"On this episode of One Minute Synthesizer Reviews I take a look at one of my favorite types of synths, the vocoder. So let's see how the Roland VP-03 Vocoder stacks up!"
"The first in hopefully a series of classic 808 tracks using the Roland Boutique TR-08. Also the first video since I got the Social Entropy Engine. Hope you enjoy it!

Today I present the Roland RE-201 Space Echo audio demo w/ synthesizers and a TR-8 drum machine. The RE-201 is a vintage delay effect from the 70s using a tape loop and Spring tank reverb. It's been used on lots of psychedelic rock, trip hop, alternative, dub, progressive house music and more. The Space Echo is the only effect used in this demo. This machine has a new 4 meter loop. It also has some wow and flutter, I love that lo-fi quality of this machine. All audio recorded direct to a Tascam DR-05 thru a Mackie mixer. Gear used here: Roland Juno-1/JV-2080/SH-01A/TR-8, Korg MS-20 mk1, E-mu ES-32 (Yamaha CP-70 sample), Arturia Beatstep Pro, M-Audio Axiom49.
0:00 Radiohead - Lotus Flower, spring tank reverb on snare only
1:00 Introduction
1:43 Portishead - Cowboys, delay on electric piano
2:30 M83 - Skin of the Night, delay on CP-70 piano sample
2:59 Quick explanation of inputs
3:15 Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle, delay on synth glissando
3:41 A look inside and beautiful ladies?
4:15 Tycho - Dive, delay on opening synth
5:18 How I'm using the RE-201 on these examples
5:53 Underworld - Born Slippy, delay on everything
7:13 About this particular machine

"In this video we take a look at how Plog works along with some ways that it can be used.
Plog is a voltage controlled logic and tap clock module in 8HP
The Plog module comprises two programmable logic sections (select one of six different 3 input boolean logic types) as well as a toggle flipflop and data flipflop block. all four sections are linked together via specially planned normals.
Features:
Dual 3-input logic blocks. input z is normalled to input y and y to x in order to allow 2-input and 1-input logic modes.
Bi-polar voltage control of the logic types for section a and b with dedicated attenuators (positive voltages move the type forward, negative in reverse) inputs x and y from logic block a normalled to inputs x and y of logic block B. Output B normalled to input of the toggle flipflop via jumpered normal (can be removed) on back of pcb.
Toggle flipflop has dedicated pushbutton for manual triggering of toggle state -if you hold the trigger button for about 1 second it will disable the trigger input jack and become a simple tap clock.
Output of t flipflop is normalled to clk input of d flipflop (inverse output of dflipflop also internally normalled to d input) so that by default the d section also acts as a toggle. this allows /2 and /4 clock dividing.
You can save or load the logic section as a preset for easy recall of patches.
Module can be run at audio rates in order to generate interesting digital sounds.
This module was primarily designed as an interesting tool to be used with sequencers. you can derive complex rhythmic sequences from basic sparse sources (e.g. from a simple gate sequence or clock). by adding vc control of the logic types via some kind of cv source like a triggered envelope, lfo or sequencer you produce even more complex results.
Plog can also be used in many other creative applications including making interesting timbres and for self generating patches."
"Another jam track towards my 4th album, A Distant Love for Life. The best jams will get some extra love for the final versions.
Elektron Digitakt is the heart of this track, suppling all hardware sequencing, drums and triggers all vocal samples. The Roland Boutique JP-08, JU-06 and Ensoniq ESQ1 are all sequenced via the Elektron Digitakt. The Microkorg and Korg Minilogue are played live."
"I`ve hooked up some old and new synths to a Boss RV-500 Reverb. This little box is packed with lots of creative stuff to push further synthesizers... Sounds good too. Lot`s of reverb here ;) All sounds come from the gear below and all "reverbations" form the RV-500.
Synths used: Roland JX-3P, SH-2000, JUNO-60, JD-Xi, TB-03 and the TB-09.

"The plan was to create a Blade Runner synth inspired song to celebrate the upcoming release of 'Blade Runner 2049'. Not sure if I accomplished that but at least it's atmospheric. ∞ The M32 is playing the lead. I added Valhalla Shimmer reverb as the effect."

"Finally got my hands on the new Novation Peak. Here I play the synth into Dpfaltsounds Sunday Guitar Template for mainstage. Altough the Peak has built in effects, I like to use the shimer reverb from this mainstage template."
Novation Peak and Strymon Big Sky

"This video is a demostration of how I used my Novation Peak with Strymon Big Sky. I find the Cloud, Shimmer, and hall are most useful, however there are so many other specail reverb types on this pedal that can be very cool."
"Los Angeles-based DKNG design studio is re-issuing three captivating art posters, which all share a theme of the expansiveness of modular synthesis. The trio were originally part of the SYNTH art shows at Moogfests 2010-2012. The updated versions of the original designs have been recreated with different color palettes. The studio is offering a limited run of 150 of each design, all of which are signed and numbered.
Fifty percent of the profits from the poster sale will be donated to the Bob Moog Foundation in support of our hallmark educational project, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool."

"'The Race' with Nina, Mia, Machi, and Sam
This song is a collaboration between my entire family. First I programmed the TR-808 drum pattern. Next I programmed the Juno 106 Bass Line via the Fantom G8 which is plugged into the MSQ-700 via MIDI. On MINI channel 2, I programmed the Juno 60 Arp pattern. Then I recorded the lead parts with the Jupiter 8 in Dual Mode on patch 12. The Jupiter 8 is plugged into the Eventide Space for some extra "Blackhole" feel. Next I had Nina sing into the VT-3. She wrote all the lyrics! I helped her with some of the melody parts. Mia, via the Wampa, played the flute part at the end of the tune. Machi played Ms. Powers. Mia and Nina played the runners. And I played the coach. It was nice to get out into the sun on this beautiful Sunday afternoon at the track. Thanks for watching! Please subscribe, share, and leave feedback. I love to hear from you. Nina will be posting this to her YouTube channel as well: awesomenina360

Please go check it out there and subscribe to her channel which has some cute Animal Jam stories and game strategies. :) Take care and have a wonderful week! Sam from machiwoomiapoo."

Since I have the SE-02, SH-01a and TR-08 inb the studio I just wanted to test how they interact with my modular, I was especially curious about the SH-01A which has CV/Gate outputs.
Brief sync setup patch notes:
Master clock is the TR-08, it sends MIDI out to the intellijel rack, and passes clock into the modular. Also on MIDI trhu from the modular case i have clock being sent on to the SE-02 which is set to slave/ext midi mode.
The SH-01a is sequencing the MI braids over its CV gate outputs, while taking an external MIDI clock from the intellijel uMIDI 1U interface. So it plays both its own meldody, plus the MI braids one (which is internally modulated to only play random notes from the original sequence).
Also the Qu-bit electronics octone gets it clock from theTR_08 via the uMIDI interface, and that sequences the MI rings which also is modulated by some LFOs in the rack.
All in all, they seem to interface pretty well.. and this could be a super cool live rig for those minimal sounds.
