"Session 1: Next Wednesday, September 6th, 6-7pm, Free
We're super psyched to be restarting our basic synth classes this fall! This series is called Getting Into Modular, and is a set of recurring casual presentations that answers the questions we hear in the shop often "How do I get into modular synthesis?" or "Where do I even start!?!?". Each session is an hour in length with ample time for questions, meant to de-mystify the modular synthesizer module by module using the eurorack systems we have set up in our shop.
This is a great way to learn the basics of patching a modular synth, and to see if you're into the workflow and flexibility that an open-architecture synthesizer provides.
This first session is all about Sound Sources, and here’s an outline of the topics we’ll be discussing:
Generating Sound
Oscillators - Shape designer
Noise - Every frequency
Filters - Feedback loops
Control Voltage
3742 N Mississippi Ave, 97227
09/06/17 from 6-7pm

"This video shows all 8 algorithms of the Erica Synths Pico Voice eurorack module.
The Pico Voice, from Erica Synths, is a highly versatile Eurorack modular sound source that is able to emulate a handful of extremely useful synthesis models. It contains 8 synthesis algorithms: Karplus Strong, Chord generator, Wavetable synthesis, TB303 emulation, Pulse width mod, Supersaws, Wavefolded osc and Harmonic saturation. There are two parameter controls per algorithm, with a CV input to control one of those two parameters. Despite the small size, the Pico Voice sounds giant!
"Gitary w sklepach muzycznych męczono "Schodami do nieba".
"The original VOX Continental, a transistor organ that appeared in the 1960s, is a timeless classic beloved by top players as a practical keyboard with a home on any live stage. Now, a completely new keyboard that carries this concept into the present day has been again released by the VOX brand.
The VOX Continental uses a simple and intuitive interface that allows quick accessibility of every function. The high-quality sound engine section is centered on organ, electric piano, and acoustic piano, and provides a wealth of stage-ready sounds. In addition, the Continental features a powerful effects section to enhance these sounds, and even analog valve drive powered by Nutube, the cutting-edge vacuum tube. It's an instrument that perfectly fits your live performance requirements for a variety of styles including rock, pop, jazz, and more.
The air of tradition that emanates from VOX organs, together with the innovation of decades of research, down to the illuminated VOX logo shows the new VOX Continental is a fusion of both, redefining the existence of the modern stage keyboard."

"SUPERBOOTH18 will return to FEZ Berlin in 2018: 03. - 05. May 2018
SUPERBOOTH18 is the first and the largest European trade fair for electronic musical in- struments, giving you the opportunity to experience the latest innovations and rare instru- ments. At SUPERBOOTH18 the visitors get the chance to meet a large number of exhibi- tors from all over the world in an incomparable atmosphere. In addition to the exhibition stands, there will be around 30 daily concerts and live performances, workshops and talks taking place again.
Due to the strong demand for this years exhibition space it was not possible to fit all inte- rested exhibitors to the floor plan. For next years edition there will be an extra area for tho- se manufacturers who could not take part in 2017 and for new candidates. With this extra room it is possible to expand the range of product categories shown at SUPERBOOTH18 for an even more complete experience. Because of the great success in 2017 the organi- zers have decided to return to FEZ Berlin in 2018 and develop the event in the same ve- nue. The unique design of the FEZ building, the outside-area, the exhibitor areas, studios, workshop rooms and food court provide an excellent basis for SUPERBOOTH18 and they are spread barrier-free over three floors.
The very well received show program of this years SUPERBOOTH17 has been recorded and edited in the past weeks. Selected concerts and performances will be released online within the next months. This is a nice opportunity for everyone who hasn’t been able to see the show program of SUPERBOOTH17 to get an impression of the atmosphere of this incomparable event."
"The first real performance - officially the AKAI-Gespraechskonzert - on SUPERBOOTH17 was the introduction by >Mario Hammer and the lonely robot< for his latest record release called >je L'ai calisseé la< .. He played another gig the same afternoon on the seaside stage, but unfortunately we did not record that one. So please buy the record in a competent store to calm down or for your next aftershow event?"
"One of the uncounted real synth concerts and a really smart performance on SUPERBOOTH17 was the product presentation alias Gespraechskonzert for KORG in the Cinema. Jörg Sunderkötter - known as Sound&Recording's earlier chief editor, here on the keyboards - and his studio partner Joker Nies - also an expert for circuit bending - had some problems to find on stage but then .. turn it loud and see yourselves."

