Rossum Electro-Music Trident // Triple VCO with UNIQUE Analog Tones & Modulation
Published on May 5, 2019 DivKidVideo
"Here we have the Rossum Electro-Music Trident. A 'Multi-Synchronic Oscillator Ensemble' which is a trio of analog / analogue oscillators with some unique waveshaping features. Each VCO can be used independently but it comes to life when you make use of the ZING modulation. Zing Modulation is similar to Ring Modulation however the use of hard sync which is switchable between the oscillators results in much more musical "locked" harmonics. It's hands down pretty amazing! Especially when coupled with two modulation oscillators, symmetry control, phase modulation and loads more. Skip around as you see fit with the timing index and if you've ready this far leave a comment with 'ace cakes' at the end. No idea why, just some fun.

Qu-Bit Prism // Stereo Eurorack Multidimensional Signal Processor
Published on Apr 24, 2019 DivKidVideo
"Qu-Bit say that Prism "is a multidimensional signal processor that creates a framework for the spectral metamorphosis of any input signal" and "Prism blurs the lines between DSP effect, filter, and looper and transcends into a new realm of uncharted audio processing." At it's core Prism is 3 things (all in stereo) a filter, a delay/comb and a decimator. The filter is multimode and can be place pre/post the other FX, the delay can do long echoes, slap-back and comb filter FX as well as a clocked delay mode, decimate is downsampling and bit crushing and you can freeze/loop the audio buffer too.

Endorphin.es BLCK NOIR (7 analogue drums with VCF, modulation, performance controls, FX & more!)
Published on Sep 6, 2018 DivKidVideo
"**TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW** Here's the new BLCK_NOIR from Endorphin.es. It's a 7 voice drum module with 7 all analogue and discrete circuit drum voices. There's kick, snare, tambourine, closed and open hi hats, metallic beat and cymbal. Endorphin.es say this is fine tuned for Darkwave and Techno but you can of course use it for a wide range of styles. It's got a classic early/vintage drum machine vibe similar to the CR-78 in nature but with a few updates. You can tune and adjust the length of the kick (as well as saturate the mix out with it) there's tuning and noise level / noise decay for the snare then 5 additional noise based voices that share blend controls to adjust from white or metallic noise and you can also bit crush these for further variation. There's CV inputs for noise blend, bit crush, bass drum decay and snare decay/noise. There's an on board isolator style filter that will low pass and high pass and a resonance control both with CV. You can clock the module which allows you to play fills holding the drum buttons and as a secondary function with no clock you can finger drum or mute those parts too. There's a bonus sample and hold generated when the module is clocked (great to patch back into the module). Not only can you trigger the drums but you can also control them with an on board VCA accepting 0-5V to control the velocity of each sound. There's individual outs, a mono mixed out, a stereo line level / headphones out and those 8 great 'Airways' FX we've seen in the Grand Terminal. There's a lot to get through so watch in full or skip around with the sections below which will link you to each part of the demo. Cheers! :)

Introducing drumlogue, the first hybrid drum machine from Korg
video upload by Korg
Update: two new user videos by Honeysmack and Marcus Schmahl added below.
"Combining the rich power of analog with the flexibility of digital, drumlogue provides the ultimate analog sound for your beats.
Featuring newly developed analog circuitry, drumlogue builds a solid foundation for your track; it also helps you stand out with an elevated harmonic richness and thick low end.
Important parameters for each part have dedicated controls on the front panel for quick and intuitive changes – without diving into menus. For even more creative potential, each part has a wealth of further parameters accessible through a powerful onboard editing suite. Even mixing is simple, with dedicated volume controls for the analogue and digital parts.
The track you hear in this video is by Dean Forrest"

New Korg Hybrid Drum Machine Drumlogue - Honeysmack's first encounter video upload by Honeysmack
"Get ready for a super nerd session, no talking just me tinkering with the Korg drumlogue for the very first time. Korg Australia were kind enough to give me a play with a sneak preview pre-production model of the drumlogue. Unfortunately I had no manual at the time, so please excuse me in advance. Hopefully this video provides some context to its sound. I feel this will be a winner for Korg, well done! Great sound, neat size, this could be a monster of a machine.
All the sounds and effects in this video are from the drumlogue, there are no external sounds or effects. Simple stereo output from the drum machine. No other drum machines were hurt in the making of this video.

