Authentic Sound, Unmatched Clarity – Experience the raw power of vintage drum sounds, meticulously crafted and enhanced for crystal-clear quality without losing their classic soul.
Intuitive Design, Infinite Creativity – With its sleek, user-friendly interface, the DMX invites novices and seasoned professionals to explore, experiment, and express without bounds.

The Oberheim DMX drum machine has left an indelible mark on the soundscape of popular music, crafting the rhythmic foundation of timeless tracks across a spectrum of genres.

From the driving beats of New Order‘s “Blue Monday” and Madonna‘s “Holiday” to the foundational rhythms of Run-D.M.C.‘s “It’s Like That,” the infectious Phil Collins’ “Sussudio”, the seminal Hip Hop/Electro jam Davy DMX’s “One For The Treble” or the uplifting grooves of Eurythmics’ 1983 album, its influence is unmistakable. Even Daft Punk‘s “Discovery” album owes a nod to the DMX.

We included all of the original DMX sounds from its launch in 1981, as well as the updated DMX sounds introduced around 1983. We’ve complemented the DMX sound set with the DX and the Sequential Drumtraks ones plus many alternatives.

The DMX by GForce Software is more than a drum machine; it’s a declaration that the beats of the past are the heartbeat of the future. It’s designed for those who revere the rhythm legends of yesteryears but are eager to push the boundaries of what’s rhythmically possible tomorrow.

Jumpstart your creativity with a comprehensive collection of classic MIDI files. These carefully selected rhythms offer a nod to the iconic beats that have shaped music history, ready for you to re-imagine and integrate into your modern productions.

Finally, we’ve incorporated kits that capture the raw, unprocessed sound of a DMX/DX, as well as kits that are professionally produced and ready for immediate use in your productions.

Step into a world where vintage vibes and modern moves converge. With the GForce‘s Oberheim DMX, unleash patterns that pulsate with the lifeblood of classics, refined by the precision of modern technology.

Classic Sound, Modern Control: Dive into the original eight-part sound kit of the Oberheim DMX, now augmented with comprehensive control over pan, solo, mute, pitch, decay, analogue-style delay send, and the lush, spacious reverb send for each channel.
Masterful Manipulation: On the master channel, a multi-mode filter, distortion, and compressor offer the ultimate tools for adding depth, warmth, and punch. Sculpt your overall sound with precision, adding that sought-after character only found in vintage gear.
Recreate some of the most iconic beats or twist them into something uniquely yours, all while benefiting from the timeless sound that has defined the rhythm for generations.

It’s time to let your beats tell a story as timeless as music itself."

MIDI TOOLS VOLUME ONE by Philip Meyer

video uploads by Isotonik Studios

AVAILABLE HERE: https://isotonikstudios.com/product/midi-tools-by-philip-meyer/

"This is a collection of 12 devices for making rhythmic music in Ableton Live 12. They are some of the first Max for Live MIDI Tools, which is a new class of Live device that generates and transforms MIDI clips.

I’ve always liked to make complex rhythmic music, but in the past I found the piano roll in Live to be clunky and tedious to use. MIDI Tools resolve this problem by allowing us to create simple devices that automate processes that would be tedious or impossible to execute manually. Every device in this collection is designed to help you make exciting, novel rhythmic music quickly and playfully.

The 'quickly and playfully' is really important to me. For me, making electronic music has always been about getting a pattern running, listening to it, then tweaking it with whatever knobs and sliders are available to me. Working this way puts you in a sort of dialog with the machine, where you’re acting, then listening, then acting, then listening, and so forth. This process works best when the cycles are fast, which means that the tools have to be fun and easy to use. They have to deliver results quickly.

I could summarize the practical value of these tools with three statements:

They generate ideas to get my creativity flowing

They all you to create rhythms (such as nested rhythms, rallentandos, and polyrhythms) that are very difficult to create using the piano roll interface

They help you create variations on rhythmic and melodic ideas, to make your music varied and interesting. I’ve also found that the power of these devices really emerges when you use them in serial workflows. By this I mean that you start with some initial MIDI (maybe from a Generator, or maybe not), then process the MIDI with several different transformers.

You can see an example of a serial process in THIS VIDEO, in which I create some rhythmic containers using the Blocks generator, then used the Divs transformer to subdivide those containers to create a new rhythm, then used Feel to dial in the groove. There’s tons of ways to mix and match the devices, which means lots of space to develop your own favorite approaches.

These devices all work with Ableton 12’s new Scales feature. When a scale is enabled on the MIDI clip, the device will only produce notes that are in key. If you disable the scale, then you can work chromatically. The devices are also aware of Live’s themes, so your devices will always match the look and feel of your Live set."

"Monkey is a pocket sized Bluetooth MIDI keyboard. It has several built in unique MIDI effects, a drum machine and a looper. Each of the effects is equiped with 10 different algorithms. Monkey is optimised for low latency and low power consumption, enabling several months of usage without changing the battery. It connects to lots of hosts including macOS, OP-1F, ipadOS, Windows and Android.

