Cinematic Laboratory

"After creating the Imitor Versio video I couldn't stop experimenting and suddenly ended up with this 'extreme' techno with Manis Iteritas doing a metal guitarish lead. So no video patchnotes for this one, I want to invite you to my secret deep underground party where all virtual drinks are served ice cold. Have a great weekend!

Modules used:
1010Music Toolbox (gate sequences)
Polyend Preset (pitch)
Manis Iteritas (lead)
Queen of Pentacles (beats)
Imitor Versio & Desmodus Versio (FX).

It's a lot of sound for such a small set of modules.

"This is a jam resulting from messing round with the sp-1200 and sampling things from around the house. I eventually swapped out the sampled 'bang on the chair' for a sampled 909 kick and snare and added synth parts from an ensoniq mirage (wavetable created from a casio cz-5000) and black corporation's deckard's dream to compliment the percussion of the sp-1200. "Replacement main board for an Omnichord 200 M. This is unused new old stock, so it is in perfect working order. Bring your Omnichord up to perfect working condition again for wayyyy cheaper than it costs to buy a new one!!

There are only a small handful of these parts still available worldwide, and this is one of the very last ones. Ordered from Suzuki in the UK, and selling here at a reduced price. Suzuki UK only has 1-2 of these remaining and will not be making any more.

Please note this board is only for Rev B and later. For it to work with a Rev A, additional parts are needed. Most 200-Ms are Rev B or later.

I simply bought the wrong part, and didn’t want to pay to return it to the UK, so I figured I’d sell it here instead. Simple replacement process, but a tech may be needed depending on the buyer’s level of experience.

Model:Samples Live Performance

Patchwerks Seattle

Model:Samples at Patchwerks

"In this video resident expert Hannah (VÄN) from Patchwerks performs for us on the Elektron Model:Samples. Model:Samples is Hannah's go to drum machine and sampler player. With it's knob per function layout it's a breeze for her to perform with.

Packed with great sounds!
The sound engine uses high-quality digital samples. There are 300 preset sounds supplied by Splice, ranging from the familiar kicks, snares, and hi-hats to exotic, never-before-heard ones. With a few tweaks, you can easily personalize any sample until it sounds just the way you want it. Transfer your own samples into it, or use any of the expertly crafted custom sound packs.

Dedicated knobs!
As an Elektron first, this machine offers a complete set of tactile controls, with one function per knob. They’re all right there on the front panel; just grab a knob and twist it. Unleash your music spontaneously using the six tough, velocity-sensitive pads. Record your every move live, or punch in your creation one step at a time using the superb Elektron sequencer.
Ready to go!
At under one kilogram, you’re getting the benefits of a light and convenient machine that will surprise you with its snarling sonic power.

Key Features:
- Control All lets you twist your sounds to oblivion. Then use Reload to take you back to where you started
- Use Parameter Locks to automate parameters. Each step can have a totally different sound
- Load six samples at once – just like a kit. Great when you have made a - ---- Pattern with Parameter Locks, LFOs etc… Load six new samples to instantly experiment and come up with unique and unexpected results
- Write basslines and melodies using Chromatic Mode
- New Chance parameter. Chance determines the possibility whether the sequencer steps on a track are triggered or not. Combining Chance with the - Control All functionality can lead to many interesting results and happy accidents
- Record sequences with or without quantization. Steps can be micro-timed with individual Swing control per track
- Individual Step Length per track
- Individual Tempo Multiplier per track
- Class compliant USB audio 2.0

MONOME Norns/fates + ARC + 16n Faderbank: Study 001

Allinaire

"Monome Norns/Fates controlled by ARC & 16n Faderbank. Performed Live.
ARC controls 4 virtual 'Tape' heads in Fates ASH app. The ARC controls position, speed, direction & pitch in very high resolution increments.
The 16n Faderbank is midi mapped to the parameters in ASH to control the number of grains, grain size, grain spread for each tape head and a master reverb.
All sounds and loops from Fates - no external effects or processing. The output is recoded back into Fates via the Record App running simultaneously.
The 4 loops were made prior on other fates apps and recorded via Fates then loaded into ASH."

'Ask your doctor if Imitor Versio is right for you.'"

345.00 - see the dealers on the right for availability.

