"This is probably the only demo about this synth.
Elgam was an Italian brand active during the Seventies. They mostly made electric organs. The ES 2000 is an exception, probably made just before the company closed (1982).
It is a very basic synth with one single oscillator capable of generating square/sawtooth waves. There are no controls for the oscillator because it is a preset synth with 15 different sounds (with funny names like Piano, Flute, Guitar, Oboe, Violin , etc...). The presets buttons modify the settings of the oscillator and maybe some EQ settings.
The player has access to the filter (non resonant): cutoff and envelope amount. There is one envelope (ADSR) for the filter and the volume. There is the portamento slider. There is the vibrato (LFO) with amplitude and rate sliders and one button to add some delay to the inset of the vibrato. That's all.
It isn't a synth with many features but it has a nice vintage sound.
In this video I played it dry or with some effects from my Novation X-Station (reverb, delay, chorus).
With one oscillator+chorus it is possible to obtain kind of a detuned fat sound."
"Demonstration of the Paia FATMAN analog synth.
All sounds from the FATMAN.
The sounds are dry or with effects (Novation X-Station).
A loop pedal was used too.
Enjoy"
Part 1:
🕹 After seeing a beautiful piece of Akai kit called the “MPK mini red”, I realized I could recreate its look without taking up more space on my desk. And so v2 of the Commodore Music Maker (“CMM”) was born. I call it the “C=MM² red”, but you can just call it bloody sexy. Who needs E=MC² when you have C=MM². (Rhetorical question.)
Part 2:
Let’s finish my 'C=MM² red', record a new chiptune from it & make SID scream!
📀 OWN BOTH TRACKS NOW:
- All current and new Patreons (even at $1!) get access to their own shiny download link to own the full track PLUS a bonus polished ‘radio edit’ with sparkly percussion & echo added. So that’s 2 tracks for as little as 50¢ each.

"A rather familiar bass-line. I'm just testing a newly-repaired Korg Polysix. This is playing in unison mode, although with only five ganged voices. No effects other than a small amount of reverb."
"Sadly, something has to give. Too much kit in my life!
This is a 1982 Korg Polysix in excellent condition. It's been fully restored within the past two years, and is in really good cosmetic condition. If you're looking here, you know the specifications already, so no need for copypasta here.
Work done:
Old NiCad battery replaced with a brand-new NiMH battery. Not a lithium cell. The CPU card was blissfully unharmed by the usual battery leak problems that these get - check the photos.
The power supply transformer has been replaced with a super quiet, efficient toroidal unit, capable of running at 220V as well as 110V.
One VCF chip - an SSM2044 - was replaced with a brand-new old stock item.
Synth was completely recalibrated and tuned and is working perfectly.
A Tauntek MIDI input board was fitted. This really enhances the machine by allowing MIDI note in, as well as syncing the arpeggiator clock over MIDI.
Yes, I changed out the LEDs for blue ones, while replacing some scratchy, worn pots. Series resistors were recalculated to dial back the intensity. It's not as piercing as in the photos. Will take some more pics soon. I think they really match the panel decals well, by YMMV. I'm happy to change them back to generic red (or anything, really) for the lucky buyer."
"One used (1) Jomox T-Resonator with Power Supply..... the 'T' stands for Time.
The T-Resonator transforms timely events into an analog feedbacked filter network.
You can select 8 different delay algorithms, each with different delays and different feedbacks and modulate them even with an LFO. Delays reach from less than a millisecond to 1 second, range and structure is depending on the algorithm. The sine LFO gets retriggered by the audio signal and can be shaped with the audio envelope or just run alone. In center position the amount is 0, to the left it's envelope-shaped LFO, to the right it's only LFO.
The filters are made from discreet parts and form a 24 dB pole lowpass filter transistor cascade. They can -be self feedbacked and be coupled or feedbacked with each other, so that extreme sounds and chaotic states create - all what you need today for creative analog sound design.
Incredible bass gains or screaming scratch sounds are no problem. IN FACT THESE CAN BLOW YOUR SPEAKERS IF YOU DON'T WATCH WHAT YOU'RE DOING,
The input has an adjustable gain and a Hi-Z input to plug in a guitar directly. Any line level signal can be processed, be it either mono or stereo.
Specifications
-Stereo OR Mono In
-Stereo Out
-Envelope follower with LFO
-2 filters
-2 delay lines /chorus /reverb
-8 Algorithms
-Positive feedback loops
-Cross feedback
-FM feedback"
"Demoing the Grazer with a Critter & Guitari Organelle and a stratocaster plus using it with a expression pedal to control the Pitch. The Grazer is a granular repeater and glitch machine, which builds sounds by continuously taking tiny samples from the input audio. The sounds range from off-kilter echoes, all the way up to harsh machine glitches.

"Talking Heads classic 'This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)' shows off synthesizers heavily, but it was recorded and performed completely using a single keyboard: the Prophet 5. William Kurk is here to run through the grooves in our studio (using the Prophet 6) to help you feel right at home when you experiment with the Synth Sounds of...Talking Heads.
Comes in right at the beginning and some talk at 9:15. Not clear what it might be, or when it might happen, but I can state this: I finally ordered a Virus TI2 desktop back in January and am still waiting to hear back. There is no word if they have been discontinued, if more are being produced, or if orders are on hold for an updated model. I'm hoping for an updated model myself. We'll see if anything is mentioned at the upcoming Musikmesse or Superbooth.