Details and pics:
A paradigm shift in drum machines.
drumlogue marks a paradigm shift in drum machines. It offers the raw power and rich sounds of Analog, the flexibility of Digital voices, and drumlogue’s SDK for fully customizable User Custom Synthesizers.
On top of that, its heavy-duty, dynamic sequencer, customizable effects, and intuitive controls will make drumlogue a must-have in your studio to create music for any genre or style.
It’s time to take your beats and entire musical process to a whole new creative level with incredible sounds, effects, customization, and sequencing. Let drumlogue support your craft on your musical journey!
Raw Analog Power
drumlogue was conceived to provide the ultimate analog sound for your beats, and delivers fantastically; featuring completely newly developed analog circuits by legendary Korg analog synth team engineer Junichi Ikeuchi (ARP 2600 M, MS-20 mini, ARP Odyssey…) , the depth and richness of its sound is on a whole new level.
These new analog circuits - (Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Low Tom and High Tom) - will not just provide a solid foundation for your track, but make it stand out with an elevated harmonic richness and a thick low end.
Blending simplicity and ease of use, the most important controls for each of these parts have dedicated knobs on the front panel that can be tweaked at any time without any menu diving necessary, so you can quickly and intuitively fine tune your sound on the fly.
For further sound exploration, each part provides many more parameters accessible through the powerful onboard sound editing system.
Last but not least, each part on drumlogue - analog or digital - has a dedicated volume knob that will make your mixing process incredibly smooth and easy.
Digital Flexibility
As the perfect partner for its analog section, drumlogue provides 7 digital parts; 6 sample based and 1 synthesis based (Multi-Engine). The sample based parts can play any of the preloaded PCM banks on drumlogue. You can also import your own User Samples to its memory, making drumlogue an extremely versatile machine with virtually limitless sonic possibilities.
To start with, the 64 preloaded drum kits of drumlogue will provide you with a wide variety of sounds spanning several genres so you can easily kick-start your tracks.
For additional sounds, samples can easily be easily loaded into the drumlogue just by connecting your drumlogue to your computer via USB and simply drag-dropping your samples onto the main memory.
Multi-Engine and logue SDK
The popular Multi Engine from prologue and minilogue xd is now more powerful than ever. In addition to the Variable Phase Modulation (VPM) and Noise generator engines, the Multi Engine features a new User Custom slot that can play full-fledged synth voices that provide vast sonic possibilities, never before heard on a drum machine.
Custom Synths
drumlogue’s synth voices are not simply static waveforms. Custom synths can be built to not only generate sound, even implementing built in filters, LFOs, MIDI controlled polyphony or other parameters is now possible The only restriction for third party developers is their creativity (and CPU usage!), giving you unbound sound exploration.
Exclusive Sinevibes Synth Plugin “Nano”
Korg has collaborated with popular logueSDK plugin developer “Sinevibes” to include a brand new synth plugin “Nano” as a factory preset on drumlogue. This exclusive plugin explores the power behind the expanded Multi Engine and will give all drumlogue users a taste of this new platform.
“Nano” is a full-fledged virtual analog synth with a wide array of features and plenty of customizable parameters. The synth engine has dual oscillators with optional ring modulation, a 4-pole state-variable filter with soft clipping distortion, built-in EG and built-in multi-waveform LFO.
Leads, basses, percussive sounds or cinematic effects, you decide how to use this incredible sonic potential!
A True Sequencing Powerhouse
drumlogue harnesses all of its sonic power to an extremely powerful internal sequencer that is flexible and easy to use.
Tired of the same old beats? drumlogue's heavy duty 64 step sequencer makes it easy and intuitive to create complex rhythm patterns and polyrhythms that elevate your music creation process with innovative features such as per-step probability, per-step alternate trigger patterns, per-step micro offsets, per-track groove patterns and much more.
Thanks to its clear OLED display, it is also very easy to visually follow and edit your sequences.
drumlogue is both great in the studio and playing live. With its Chain mode, creating long and interesting patterns is straightforward and clearly displayed. In Loop mode you can switch between several variations to play your sequence in new and interesting ways. The Motion and Accent recording functions are intuitive and fast and if you want to try new things on your track, the Randomization function is there to help you. These functions and many more on the drumlogue will support and spice up your live performances!
Effects and customization
drumlogue includes several high-quality effects across three categories that can be used simultaneously: Delay, Reverb and Master effects.
The send amounts for delay and reverb effects can be set independently for each part, and multiple return points are available.
The master effects allow you to add that final polish to your sound and bring it all together. Master effects can be bypassed on a per-part basis, making it possible to send the effect to specific audio parts. A sidechain bus is also available to master effects which can make use of it.

Robust American Patches for the Korg Prologue
Published on Feb 10, 2019 Robust American Patches
1. Robust American Patches EDMDROP1 Demonstration Video 1
This video only demonstrates 1 patch, "InstaSimmons" Korg. It's called InstaSimmons because the snare reminds me a little of the classic electronic drum brain by the Simmons folks. The kick is a little more heavy handed. The audio was recorded directly into Nuendo via the Audient ASP-880. The sounds in this series of videos are as raw as can be. No extra sweetening of any kind. And no talking. Just me struggling to play something half interesting. For more info or to purchase these sounds visit https://www.robustamericanpatches.com/2. Robust American Patches EDMDROP1 Demonstration Video 2
This is Part 2 for EDMDROP1 and only demonstrates 1 Patch. It's a lot to demonstrate though. It's a 3 piece drum kit. Kick, Snare and Hats. The kick drums play a pattern, created by combining the LFO and Arpeggiator, if you hold sustained notes. The hats and snares are doing 16ths via the other layer's LFO if you play sustained notes. The audio was recorded directly into Nuendo via the Audient ASP-880. The sounds in this series of videos are as raw as can be. No extra sweetening of any kind. And no talking. How does the Waldorf Kyra Sound? - 11 Custom Patches [No Talking]
Published on Nov 10, 2019 Marshal Arnold
"How does the Waldorf Kyra Sound? - 11 Custom Patches [No Talking]
Tonight I play through 11 custom patches I've created with the Waldorf Kyra VA Synthesizer, with no talking. All sounds were created from scratch on the Waldorf Kyra starting from Init. All effects are from the Waldorf Kyra itself, no external processing was done, these are single timber patches performed in real time. All sounds from the Waldorf Kyra have been recorded via the USB connection to a Windows PC into Ableton Live @ 4800kHZ."
Waldorf Kyra - 6 Part Multi - "Maximum Effort" [Full Track]
Published on Oct 22, 2019 Marshal Arnold
"Tonight I debut a 6 part multitimbral tune created with 6 timbers from the Waldorf Kyra streaming via 8 channels through the USB connection into Ableton Live. All 6 Kyra patches are custom patches made by me. I used percussion from the Roland Cloud including the TR-909 and TR 808. I also used a moded kick from Kick 2 and a single synth line from Omnisphere 2.
For arpeggiators I used the BlueARP plugin. Effects were part from the Kyra and part 3rd party effects. Some Kyra synth timbers were routed into Ableton dry and layered with delay, reverb and sidechain within Ableton.
This performance was done to demo some sounds and abilities of the Waldorf Kyra in a studio setting, I hope you enjoy the Kyra demo!"

Oberheim TEO-5 vs OB-6 vs OB-X8 // which synth is BEST?
video upload by Miles Away
"Shootout / comparison of the three high end analog synthesizers from Oberheim / Sequential. Which should you get?
All 3 synths were recorded direct into UAD Apollo 16 interface with no EQ or pre-amp coloring. While I did my best to level match all 3 of the synths, these are analog instruments with a high variance in dymanic range, so at some points, one synth will sound louder than others. For example, the OB-6 sometimes sounds louder than the others, because of its inherently hotter levels driving into its internal mixer, despite reading similar levels on the meter. It's a fine balance to get the levels close, without overcompressing the master audio file, so I went for as transparent of a recording as possible, so keep that in mind if you have issues with level matching.

M-Audio Venom - Venomous to the Maximus [NO TALKING DEMO]
Published on Apr 14, 2020 Marshal Arnold
"M-Audio Venom - Venomous to the Maximus [NO TALKING DEMO]
Almost 10 years go M-Audio released their first synthesizer the Venom (2011). Sadly, this was also their last Synthesizer, at least to date. I remember being super jazzed about this synth after seeing videos at NAMM and seeing demos from Sonic State and others.
I had sold mine many years ago after being super disappointed in it and seems as though I was not alone. These synths now go for about $100.00-150.00 USD. When new they were quite a bit more. Anyway I picked one up about a year ago to have some fun, this video is a no talking demo of some of the performance presets. I moded a few of these, but ll audio is direct from the M-Audio Venom, no post processing was done."

RS056 Casio FZ-1: Ferris' new synth
video upload by rejected synths
No talking demo video below.
"I’ve acquired my Casio FZ-1 quite a while ago and other than installing a floppy disk emulator, I hadn’t used it much before starting this video. Disks taking forever to load and the mostly mediocre patches I found online made me neglect this wonderful machine at first.
But from all the praise I read online and the very few videos that actually existed, I already knew that there had to be something special about the FZ-1. Countless hours later, I now understand that this sampler/synth really is a very capable machine that offered stuff in 1987 that must have been way ahead of it’s time back then. Not only is the, admittedly tiny by today’s standards, graphic display a great help when editing samples, Casio’s engineers really went out of their way to add as many features they could think of in terms of wave editing and creation. They even went as far as adding the possibility to expand the capabilities of the machine even further by additional tools that can be loaded as programs from a floppy disk.
The FZ-1 has unique analog filters, is 8 voice polyphonic and has 8 individual outs that can be assigned freely, filter cutoff can be midi controlled, it has a very nice low end and is built like a tank.
Yet nobody seems to care at all!
Yes it’s crazy how the fact that it says Casio on the back has kept this wonderful machine from receiving much praise at all, even second hand prices are FAR lower than those of comparable machines of the same era. It is said, that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. For me the FZ-1 has really turned out to be real gem :)"

AN UNEXPECTED PATH FORWARD
Labyrinth introduces a classic West Coast sound into the Mother Ecosystem experience rich analog synthesizer history in both surprising and recognizable sonic textures. Two generative sequencers bring to life sounds that bloom over time, letting you control their evolution and scale, then play them off of each other for striking polymetric melodies.
With parallel analog signal paths, this adventurous instrument shines when adding color to the steady backdrop of a drum pattern or bassline.
GENERATIVE SEQUENCER
The beating heart of Labyrinth is a robust dual sequencer, which uses chance calculations to generate two unique eight-step paths which twist and curve around one another.
SONIC WANDERING
A parallel voice processing path with a voltage-controlled blending allows you to morph sounds over time.
VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED WAVEFOLDER
A fresh interpretation of the Moog sound via a voltage-controlled wavefolder. Two oscillators drive duophonic melodic counterpoints, metallic FM tones, and analog synthetic drums.

The heart of the Labyrinth is the sequencer section. A dual 8-step sequencer gives you interactive quantized melodies that can affect various parameters, based on the labeled trimmers. These sequencers send out both notes CV and triggers and with a Trig Mix you can get rhythmic interplay that is quite satisfying. Each sequencer has a Length settings and a Bit Shift when adjusts the position of activated steps. The Bit Flip and Corrupt parameters present gives you more randomness and serendipity allowing you to create evolving patterns.
As with all of their semi-modular synths, Moog gives you access to 32 patch point patchbay with 12 outputs and 20 inputs. This gives you the option to self-patch and integrate it into your existing Eurorack ecosystem. Moog's Labyrinth is the perfect expansion to your existing system or a great starting point as an entry to modular synthesis, especially for those who are looking to get expressive rhythmic patterns quickly.

Synths No Talking: GS E7 Synthesizer Linnstrument MPE and Expressive E Osmose MPE
video upload by Synths No Talking
"The GS E7 and Linnstrument.
Many don't know the GS E7 analog synth fully supports MPE. I have used it with the linnstrument. Enjoy the weirdness.
Disclosure: I paid for these instruments on my own and were not provided by any single maker. The music is improvised and I own all content."
Synths No Talking: GS E7 and Expressive E Osmose MPE
"Another MPE Video with the GS E7, featuring the Expressive E Osmose.
Not going to lie, as much as I love the linnstrument, I think the Osmose is a better fit for the GS E7."
