1. Cherry Audio Chroma: A demo + tutorial of an elusive analog synth - CatSynth TV - Patreon
We take a deep dive into Cherry Audio's new Chroma, a meticulous recreation of the legendary and elusive Rhodes Chroma. It was a polyphonic analog synthesizer that came with some unique features, notably the ability to reconfigure the signal path among its oscillators, filters, and VCAs, opening up a wider range of sound possibilities. Cherry Audio's version combines these features with a modern user interface that allows direct manipulation of the parameters (unlike the original with a single data slider), and adds a full-featured effects section. We go over the expansive feature set of this instrument, showing you how each feature works and how to use them to make your own sounds.

11/16/23 Metasonix R-56 + Birdkids Unicorn Boom + Gieskes VU Perc + TR-606 + Tapco 4400 + CXM 1978 video upload by Cfpp0
"If not for Metasonix, I would never have bought any eurorack. Metasonix is a legendary company, producing legendary products. And, of them, this R-56 is amongst the rarest.
The R-56 has been out of production for years, and will never be re-released. We’ve all asked. The parts are simply not available. So these are rare, and expensive.
It’s a WTF sort of module. A spring reverb you can voltage control. It has a unique sound, even within the Metasonix realm. Customers complained about wanting MORE gain, said the great Tube Pioneer, so this module has it. That insane gain, plus the ability to feedback an electromechanical spring reverb, make it a module that requires finesse (and maybe an attenuator, or matrix mixer). If you are impatient, or unfamiliar with Metasonix‘s quirks, please pass on this listing. It’s odd. Really weird. Also it requires a lot of power for the cold inrush, power on, tube warm up, so you’ll need a nice beefy power supply like an RKP or Trogotronic.
The video in this listing’s photo section features the sound of this exact module.
More likely, you’ve been longing for this, but the blood sport that is Metasonix’s secondary market has kept you from your dark distorted springy dreams. Realize them now. Live them. Buy."

"The Michigan Synth Works MSW-810 is a replica of a Roland analog monosynth from 1983, a cousin of the much more famous MC-202. But it has its own distinct sound, somewhat beefy and powerful, reminiscent of even earlier Roland synths from the seventies. What will happen when the MSW-810 meets modern replicas of vintage Boss chorus pedals? Let's find out!
Putting in a cameo appearance is the Michigan Synth Works SY0.5, a eurorack adaptation of the vintage Pearl Syncussion. Everything controlled by two Launchpads together with some custom SuperCollider patches.

"Our design goal for Sealegs was to create the warmest, most musical and organic delay module possible — something that would sweeten and enhance any audio one chose to feed into it. As such, great care has gone into modeling the most distinctive and desirable sonic characteristics of three different types of delay circuits: Tape, Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital. A plethora of onboard controls enable you to dial in exactly the sound you want; synced or un-synced delays times (for both left and right channels); saturating input drive; a built-in modulator with 7 morphing waveshapes, Wow & Flutter emulation, and an envelope follower; plus dedicated low- and high-pass filters; built-in hiss & crackle noises; per-model color controls; a spacious reverb; and a re-configurable signal flow through the unit. In addition, attenuverted modulation inputs abound — ensuring the delay ebbs and flows with your musical needs.
Features: - Three Unique delay models — Tape, Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital - Per-model Color, Modulation behavior, and Saturation/Limiting - True Stereo delay with separate L/R buffers - Three Stereo configurations (PONG, Time/Width, L/R) - Three Range variations for short Chorus/Flanger style delays to Long ambient repeats. - Up to 6(L) and 8(R) seconds of delay time (Width can add up to 33% to Time) - Built-in modulator with Wow & Flutter, Envelope Follower, and 7 morphing wave shapes - Lush 1970s-inspired reverb with 3 insert positions. - Saturating input drive with level trim - Stable external clock (or tap tempo) sync for Delay Times or Modulation - Highpass and Lowpass filters for filtered repeats - Freeze functionality for holding the buffer and looping - Nine CV inputs with attenuverters - 96 kHz 24-bit Stereo I/O and 32-bit floating point internal processing"