We believe Bluetooth has great unutilized potential. But we can not tap into this without making Bluetooth very easy and practical to use, and providing high reliability. Monkey is our first product which taps into this. From our perspective we don't see a bunch of Bluetooth-centric MIDI devices on the market. This is the core idea from where Monkey originates from: lets make a device which only connects via Bluetooth and explore which new form factors and workflows spores out of this idea."

Additional SYNTH CITY Listings

"Fully functional Korg Delta, fun and easy to use synth that nails many classic sounds. Recently serviced and calibrated. The power transformer has been swapped from 100V (Japan) to a 120VAC unit for normal North America operation. Power supply fully recapped, noise free unit with lots of vibe! Works and sounds like it should. No issues.

Korg's Delta is an analog semi-poly synth/string machine, basically a slimmed down version of the Korg. Though limited in the range of sounds compared with other synths of the same genre, the sheer quality of the sound from this little beastie really does make it something of a marvel. Amazing retro synth strings and fat bass synth tones.

The synth is split into two sections, Strings and Synth, for which there are separate audio outputs along with a combined output for headphones or mixing. Each section has its own controls. The String section has two pitch sliders (16' and 8') along with two tone controls (Bass and Treble) and variable Attack and Release controls to modify the sound. The Synth section has four pitch sliders (16', 8', 4' and 2'). There is also a white noise generator along with a very effective 24dB/oct low pass filter (high pass and band pass options are included too) and full ADSR controls. The synth has no memory storage or MIDI, however it does has voltage control and gate ins and outs.

The string sounds are very basic but with its separate outputs and when mixed together with the polysynth you do get that classic 'layered' sound which is useful enough on this synth; and it's fully polyphonic, so you wont be running out of notes! There is a handy joystick to the left of the 49-note keyboard for pitch bending and modulation capabilities. The construction is solid and heavy partly due to the implementation of a wooden base but also because it was designed for heavy usage on the road. Added bonuses: noise modulation, stereo out (strings/synth split), and the ability to combine synth and strings or turn off oscillators in the mixer section."

4/24/24 (YLF 4, Op. 9, no. 2) Roland Jupiter 6 & RE-301 + Akai ME20A + Alesis Midiverb II

video upload by Cfpp0

"The left hand of Frédéric Chopin’s “Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, no. 2” is translated into a sequence by the Akai ME20A MIDI sequence arpeggiator and played back on the Roland Jupiter 6 (cross modulation). The Jupiter 6 audio output goes into the Alesis Midiverb II, with the input overloading. Tape echo from the Roland RE-301 is applied on the Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer."

4/26/24 Chopin’s “Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, no. 2” according to Akai ME20A & Roland Jupiter 6

"YLF plays the left hand of Frédéric Chopin’s 'Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, no. 2' again, but this time as chords, which the Akai ME20A translates into a Bach-icized sequence. The Roland Jupiter 6 is in SOLO mode first, until it is switched to POLY-1 at 1:17, with some wiggling of filter cutoff and resonance, and the sustain and release on envelope 2, throughout the video, particularly towards the end.

I Saw Tooth

video upload by Kaffimusic

"This is a video I have made for a live music video 'challenge' at the German synth forum sequencer.de. I won with that. But there was nothing to win but experience and honor.
The center of this setup is the MPC One. It plays just midi pattern that I composed beforehand for the GS Music E7, the small Roland and the Novation Peak. The Kurzweil is not controlled, but the E7 runs through the audio ins and is used as a FX processor with delay and reverb for the E7. The PC4 is just played with internal sounds here. Switches and sliders are either set to control internals, the E7 or the fx. I progammed a multi that is able to play the sounds via switch and control the fx as well.
The last pattern is a respectfully stolen melody of Ehsan Gelsi. The whole style of this live sequencing is the technique he shows in his videos."

Behringer K-2: Classical Vintage Patches. No Talk Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"Analog Classics is a collection of 50 patches: 18 Leads, 16 Basses, 16 Plucks for the semi-modular synthesizer Behringer K-2.

It includes famous sounds that are found in many electronic tracks, from vintage to modern, musical solo timbres; basses that will fit into any track or performance.

💈 The patches will add uniqueness to your music, featuring the characteristic sound introduced by the Behringer K-2.

🖲 Plucks are excellent for use with arpeggiators or sequencers. In most examples of this category, I utilize an arpeggiator. K-2 doesn’t have a built in arp/seq, but you may integrate your preferred arpeggiators or sequencers from your DAW or MIDI controller.

📩 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/k-2-...

📻 The presets are suitable for a variety of genres, including: ambient, electronica, IDM, deep, techno, house, progressive, trance, lounge, downtempo, pop, chill out, new age, cinematic, breaks, jungle, drum and bass, dub and others.

📚 The soundset is presented in the form of PDF-Document. Each page contains notes that explain how the patch works, what parameters are worth tweaking during playback, and how to develop the timbre during a performance. If you make all the settings consciously and try the things mentioned in the notes, you will learn a lot about the synth and discover its true depth.

🎛 To recreate these patches, you will need up to 2 patch cords.
There are audio examples of all patches inside the folder with the soundset.

Drums and pads from the video demo are not included into the soundset."
