Minitaur soul on Sub Phatty?

"Showing some Minitaur inspired sounds on the Sub Phatty while testing some new camera angles. See full description to understand what's going on.

On the first few minutes I'm just showing some Minitaur inspired sounds. After that, I'm tweaking the Sub Phatty with the limitations of the Minitaur. The presets also share these limitations:
- 2 OSC, saw or square, with VCO reset, 1 octave limit between OSC
- 1 VCF, not using MULTIDRIVE
- 2 ADSR, with shared time for DR
- 1 LFO with triangle wave (not used)

My impression is that the Sub Phatty is capable of delivering some very nice Minitaur sounds when VCO reset is on. The thing just sounds heavy.

Some observations:
- Sometimes I'm tweaking out of the Minitaur possibilities, but I'm skipping these results (you'll see pretty clearly).
- From what I've read, the oscillators on the Sub can sound close to the Minitaur ones, and from my experience, using the volume of up to 9 give better results.
- I'm eventually using OSC2 just to give some harmonics to OSC1 (low volume), but you can still hear some of that detune magic happening.
- Things start to get out of Minitaur's comfort zone when too much resonance is added (not that it isn't capable of doing that....).
- Unfortunately I dont have a Minitaur so I can compare both. I have a Little Phatty though, so if you want to hear something specific, please share on the comments.

"The Continuum is something that I've been following with great interest. It's an extremely sensitive and accurate digital instrument, designed to be an extension of your fingers really. It's not an on-off synth. The Continuum almost feels like an acoustic instrument, in that it is just as (or in a way more) sensitive as, say.. a chello. All the sounds are designed to respond to your fingertips, continous pressure, pitch and Y-position changes.

The sound engine(s) itself is extremely impressive with a powerful Physical Modelling part, and also a beautiful FM implementation. I wish for them to be taken more seriously, and to get into the spotlight so that they could enter mass production at some stage. As of now, it is built and assembled specifically for each order, and thus has a pretty high price tag.

You can hear that for a newbie like me it'll take a great deal of practice to get the tune right, and if you don't have proper monitoring it'll be extremely difficult to stay in tune. But when Ed was playing you can hear that with years of practice you'll become the instrument.
This is that kind of instrument. An instrument to get attatched to."

Cassette 606 - Free Roland TR-606 Sample Pack By BPB (24-bit WAV)

"Cassette 606 is a free Roland TB-606 analogue drum machine sample pack featuring raw and tape processed one shot samples in 24-bit WAV format.

Each drum hit of a modded Roland TB-606 drum machine (Exfade mod) was recorded at different pitches, which is something that wouldn't be possible with a factory TR-606. These raw samples were then recorded to a Cr02 cassette tape at two different gain settings, resulting in a set of nicely overdriven drum hits with a lovely lo-fi character.

The final product features three drum kits for a total of 128 samples in 24-bit WAV format. The pack also includes mappings for the Poise drum sampler.

"In this video the Jomox ModBase 09 and ModBrane 11 modules are being triggered by the Cwejman RG-6 and Cwejman CTG-VC. Random slewed CV's from the D-LFO are used as envelopes for the ModBrane 11 which is fed through two channels of the 4ms VCA Matrix while modulated at different random rates. Audio rate random CV from another D-LFO is fed through the Linear FM of the ModBrane 11. A randomly 'pinged' Mutable Instruments Braids pluck (triggered from the Cwejman RG-6 gate) is used to FM the ModBase 09 Linear FM input. Randomized bi-polar saws and random probability spreads are being used to modulate the 4 CV busses of the Mod Brane 11. The ModBase 09 pitch and tuning comes from MakeNoise pressure points channel (clocked to the RG-6) where a channel of pressure is used to throw the RG-6 clock out of a steady pulse via external signal in and clock rate CV modulation.

Cheers to him for calling out it is not semi-modular. People are beginning to blur the line between what is modular and what is not. Modular is literally independent modules that you can physically move around. Semi-modular are independent modules housed under one panel that can be re-routed via patch cables. A synth with CV patch points is just that, a CV patchable synth, not modular. There is some confusion in regards to modulation and modulation matrixes in various hardware synths, but modular does not equal modulation matrix. Modular equals modules that can be moved around and reconfigured amongst other modules in a modular system.

"Popular demand does work occasionally - we’ve resurrected and renamed the original 259e Complex Waveform Generator. The new 259e is practically identical to the original, and is replete with all of the original digital waveshaping, aliasing noise, and foldover frequencies. However, we’ve added new self-modifying, screeching, snarling responses that reflect weird internal origins. Hence the name “twisted”.

Otherwise similar to the 261e Complex Waveform Generator, with voltage-controlled modulation of pitch, amplitude, and timbre, both hard and soft synchronization, and pitch tracking.

In conjunction with the model 225e MIDI Manager, the 259e's pitches respond to internally routed MIDI messages. Up to four 259's can peacefully co-exist in a single system, each with its private MIDI channel.

As in all 200e series modules, the settings of the 259e's pots and switches can be memorized as a part of a preset configuration. Provided you have a 225e or a 206e in your system."

"Twirl is a simple MIDI controller designed to work with the Neuron VS virtual instrument for desktop sequencers.

Neuron VS was released in around 2005 and shipped with a hardware controller. The Neuron VS has sadly been discontinued, however the owners of the software have recently the software component available for free! So, anyone with a Mac and a compatible VST host is able to run the Neuron VS and write music with it free of charge.

One of the exciting features of the Neuron VS is its Resynators, similar to oscillators that you generally find in every synthesiser. There are 2 Resynators in the Neuron VS. Each Resynator has a joystick that lets you adjust the 'scape' and the 'sphere' of the sound. 'Scape' refers to the generation properties of a sound (such as the excitation source in a real instrument), 'sphere' would contain all parameters referring to the properties of the resonating 'instrument' body.

In order to manipulate the Resynators, the hardware controller that shipped with Neuron VS was required. These controllers are very rare now, so this iPad app has been created as an alternative form of control. The app has been set up to transmit MIDI CC data, as specified in the Neuron VS manual, with the graphics of the app reflecting the graphics in the Neuron VS."
