Hello all,

So my quest to build a new live set progresses further. I had a few different goals when I contemplated the style for my next show. I knew I wanted to use the VT-3 for robot vocals, I knew I wanted to do a cover and I knew I wanted to remain upbeat and funky. This song seemed like a no brainer. Me, a performer by the name of Robots Against Children doing a song by two other robots called ROBOT ROCK?! Too perfect. hehe.

I tried to pay good respect to the original here but I also tried to make it my own. About half way through you'll see I gave it my own flavor.

Still dialing in the mix in places but that's alright, the point of this is to be live and fun, not studio perfect.

Minor Adjustment to the MATRIXSYNTH Header on Top of the Site

So, apparently the last "H" in MATRIXSYNTH was wrapping to a new line on Android devices. I adjusted the header to be slightly smaller so it hopefully no longer does. If you are on Android, and it still wraps, let me know. For everyone else, I just wanted to let you know you weren't losing your mind, and yes the header does looks ever so slightly different. BTW, you might have noticed the new book thumbnails above, to the right and at the bottom of the site and posts. Use them! I'm doing a little site optimization at the moment, so if you notice any changes, that's likely it. I won't be putting up a new post for every tweak I make as that would be too much noise and I'm guessing, as long as things work you are good. That said, if anything does break on your end let me know.

Just wanted to test it with my Ditto X2 Looper, and there was a melody in my head, so i turned the camera on, and there it is. Its just me fooling arround with the looper, sorry for some mistakes in playing, im just testing it, and im simply amazed about the sound of Strymon. Hope you like it too and share and subscribe, thanx!!!! As usual, no DAW and no computer are involved, no remastering, just pure analogue sound.

"This demo is another example of what can be produced using vintage and new analogue synthesizers and modulars trough connection of CV and triggers. The vintage synthesizers are the incredible Moog Minimoog Model D and Roland vocoder VP 330 plus, the Roland SH2 and Korg Polysix . You will also hear the RMF Elsita drumsynthesizer, the Arturia Microbrute and Korg Monotribe. A Pittsburgh modular with some additional modules from Doepfer and Trouby complete the sound.
Mixing and FX is done by two Behringer mixers, an Alesis Microverb 3 and a Small Stone phaser. The used mike for the vocoder is a Shure PG57.
I don't use midi. No prerecording used.

"PAIA 2720 analog synth. Well constructed to still be working after all these years. I cleaned it up, turned it on, made a simple patch, checked the oscillators and the noise. They work. The Control Oscillator module also functions. Voltage Control Amp, Low Pass and Band Pass seem to work as well, though with my limited experience, full functionality may not be there.

That being said, the synth sounds amazing, in a gritty, lo-fi way. Ran it through effects, and it really cuts. Capable of some nice drones and ambient textures as well as leads.

All keys work at the moment. Comes with original manuals and patch cables. Physically in excellent shape. Some of the lettering has peeled off. I've seen some people write on them with sharpie, but I will leave that up to you, the new owner."

Yet another Coron drum synth clone. What's bizarre is the Grant logo and design differs from this one. Why?


"A rare japanese made analog drum synth, exactly like the Coron DS7 and the now many countless clones.

It's in good working order with only a few blemishes here and there.

The three top knobs are missing the silver caps and the sensitivity knob I suspect is non original.

9v Battery operated, It works simply by clamping onto any drum rim and the internal sensor responds to the drum hit, alternatively a light tap on the side generates the hit to provide all sorts of fx bleeps and bloops."

Some really nice improvements here, and aswell, a little tweak of the interface.

The Mixer and Send Effect command routing has been revised,
All “Decay” knobs have been recalibrated. The values are more accurate,
In random mode, sample selectors knobs indicate the value of the sample triggered in real time,
Addition of a “solo” button on each tracks, for momentary cut of the related track,
The Global Pitch acts now downstream of all the other pitch parameters (pitch per track and pitch step sequencer)
