions.

Korg PS-3100 Polyphonic Synthesizer 1977

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The PS-3100 Analogue Synthesiser has monstrous polyphony - one built-in VCO, VCF, VCA, and EG for each of the keys on the keyboard for a total of 48 synthesizer circuits and polyphony! There is no Ring Modulator or 'tremolo modulator'; it has only 12 (divide-down) VCOs; there are 2 LFOs; and patch memory didn't exist in 1976.

The PS-3100 has a rich sound despite its single VCO (triangle, saw, square waves, plus PWM) and its LPF is warmer than the MS synths. The Resonator (3 bandpass filters) can create formants and phase effects. LFO1 has a range up to 1khz, multiple wave forms, and can create FM effects using AM, which is continuously variable right up to Ring Modulation. There are 2 EGs - one polyphonically affects the VCA and LPF, the other (General Envelope Generator) is universal and paraphonic. The GEG can also be widely used as a modulation source. It has12 scaling controls for non equal-tempered intonation. There is an Ensemble for 70s style string patches and an extensive patchbay. The PS-3100 is huge, weighs 30kg and Korg made only 600."

"Puremagnetik is pleased to release Kristall - a plugin inspired by Arovane's Gestalt, out now on Puremagnetik Tapes.
http://puremagnetik.bandcamp.com

Kristall is a unique delay device that creates "prisms" of echo patterns. Kristall sends audio through a delay feedback line and then resamples the output into 2 discrete branches. You can then manipulate each branch independently and adjust playback locations for each channel. The result creates complex patterns that augment the delay feedback in unusual ways.

It is a versatile sound design tool that can be used for anything from ambient sound washes to tension-building backdrops and intricate soundscapes

Published on Mar 24, 2020 Gary P Hayes

"A spiritual meeting place of the Gundungurra people who have lived in the area for 14 000 years, I wanted to do a piece in the area that both reflects the current virus situation (I like millions around the world, am in effective quarantine - allowed out to natural areas of course away from other people) and also the sense of contamination of invaders moving across the landscape here from overseas into Australia back in the early 1800s. The off beat E note in the rhythm fights with the Cm chords in the opening, the natural major meeting the invading minor. This is a significant spot as some historians said it is where a big meeting took place between the indigenous people and the Europeans who had just traversed the Blue Mountains... and apparently Kew-Y-Ahn means roughly, 'go back to where you come from'...

Running through some delicious Valhalla Delay https://valhalladsp.com"

"Scuttlebut is a simple noise generator with a built-in mini sequencer. It's an experiment in minimalism to see how much could be squeezed from a simple 8-pin 8-bit microcontroller with minimal audio circuitry. It's easy to build - designed in fact for a soldering workshop for beginners - and only uses through-hole components.

The user controls are a couple of rotary presets, a pair of pushbuttons, a touch pad and a light sensor. The presets control a pair of oscillators and the pushbuttons select waveforms (sine, triangle, sawtooth etc.) and modulation (frequency, amplitude, phase etc.). The touch pad activates the light sensor which then further modulates the sound.

Includes a record mode in which a sequence of different sounds can be recorded and then looped back.

Supplied as a kit of PCB and components. Power input is via a 9V PP3 battery snap and audio output is mono through a 3.5mm jack socket."