"Imitor Versio is a delay designed for experimentation. With 12 delay taps and a slew of parameters designed to make the delay perform in unfathomable ways, IV is perfect for creating unusual echoes, experimenting with different delay shapes and patterns, adding vintage flare to an atmosphere, and more.

Ask your doctor if Imitor Versio is right for you.

A note to our international friends: shipping from the US to other countries remains unpredictable. We ship anywhere, but consider supporting a local retailer if you have concerns (or even if you don’t!)."

The Bat Verb | Part 05 | Imitor Versio firmware

Cinematic Laboratory

"Noise Engineering has just released a new firmware for the Desmodus Versio, the 'versatile imitator'. It's a twelve tap delay with tempo sync, delay timing skew, circular stereo panning, distortion, tralis that rise and fall, shimmer and harmonically related pitch shifting. POB has done an excellent walkthrough on all features (see link in video), so I'll just focus on how it sounds in various patches. the IV is also available as a dedicated module with its own faceplate, and faceplates can be ordered for your DV if you're planning on permanent use.

Please note the IV is a delay that's designed to be discovered so make sure to spend some time with it. I noticed it features a lot of sonic textures which are also found on some of the best delays around. So this one may be the droid you've been looking for in just 10 HP. Highly recommended!"

"I played the KORG NAUTILUS and YAMAHA MODX Synthesizer Workstation Keyboards for 30 minutes each. Here are the highlight moments. I browsed through the presets somewhat randomly looking for inspiring patches and improvised to whatever first fame to mind. In this video we focus on the synth style sound category and in the next video we will explore acoustic sounds, pianos, organs and orchestral. After more upcoming demo videos I'll give my review and comparison of the NAUTILUS vs the MODX. I hope this video is helpful if you are choosing to purchase one of these as it demos the sound character and quality of each keyboard."

via this auction

"I bought this Prophet 5 in Venice from a music producer 6 years ago. It's the rare Rev2 version. It has a stronger and warmer sound compared to the later versions, but more instable.

The Power supply is a little bit noisy and the synth needs to be turned on for 15 minutes and a few autotunes to stabilize. But all these things are normal for this version. The sound has its charm and character, the SSM gives the sound a distinctive power. Mine has just been recently serviced. An SSM 2020, a few SSM30, an I3292 (electronic switch), TL084 (operational) have been replaced with original components. Ideally necessary a recalibration of the ADC and DAC from a good tech to have a perfect instrument."

Erica Synths Introduces Black Sequencer Eurorack Module

Erica Synths

"Hello world! It has been a long trip, but we are glad to announce that the Black Sequencer will be finally available on November 20th this year. We are really excited about it and cant wait to see how you will integrate it in your eurorack setup!

Patch description - Rhythmic bass part is made with Black VCO II PULSE and SUB outs mixed together an then send through the upcoming Black LPG module and then sent through the Black Stereo Delay in TAPE mode. Main lead is also a Black VCO II but with a SAW output sent through the Multimode VCF and Black Hole DSP II with "Stalker Reverb" patch loaded. The quiet rhythmic piano is Pico Voice in Wavefolder mode. Everything is sequenced with the Black Sequencer."

Details:

"The Erica Synths Black Sequencer takes classical modular sequencing to the next level by adding tons of features required for contemporary modular synthesizers.

The Black Sequencer features 4 channels with CV, gate and modulation outputs, up to 64 step sequences that can be chained into songs, independent track time divisions, multiplications and lengths. It includes a built-in quantizer, LFOs, envelope generators, parameter randomization, a MIDI in/out and many other features essential for composing and performing electronic and experimental music. Even though it provides many programmable parameters per step, it’s intuitive, easy and straightforward to use, and we believe that it will become a master controller for many modular setups.

USB Bridge A features two midi USB hosts and conventional TRS midi (type A) input and output.
Midi data is routed between the connected devices and merged if necessary. Routing is very fast with very low latency.

Data received from a USB device will be send to the other USB device and to the TRS output.
Data received on the TRS input will be sent to the two USB devices.
Depending on the kind of data it will be merged, see below.

You can use this to:

Connect one or two midi USB midi controllers/keyboards to a conventional midi device
Connect a keyboard to a module with only USB device capability
Connect a cheap USB midi interface and get more conventional midi IOs
