LIVE @ EMEAPP FEAT. SCHOOL OF ROCK HOUSE BAND, FORT WASHINGTON, PA (6-28-23)

video upload by EMEAPP

Starts with the Minimoog, followed by lots of ARP QUADRA in this one. EMEAPP is a synth museum. You can find additional posts featuring them here.

"It does our hearts good to see the younger generations take an interest in the classic tunes from decades past and add their own flair to them. Here for your eyes and ears is the house band from the Fort Washington, PA chapter of the School Of Rock, performing a quartet of 70s classics (Frankenstein by The Edgar Winter Group, Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd, Hydra by Toto and Stargazer by Rainbow). Our good friend and School Of Rock musical director Mike Kiker (check out his INSIDE THE MIX: Rick Wright video on our channel, link below) guided these kids through the setlist and it was an awesome experience to see them light up our vintage keys and synths, amps and drum kit which added an extra layer of sonic authenticity to their performances.

You can find us at www.emeapp.org where we invite you to join us as a FREE member."

ASM Hydrasynth - Ultimate Pads Vol.1 Vid 2 of 2

video upload by Scott McAuley Sounds

"Patches will be available at https://www.orano.co.uk/shop or http://www.synthsounds.co.uk

The first Instalment of many for this synth, due to it's strengths and capabilities I have decided with this one to break the banks down into categories.

In this one it features 50 Lush, Warm, Emotive, inspiring Pads.

the initial test was to see how lush I could get the hydraynth to sound, and decided to do a full bank production ready and balanced levels.

This will work on any hydrasynth, anyone with a deluxe, i'd love to hear the pads layered :)

These pads are suitable for most genres, especially, film scoring, ambient, trance and any musical woks that require some evolving motion.

anyway, I hope you enjoy!

as always, many thanks for checking these out!

Bach Prelude 1 in C Major // Moog Matriarch

video upload by Wave Dash Magazine

"One of the most recognizable pieces written by Bach, performed on an analog synthesizer. The first piece in The Well-Tempered Clavier is a popular choice for kids and beginners, and due to its arpeggiated nature, I thought it would be fun to perform on a mono synth. Technically the song should be performed with the lowest two notes held for the duration of the arpeggio, but I opted to use the built-in delay to achieve a similar effect.

I found it surprisingly difficult to create an appropriate patch for this piece. Ultimately I went the route of simplicity, leaning on the quality of the raw tone of the Matriarch and focusing entirely on creating immersive, dreamlike dynamics via expression pedal and patch cables."

"Nearly mint Prophet-5 (rev 3) from 1982

This is an amazing vintage synth in immaculate condition. It works completely without any issues whatsoever, as if it were in a time capsule its whole life. It has the original factory patches inside, and I've verified that the cassette interface works. I cleaned the bus bar so that all keys trigger as expected. I am replacing the key bushings so that they are smooth and clean. It tunes and boots right up and all voices play perfectly. Unison mode is HUGE!

Cosmetically: the wood is without any blemishes whatsoever. All the knobs are fine, and all buttons work as expected. This is as mint a Prophet from 42 years ago as you will ever see!"

"Spelled Moroco and not Morocco. This is a fantastic dual multimode filter with 4 LFOs and 2 envelope generators and midi control. It seems there may have only been 8 made. The photos show one of 2 units we have - this may or may not be the one we sell, but they are in the same condition (just about perfect). Fully tested and working great. Not sure how to put on a price on such a rare item. Price will definitely be negotiable if it doesn’t sell for a while, though if you miss this one, it’s likely you won’t find another anywhere cause they’re that rare."

There have only been four posts prior to this one mentioning the Moroco. There was a video which is unfortunately gone. You can however see the original announcement post with digital flyer there. Only one other was listed for sale.

"This unit came to us in relatively good working order, but these synths need a full restoration in order to work like new again and be as reliable as possible, so that's what we did. It's been meticulously cleaned inside and out and electronically refurbished so it's working exactly as it should, no surprises typical of most vintage synth purchases these days. We also took some important future-proofing measures, so it will hopefully outlast all others. This unit should tune better than all others too as it also includes our custom tuning stabilization modifications. This process took approximately 37 hours of valuable skilled labor which is of course factored into our price - you get what you pay for. This ob-xa contains a JL Cooper MIDI retrofit.

Here's a rundown of what our tech did - there could be more things left out:

Disassembled and cleaned inside and out
Keyboard mechanism rebuilt:
Old bushings removed and replaced with new bushings
Key guides adjusted
Bus bars cleaned
Key contacts cleaned
Keys cleaned and reinstalled
Replaced power supply caps, replaced IC socket, diodes, trims
Lots of molex connector terminals replaced
Jacks cleaned
All pots cleaned
VCO trimpots replaced for more stable tuning
Replaced most electrolytic capacitors
Recalibrated
Replaced 4053 logic IC chips x3
Replaced CV section TL082 IC chips x8
Replaced CA3080 VCAs IC chips in CV section x8
Replaced battery
Reloaded patch data
Replaced wooden sides
Repaired often defective pitchbend"

"Meticulously serviced and working perfectly. We replaced all the tact switches with new ones for flawless operation (they usually retrigger these days), cleaned and lubed all pots, resoldered stuff that often develops bad solder joints, cleaned things up inside and out, resoldered battery terminals, cleaned jacks and tested all functions and everything appears to be working exactly as it should.