"In our video interview with rising star Anna Straker, we chat about how she discovered her passion for music production, her love of London, and how she integrates the Arturia DrumBrute into her infectious fusion of electro, 90s pop and trip hop."
"Putting the world's most famous analog synth filters in your DAW might sound a little daunting, but don't worry: Lyli's here to guide you. Together, we'll explore M12-Filter, Mini-Filter, and SEM-Filter, and discover their creative possibilities."
"Renowned for their award-winning virtual instruments modelled on classic synths and keyboards of yesteryear, French audio software and hardware company Arturia have used their modelling expertise to isolate iconic synth filters as standalone software plugins. This concise collection of 3 recreated analog filters not only gives DAW users 3 great sounding effects, but also lets them use these classic filters on any audio source in their software studio.
Arturia know that musicians, both experienced and aspiring, can easily become frustrated with the dizzying array of plugins available these days. With so much choice, it’s often difficult to choose effects that satisfy your creative needs. Arturia has created 3 Filters You’ll Actually Use to give musicians a small, but manageable set of plugins that sound fantastic, are based on legendary synth hardware, and include exciting modern features.
Using their exclusive True Analog Emulation technology, Arturia’s developers were able to analyze and accurately recreate the behaviour and response of each original analog filter, separating them from their host synth, making them available as individual preamps. Modelled on, and inspired by the functionality of famous synths from industry legends Bob Moog and Tom Oberheim, this collection brings the iconic sound of their filters to a new generation of music producers and performers, and updates their functionality with inspiring contemporary features.
Demonstrating the wide variety and style of effects possible using 3 Filters You'll Actually Use, Arturia have released a thorough tutorial video featuring Lyli, one of their in-house sound designers. Users will be able to hear the difference between each filter's core sound, as well as be guided through the more complex elements, like getting hands on with the hugely powerful sequencers.
3 Filters You’ll Actually Use contains:
Mini-Filter: Based on the filter found in Bob Moog’s 70s monosynth, users will be able to shape any sound in their DAW with the power of this famous 24dB per octave low-pass filter. This software version also features an LFO, envelope follower, and step sequencer.
SEM-Filter: Based on the filter found in a truly historic synth, arguably the first standalone, self-contained synthesizer ever made. Tom Oberheim’s famous state-variable filter has been reborn as a software plugin, and features a simple mod matrix with gate sequencer and mod sources.
M12-Filter: A software recreation of the multi-mode filter found in the legendary 80s analog polysynth: Matrix-12. This plugin not only perfectly emulates its response, but also offers twin analog filters, filter processing, modulation envelopes, and a comprehensive mod matrix.
All 3 of these plugins features a beautiful high quality GUI, and a whole host of presets from Arturia’s sound designers to get you inspired, let you kick-start your creativity, and give you a solid base to create your own unique filter sounds and patterns.
Until April 5th 2018, 3 Filters You'll Actually Use and its sibling effect bundle 3 Preamps You'll Actually Use will be available for an introductory offer price:
3 Filters You’ll Actually Use will be available for 99 €/US$ , and 199 €/US$ after the promotion.
3 Preamps You’ll Actually Use will be available for 199 €/US$ , and 299 €/US$ after the promotion.
Owners of Arturia V Collection, or any other software or hardware instruments are encouraged to log in to their MyArturia accounts on the Arturia website to take advantage of exclusive crossgrade deals."
"This is my first recorded live jam with the Korg Volca Sample. It's an incredible machine for the money, and can get you into creative places very quickly. It is also an excellent drum machine if you want it - way better than the Volca Beats alternative.
Samples come from: PO-12, TR-808, JU-06, Rytm.
I'm still feeding samples to it, trying to find ideal sounds, but can take awhile.
"In this demo, Patrick OBrien (obrienmedia) walks us through the Bin Seq gate sequencer.

Bin Seq is an eight-step switchable gate sequencer. Each switch has three positions: off, tied gate, or short gate. Reset in allows you to make the sequence as short as you want. Ideal for creating and manipulating rhythmic sequences in live sets or for fun rhythmic CV sequences.
"Launched by Roland in the late 70s as their flagship monosynth at the time, the culmination of the legendary SH range. Its a powerful and flexible beast and rare to find too, particularly in this condition.
About this Roland SH7
Overall, the synth is in superb working condition.
The front panel is very clean, with hardly a mark to be seen, just small blemishes. The side panels are really tidy with only minor marks and a little corner wear. The back panel is very good with only minor marks. The tolex casing is also in very tidy condition too.
All knobs, sliders and switches are present, original and function correctly.
The unit has had a recent service and been fully tested and is working as it should be."

"For this track, different types of gear will team up to battle the Attark of the Alienoids. The Akai Tom Cat is going thru the TP-2 Tube Preamp for some toasty tube crunch & optical compression. The Disco Tom track of the Tom Cat is sequencing the Circuit Bent Kawai K1m. All of this recorded into Logic with some extra compression, EQ & reverb."