"While working on the SE-02 review, we got hold of the Expressive E Touche - a very expressive controller, We mapped some MIDI controllers and CV, patched up the SE-02 and this is what happened.
"There is no denying this one of the most desirable drum machines on the second hand market. The kick, snare, hi-hats etc are all iconic sounds that have shaped dance music culture.
It is a classic drum machine that punches far heavier than the reproductions that are currently on the market. Individual outputs for each sound go a long way in making it the preferred choice of drum machine.
This particular unit has some history, it has been graced with the signatures of two internationally acclaimed DJ's / performers who have used this during Adelaide performances, namely Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills.
This instrument can be inspected during business hours in the Adelaide CBD if you want to test for yourself prior to purchase. This TR-909 has been thoroughly tested prior to auction and proved to be functioning 100% as expected. Ensure you inspect the photo's prior to purchase. All markings and a minor dent on the front of the unit have been represented as clear as possible."
"This Mini Moog Model D was manufactured in 1975 with serial number 10936 and is in superb condition. It has been kept in an Anvil flight case for over 4 decades. It never saw heavy road useage and was primarily a studio instrument. I am the sole original owner and being a trained electronics technician, I personally restored it to factory conditions by performing the following service;
Oscillator calibration and tuning
Contour generator tuning
Power supply voltage adjustments to within spec
VCA balancing
A-440 reference oscillator adjustments
Filter regeneration calibration
Octave range trimiing
Noise level adjustment
Filter range calibration
Filter scale calibration
Pitch wheel adjustment
Modulation wheel adjustment
Cleaned all circuit board contacts
Cleaned and adjusted all trim pots
Cleaned pitch and trigger keyboard contacts and bus bars
The instrument plays and sounds beautifully with no hum or output noise or defects to any functions. All pots are free of noise and everything is operational as if it were brand new. The walnut cabinet has also been beautifully restored as well. There are no scratches, bumps, dents, or any cosmetic issues whatsoever. All parts are original and nothing has been replaced. Price includes Anvil flight case."
Charming vintage keyboard with the stock Yamaha wood ends and good looks across the whole user section.
Yamaha's SK-series are combo-keyboards with synthesizer, organ, brass and string sections. This SK30 was rescued from the wreckers who were going to carve her up and sell her for parts. I didn't want to see that happen, so she's listed here in the hope she will find a new home and another to love her."
"Here's the mentioned Drones N Stuff video for those that missed it - [posted here]. This is a jam (patch demo whatever you want to call it) video playing with a single patch and the Clouds+Morph mode which provides the E350 style morphing wavetables with the E340 cloud generator style multi-oscillator clouds. The E352 is ace! And this new mode really solidifies it. Full overview coming soon (I'll stop breaking off to make these smaller single patch videos) so watch out for more and grab an E352 you won't regret it."

"Pairing the Kilpatrick Audio Phenol synth with the OTO Machines BAM reverb effect. The Phenol is a fixed architecture modular hybrid synthesizer. The BAM is a hardware effects unit based on classic 70s/80s reverbs like the lexicons. In this video I make a few different patches and demo them in musical contexts. The Phenol is controlled by the Arturia Keystep MIDI controller keyboard."
"This video is all about the Landscape AllFlesh. These little things are going to change the way I interact with my synths. Stay tuned for some weird new sounds coming soon!
1:20 the learning begins
From the Landscape website: 'You will be in a sort of collaboration with the instrument as sometimes you will be reacting to what it is doing and other times you will be attempting to control and shape what it is doing but most of the times you will be doing both simultaneously.'
"... I think it's important to record your first interactions with any new instrument as these moments of inexperience and the uninformed patches which come of that are only available once."
"The Novation Circuit is a fun groovebox, but it can also serve as a great MIDI controller for soft synths because its 8 macro knobs can be used to send CC messages across multiple views - in total controlling 51 different soft synth parameters"

"KROSS 2, the long-awaited successor of the KROSS, is a compact, portable workstation with a huge range of sounds. While maintaining its identity as ultra-lightweight, compact, and capable of running on batteries, this new model dramatically enhances KROSS’s sounds and functionality. In addition to a total of more than a thousand preset sounds, expansion PCM memory has been newly added. Also new is a pad sampler that allows full-fledged sampling, and USB audio/MIDI interface functionality. The color scheme is even more stylish, and the user interface allows intuitive operation even by beginners.
Effortlessly select the sound that you want to play, shape it to match your imagination, sample a sound, create phrases and rhythms, record your vocal or guitar, bring KROSS 2 on stage, and perform. Whatever you artistic vision, you can make it happen. KROSS 2 is a versatile synthesizer platform made with creative freedom in mind.