The work we did to this unit to make it operationally better than the rest should add value to anyone buying one of these as it's work you won't have to pay another tech to do. This work is embedded in its higher than usual price. This item will be packed right so it arrives intact too. You get what you pay for."

"Freshly serviced by professionals (us) and in perfect working order, unlike most. The tact switches on these often go bad and cause the keys to retrigger, making it frustrating if not possible to accurately enter new patterns. We paid our tech to replace all these switches so they would work right the first time. He also cleaned and lubed all pots and resoldered jacks and pots. This is stuff we typically do to our 303s that most other sellers don't bother doing. This unit's been fully tested and is working perfectly. We'll give it one last test prior to shipping - we test our items multiple times because quality control is our top priority here."

130 111976
140 102603

The individual module SNs match this previous listing with the 4CV 184 keyboard.

"This was recently serviced by Belltone Synth Works just outside of Philadelphia. The sliders and pots have been cleaned, modules repaired, and it has been calibrated to Roland's specifications. This particular 100M comes with the 112, 120, 130, 140, and 150 modules as well the model 181 49 key controller.

There is the slightest dent on the top of the controller (see photos for condition). The keys are a little loud / clacky. The modular itself is in very good condition. There is some wear (once again, see photos for the condition).

I am including 5 cables to connect to modules to the cabinet-- one of which is NOT original. I am also including the longer din cable that connects the controller to the 100M as well as a handful of patch cables.

Most of these System 100Ms are 100V. This one is no exception. It would be best to use a stepdown transformer to convert US mains voltage to Japanese mains voltage.

This is a well cared for System 100M. I am selling it because I need to make space in my studio. Testing it out before listing it, I was tempted to keep it. Alas, I just need the space."

Video in the listing previously posted here.

"The Moog 'Sanctuary', of which only 100 units were ever made was the brainchild of David Van Koevering. Moog Music brought Van Koevering in to guide their marketing efforts when the company had developed a stronger national presence. David worked with local church groups to find a unique marketing outlet for a custom-named set of Moog instruments (the Sanctuary and Joyful Noise designs,) re-branded versions of Moog instruments designed and programmed to appeal to more traditional church markets.

This was recently serviced (November '22) by 'SynthPro' Jareth Lackey. (invoice for works carried out included) and also now includes a modern, bespoke internal powersupply from 'Synthtaste' for added reliability.

Everything works as it should, pots and switches are all behaving perfectly.

The cabinetry is in stunning condition, it really is a synth to behold.

A short video is attached which Jareth recorded after repairs were carried out."

AM8122 Dual SVF (100M)

AM8122 BRIEF DEMO video upload by AMSynths

via AMSynths

"Overview The original Roland 100M (1978) has only one type of voltage controlled filter, 24dB low pass. This rather limits the range of sounds that can be created with the synthesizer and it is strange that Roland never ported the 703 2-pole OTA SVF into the 100M format. The AM8122 closes this gap and provides two 2-pole State Variable Filters in one 16HP module.

AMSynths Design The AS3320 chip is used to create the SVF, rather than the CA3080 OTA in the original 703 module. This is partly down to the limited PCB space for two filters and partly because the 3320 chip in SVF mode sounds very good, think Oberheim OBX. An alternative approach would be to build a dual Jupiter 6 SVF with AS3109’s, but this is tricky to achieve given the limited PCB space and we already produce a Jupiter 6 module – the AM8060 module.

The AM8122 circuit reuses the 2-pole SVF in the AM8325 and adds the BP mode and voltage controlled resonance. The third CV input is used as the Resonance CV input. The front panel design follows the Behringer 121 module with signal and CV input trimmers, frequency and resonance on 30mm sliders and green and red indicator LED’s.

Each filter has two outputs, with a slide switch selecting which filter output goes to which jack socket. The upper jack socket (OUT) can be set to either LP, BP or HP and the lower jack socket (REV OUT) follows the reverse (HP, BP, LP). This approach ensure the LED’s track the filter mode selected by the switch, whilst still providing individual outputs of each filter mode. The three signal inputs of the second filter are normalised to the outputs of the first filter (HP, BP and LP), so that the filter modes can be mixed together and filtered again!

Front Panels The panels use the same manufacturing process as the earlier AMSynths 100Mmodules, with a white silk screen over a dusty grey powder coated panel.

Outcome & Availability The module and panel were designed in December 2022. In 1Q23 the prototype PCB’s were debugged, with the revised LED drive and increased filter output levels so they are all the same (10V p-t-p). Production modules will be availble in 3Q23. The AM8122 will be the first AMSynths module to use SMD manufacturing processes (JLCPCB) for the PCB’s."
