"NOW PLAYING consists of 4 digitally-controlled synth voices, each voice running through a digitally-controlled analog filter, realized through 8 custom vactrols. The whole thing is housed in an attractive console case with vintage wrinkle finish and jewel pilot lamp. Data appears via an LCD display, and there's a speaker, output jack, USB port, and power jack for in/out stuff.

NOW PLAYING generates an endless series of tonal polyphonic notes with expressive envelopes and warm lo-fi sound on the internal speaker; cleaner output is available via the output jack.

Sequence of events:

Apply power to NOW PLAYING. USB works, but a wall outlet sounds better. NOW PLAYING is automatically on in USB mode.

If the PLAY switch is on, NOW PLAYING will calculate and play a preloaded routine, forever.

While the 'play' switch is off, NOW PLAYING will be in menu mode, and the parameters of each of the four voices can be scrolled. Pushing the SELECT button allows parameter changing via the SELECT knob while the button is down:

"Playing around with the new looper pedal synced to midi. Gear used here: Korg Kaoss Pad, Shruthi-1, Digitech RV7 reverb, Korg EM1, Pigtronix Infinity, home made two button pedal, Zoom G7.1ut and Sukar electric oud with my own custom pickup.
The looper pedal is synced by midi to the EM1 and has a cool feature in that it can reverse each of the two loops independently. I plan to make more vids with this pedal as it's very powerful."

"Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) for MU format modular synthesizer.

This module is one of just a few dozen out there, made in small batches by boutique MU Modular manufacturer SSL. Based on the Ian Fritz design, this module provide two 10-step waveforms to be defined which may be selected from via voltage controlled mix knob or discreet output.

In low frequency mode it can even be used to generate rhythmic pulses.

'Innovator and designer extraordinaire Ian Fritz has teamed up with Synthetic Sound Labs to bring you one of the most useful and flexible VCOs on the market - the SSL 1130 Double Deka VCO.

The Double Deka is a stable, wide range 1V/Octave VCO with incredible sonic versatility. Imagine "drawing" a 10 stage waveform using lighted front panel sliders. Now imagine two of these separate waveforms, each with a precisely stepped 6 octave range control that can also be externally voltage controlled. In addition, using a built in knob or external control voltage, you can cross-fade between the two waveforms. Add to this, two unique new types of sync, a funky digital ring modulator (DRM) type input, plus separate linear and exponential FM inputs, and you begin to see (and hear) the possibilities.

This unique VCO consists of an ultrasonic oscillator core followed by a parallel pair of waveform generators. Each waveform generator consists of a voltage controlled multi-octave divider, followed by circuitry to generate a 10-step waveform using a set of 10 slider potentiometers. Want to create the perfect filter sweep, manually trigger a gate or step through a sequencer? No more need to turn knobs or to patch up a lot of modules, the Kommander makes it simple: just plug it into a CV input on your (modular) synthesizer, move your hand over the device and you are able to control it with your hands, feet or nose, yes: just like a theremin: Kommand and Konquer!

The Kommander is a handheld dual infrared X-Y motion controller that makes controlling your electronic instruments intuitive and fun. The device measures the distance to your hand or any other surface and sends out corresponding CV signals between 0 and 8V. The closer you have your hand to the Kommander, the higher the output voltage. This will allow you to create complex synth sounds, trigger a drum machine, control your Koma effect pedals or any other instrument that is capable of receiving CV signals.

Koma know that some equipment can only accept CV signals up to 3V or 5V, that's why they fitted the Kommander with attenuators, which are accessible in the back of the unit. The attenuators connected to the CV outputs allow you to attenuate the maximum voltage output, so you can e.g. set the range from 0V to 5V instead of 0V to 8V.

Because of the innovative circuit design there is no interference from sunlight or stage light, so the musician can use it wherever she or he wants. Just plug the Kommander into your Eurorack Modular System, Buchla, Moog, Roland or any other synthesizer and create.

the ekdahl moisturizer

Basically, the ekdahl moisturizer is a spring reverb where the springs are exposed so they can be played/hit/fiddled with. as well as being capable of creating sound in itself, you can of course also play sound through the springs like a regular spring reverb - this makes for happy-fun-time finger-modulation of the reverb on whatever audio that's going through it. on top of this there's an analog multimode filter that can be used to attenuate or exaggerate certain frequencies in the sound, this is real handy while playing the springs as you can - for instance - cut all the highs and just make thunderous doomy sounds or do the opposite; cut all the lows and make that ear piercing high frequency special love. also, it incorporates an lfo that's internally routable to the filter and that also has some external routing-stuff. the ekdahl moisturizer has tons of cv / expression pedal options on the back for even more hillarious moments. the moisturizer is a mono unit.

A wide variety of features are packed into this Weevil - have a check of the block diagram to the left to see how the signal flows. The box is both a synth-sound generator and an audio processor - oh, with a load of chaos possibilities chucked in too.

Audio Input through a CMOS Overdrive/Distortion - a powerful input (1/4" mono jack) suitable for guitar or line levels. There are two levels of drive offering clean or distorted sounds. The distortion crunches really nicely!
Variable Response Wasp-style Filter - the filtering on the AudioWeevil is now full of character! Based on the famous old-school Wasp synth and offering variable Resonance / Q, Cutoff + LFO Modulation and Low/Band/Highpass outputs. There's a mixer going into it for balancing the Thru (Audio Input) and Ring (Weevil Sonics). There's also an output level control before 1/4" mono output jack.
Twin Oscillator Weevil Heart - this is the screechy ringmod centre of synthesis with many features. There are two lofi squarewave oscillators (one with LFO modulation) with Hi / Lo rate ranges which feed into a quasi-ringmod. The 2nd osc can be switched over to accept the squared audio input for wierd-assed ringmod processing. Added onto this are controls for: Power Starvation (with Stable or Instable modes), Ringmod Feedback (with three way routing switch) and an output Comparator to give stable levels even when starved.
Modulation LFO - Osc1 and the Filter can be modulated by the wide-range tri/saw LFO. The two rate ranges offer modulation from superslow to audiorate and the waveform is switchable from Saw to Triangle to Ramp. There are independent modulation depth controls for the Osc and Filter
Screen printed Frontpanel with Contact Points - the professional frontpanel labels all functions clearly (13 dials, 10 switches) and presents a total of 16 body contact points allowing touchy chaos control of the machine - lick your fingers!"

The Buchla 230e is key in achieving this. I mult the input to pre 1 into the other 2 followers to get different gates and envelopes.
The Buchla 230e is completely brilliant, the preamps sound lovely and the gate/envelope extraction is a wonder.

Kanjira is a Southern Indian frame drum played in Carnatic music to accompany the Mridangam. Its an amazing little drum and is quite versatile. If you want to hear what it is capable of then you should check out these dudes Ganesh Kumar, G Harishankar (Legend), Pete Locket etc. Do a search, this drum will blow your mind. Also check out Trichy Sankarin, a Mridangam player (my absolute favourite) but he also plays a pretty mean Kanjira."

リズムはLive9のImpluse、他のパートはDX7です。せっかくなので？メイ­ンメロディの出だしは大好きなLovi'n Youのフレーズにしたりなんかして。
動画は街にある顔っぽい風景。できればクルマ以外で、ということで、結構うろちょろし­て集めましたが、案外ないので困りました。曲の長さ分必要なので、無理やり顔だという­ことにしてるのもかなりありますがご容赦を。
Canon iVisのシネマモード（ポップフィルター）で撮影してみましたが、彩度の高い箇所だ­けクッキリ撮影できたりしてなかなか楽しいです。
