Using apps that don't support Audiobus with Audiobus NOW

Published on Dec 18, 2012 by RyanHemeon

"This is my first ever tutorial style video. Showing how easy it is to use apps that don't support Audiobus (yet) with Audiobus now by using two devices, a guitar interface, and a 3.5mm cord.

The apps I used were:
Audiobus - A Tasty Pixel
Alchemy - Camel Audio
Ampkit - Peavey/Agile Partners
Sir Sampleton - Softoft Techech
JamUp Pro - Positive Grid

I don't own the rights to any of the apps I used. Please look them up on the appstore, buy them and be blown away. :-)

As for the Guitar interface, I am using iRig (with tape to cover the logo), but I don't recommend it. It was the only one available to me where I live. Please buy something else.

"plog comprises two programmable logic sections (select one of six different 3 input boolean logic types) as well as a toggle flipflop and data flipflop block. all four sections are linked together via specially planned normals.

specifications:8hp and skiff friendly

this module was primarily designed as an interesting tool to be used with sequencers. you can derive complex rhythmic sequences from basic sparse sources (e.g. from a simple gate sequence or clock). by adding vc control of the logic types via some kind of cv source like a triggered envelope, lfo or sequencer you produce even more complex results.this module can also be used in many other creative applications including making interesting timbres and for self generating patches..."

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"From Blacet:
The Blacet FX3030 is a DSP dual effect module featuring eight different classic effects, each coupled with a reverb
effect.
The effects are: echo (delay), echo with repeats (regeneration), chorus, flanger, phase shifter, tremolo, vibrato, and
auto wah, which is a level dependent filter.
Four voltage control inputs can be used to select the effect type, two parameters of the effect and the reverb level.
Input and Output Level controls allow matching the module to a wide range of signal levels typical in a modular
synthesizer environment. An LED monitors the clipping level."

Dreaming of the future and reflecting the past

Published on Dec 22, 2012 by skoulaman

"Yes, that's what came in my mind when I was playing this track.
This track reflects my mind and my good old studio (I had a lot of technical problems with it the last few weeks). It's the last track of this year and a good reflection after 4 years YT vids. The future brings new changes and challenges.
About the track:
It started whit a Doepfer Dart Time generated sequence (Moog LP and the Waldorf micro Q), a lovely Kawai K1r flute, at ± 2:00 the strings of the Korg 03R/W, at ± 4:00 a FM.piano from the DS8, at 7:15 the MG1 Concertmate, at ± 9:00 the combinated lush sound of the Juno 106 and the 03R/W and at ± 10:00 a DS8 solo. Between are the strings of the good old Korg Lambda.

I wish everbody the best for next year, in health, friendship and family.

Thx listening,
greetings Hans 'Skoulaman'."

Turning the Traditional Piano Into an Electro-Acoustic TECHNO MACHINE

PIANO M.U.S.C.L.E (piano techno study #5)

Published on Dec 22, 2012 by Leon Michener

"In this study the piano is prepared by inserting "m.u.s.c.l.e. men", (cool figurines from the 80's) between the strings, as well as my normal preparation for creating the low kick drum sound. To my delight others lounging around nearby inside the Piano case started leaping around due to the vibrating strings.......and luckily were captured on film by "mild eye". All live solo piano playing, no multi-tracking or looping devices allowed. Scores available on request.

Taken from a series of piano pieces exploring the notion that the traditional piano can create sounds and textures which are normally only found in dance and electronic music. Drum, percussion and bass are created by inserting various objects such as wood, metal and Blu-Tak between the strings and are played "sequencer" style in the left hand while the right adds polymetric patterns and isorhythms of varying length. No looping device is used, the idea being everything is "live" and played in real time, the piano as "modern one-man-band-electro-acoustic-orchestra"....

The piano spans the centuries, traditional technique melding with modern sound design in real time.
By adding a Moog analog delay, analog filter and playing in a strictly rhythmic, quasi mechanistic way the piano can also be transformed into a unique acoustic/electronic live "human techno sequencer" device......

Musical cybernetics, absorbing the machines "feel" that has shaped much of modern electronic music into the biological pianistic mechanism."

Tiptop Audio BD909 Details

"The name might be misleading because, yes in some knob positions you will get the classic 909 kick, but there is way more in there, it's really a little bass drum lab with a lot of sweet spots. It can go low, high/smooth/harsh, and anywhere in between; it can also go weird with the VC inputs. If you are used to the BD808 then this will take a bit to get used to because it is a different beast, although with some adjustment you might get close sounds. The pcb is very dense with a lot of circuitry and it wasn't easy to fit all that in there but it sure was worth the challenge. We are making a short run for Christmas that's starting to ship today, but will have more ready to ship in January.

Features:

Output Level - 0 - 10V

Original 909 Attack control

Extended 909 Decay control for more umphhh

New controls for the oscillator tuning:

Attack tune

Decay Tune - these two will have an effect on each other which makes it really cool

Global Oscillator Tune control - this sets an offset for the oscillator, sets the starting frequency for the envelope

VC-Tune with attenuator (can go over a wide range)

Overload knob - might not be everyone's cup of tea, what it does is overload the sine shapers which adds harmonics and some extra punch, it's an aggressive effect.

VC - Overload - Can be CV or even audio

Accent in - can be with a pulse or CV 0 - 5V

Accent Attenuator

Gate in

Price: $170

Size: 8HP"

NoiseTheorem - A New Cycle & Dust by NoiseTheorem

Published on Dec 21, 2012 by Tony Scharf

"The world only ended for those who made profit from the Mayan calendar stupidity. Meanwhile, I am starting a new 'cycle' of my own in working on beginning work on my next album.

You can find my recent release, Dust, on BandCamp (http://noisetheorem.bandcamp.com/album/dust) as well as iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon

This is my first attempt at a performance video, and I have no good tools for this. Please be kind."

"Your hearing the Makenoise DPO modulated by a Hertz Donut and into Makenoise EchoPhone. The feedback loop on the Echo is patched through a Bubble Sound SEM20 filer. An Axe-FX is being used for basic chorus and reverb. Sequencing is the Doepfer DarkTime. There is some manipulation of VCAs and the like in there too."

"Have you ever really though about time? Not just seconds or minutes or hours, but deep time - timescales where a million years is a blink of an eye. Have you ever thought about how truly old you are?

We are a conglomeration of dust from perhaps millions of dead stars, galaxies apart. When our star dies and blasts our little speck of planet back out into the universe, it will be just another renewal. Like blowing the dust off a table so that it can settle once again.

We are dust.