"'Atmospheric Lo-Fi' is a collection of 50 performances for Korg Wavestate.
It includes: 8 Basses, 8 Keys, 7 Pads, 6 Strings, 6 Synths, 5 Leads, 5 Brasses, 5 Plucks. The soundset is devoted to Lo-Fi sound and its colors: detuned, noisy, tape-style, vintage, old, bit-crushed, warm-analog, cold-digital...
Each preset has thoroughly set performance controls: ModWheel, 8 Macros, X/Y Vector Envelope. They may change the color of a timbre greatly: from thin, dull, distant, narrow, to bright, wide, and thick. They may change the shape of the timbre and add movement. You must tweak all the controls to understand the full potential of a preset. Thus, the timbres will fit many genres, styles, arrangements, and mixes.
- Thoroughly set parameters and modulations. - All 8 Performance Knobs/Macros are assigned to different parameters. They give changes from subtle to dramatic. - Vector Envelope changes color of a timbre. - ModWheel adds expression. - No external/additional samples are required. - Performances' volumes are equalized for a comfortable browsing. - Suitable for Ambient, IDM, Cinematic, Deep, Progressive, House, Techno, Chill Out, Downtempo, Lounge, Hip Hop, R'n'B, Pop, Experimental, Breaks, D'n'B, Industrial and other genres...
No drums are included in the soundset.

"Can two Erica Synths DB-01 Bassline machines achieve Subharmonicon-style ambience? They are wildly different in design and capabilities but the DB-01s can do a surprisingly good impression of "meandering ambience". Here I run through the entire setup and tweaks with less talking as the video goes on. What I did find is that the wonderful Polivoks filter won't be denied and the machines seemed to naturally gravitate to grit and filth and finally ended up in dark ambient territory. For contrast listen at 4:35 and then jump to 20:20. Both machines are running through the same Fabfilter Pro-R reverb setting at a 25% mix.
PS: The focus becomes steadily softer through the video. Why? Who knows, but it's the last time that camera will fail me. Next time, a new camera.

Very first improvisation after one year of restoration work.
Ok that was a lie: it was my third improv. The first one was utterly magical and was not recorded; at one time the synth spoke to me, I swear! That was a couple of days ago. The second improv happened yesterday and wasn't all that great. So you'll have to do with this third one as a first encounter. In the notes of John Williams: d4-e4-c4-c3-g3.
With due apologies for the length and randomness of the improv; the CS60 universe envelops you and before you know it you're 40 minutes in.

"On its surface, the Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) is just a pair of slew generators, with separate rise and fall times. In reality, it can be configured and cross-patched to perform a number of different functions, including envelope generator (from AD to multi-stage), LFO, VCO, subharmonic divider, waveshaper (including filter-like responses), and even an envelope follower. Each of the movies in this playlist demonstrate one of those functions.
In this set of movies, I’ll be using the Serge-authorized Random*Source Eurorack version that includes many popular modifications and upgrades to the original Serge module; some of these techniques can also be used with other slope and function generator modules like Maths, Rampage, Falistri, and more.
For even more information about modules like these (including optional access to my courses) as well as many other modular-related topics, please consider joining my Learning Modular Patreon channel: https://www.patreon.com/LearningModular"
This first movie gives an overview of the DUSG, including default settings so you don’t get lost before you get started. Then I’ll demonstrate using it as a slew generator, including how to create different response curves by using its built in control voltage feedback.

The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) and some of its derivatives can be patched and configured to perform as a pair of attack/decay or attack/release generators. The two sides can also be cross-patched to create more complex envelope shapes, such as ADASR:
00:00 initial setup
00:54 attack/decay envelope
01:56 voltage control of Rise and Fall times
03:25 envelope shapes
07:13 attack/sustain/release envelope

3. Random*Source Serge DUSG 3/7: LFOs (LMS EE)
The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) and some of its derivatives can be configured to function as an LFO with variable wave shape. You can also cross-patch both sides to create more complex shapes:
00:00 initial setup
00:23 patching the LFO function
01:10 bipolar (BP) output on the R*S DUSG
02:14 Cycle switch on the R*S DUSG
02:34 wave shapes
03:13 patching complex LFO shapes
4. Random*Source Serge DUSG 4/7: VCOs (LMS EE)
The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) and some of its derivatives can be configured to function as a VCO with pulse and variable wave shape outputs:
00:00 initial setup
00:42 pulse wave oscillator on the R*S DUSG
03:07 variable waveshape oscillator
The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) and some of its derivatives can be patched to create subharmonics – including suboctaves – from another oscillator’s square wave. These can track the keyboard, with the harmonic division depending on the Rise and Fall times as well as the frequency of the guide oscillator:
The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG) and some of its derivatives can be patched to act as a variable waveshaper for another oscillator. The new shape can track the keyboard, can vary depending on the note you are playing, or can be enveloped to create filter-like effects:
