"What's up everybody? Welcome to Midiverse - TV! We've been hard at work on a new eurorack module collaboration project with our friend Cory Kiser, we're excited to announce the module is now available. Check it out!"
"Sidebander is a Eurorack module that employs additive synthesis to create FM synthesis sounds.
FM synthesis, known for its complexity, is made more accessible and performance-friendly with Sidebander.
The inspiration for Sidebander originated from the "tone clusters" famously utilized by Penderecki, which its developer discovered through the collaborative works of Radiohead's guitarist, Johnny Greenwood, with Penderecki. The developer of Sidebander eventually recognized a fascinating link between these tone clusters and FM synthesis.
Intriguingly, FM synthesis naturally produces sidebands that deviate from a carrier wave's fundamental frequency, mirroring the concept of equally spaced tone clusters in an unexpected way. Furthermore, when these sidebands are exceptionally close to the fundamental frequency, they create effects akin to unison or chorusing.
Sidebander offers a novel approach to exploring sonic landscapes, enabling users to extract pure waveforms, unison effects, FM-like sounds, and tone clusters, all within a single, versatile module.
Original concept and firmware developed by: Cory Kiser"
"A quick minute with the Korg Arp 2600 M. VCO 2 and 3 playing square waves. VCO 1 as a square wave LFO, doing both pulse width modulation on VCO 2 and being the clock for the sample and hold.
"This module is pretty special. To give an idea of what is going on I tried to make it simple. In all of these patches the top mixer is the sound and the bottom mixer is the gates. The bottom mixer is firing gates that are triggering all four envelopes separately as an envelope or in burst mode on Quadrax. The top mixer outs are going into vcas. That is where the sound is coming from. There are four sounds in total coming from the mixer. When I say mixers I am talking about the outputs on the Zorlon Cannon. Quadrax is then modulating the vcas. Something to note. Quadrax when in burst mode (yellow lights) till the cycle ends it will block any of the gates incoming from the Zorlon Cannon till it ends its cycle. Think of it like a ping pong ball bouncing. It will not accept gates from the Zorlon Cannon till the final 'bounce'. This is why at first it may look like some of the gates are not matching up with the envelopes.
Probably the most fun I have had in modular in awhile. Up there with Mito and Dial up from Moffenzeef Modular as far as the fun factor."
"This video will give a detailed review of the “envelope generator ecosystem” in the Behringer System 55 modular synthesizer. In particular, we’ll be looking at some interesting use cases creating complex envelope shapes using multiple 911 envelope generators and the 911A dual trigger delay module. These complex patches allow you to move beyond a basic Minimoog patch.

"My first attempt was more literal, based on the sounds of stuff in the painting and the actual notes depicted in the painting, but it didn't work out.
This one is more of a period jam with acoustic instrument samples: hand perc, upright bass, harpsichord, flute, and strings. I added some arps and FX for more pizzazz. :-)"
"1 synth , 4 hands, 5 chords and (approximately) 31 beats per phrase.
Novation Peak sequenced with Arturia Keystep and some live additional notes and pitch-mod controls
All the patches contains sequences and have routed functions to the mod wheel so use it when playing the sounds!
You need the OPSIX Sound Librarian to upload the patches. Patches are provided as individual program files and also as a library of 32 patches.
"Continuing with my Jamuary series, here's another Monday morning jam. I decided to use the KORG Volca Beats, KORG Volca Bass, Dave Smith (DSI) MoPho, and Roland Juno-Gi together. The combination seems to work."
"Since these days I have on hand 2 classic - shall I write cult ? - drum machines that I retrofitted with MIDI interface it was very tempting to compare them in real time, playing the same thing. So I did !
The Korg MiniPops features the Tubbutec Unipulse interface (https://tubbutec.de/unipulse/) and the Roland CR-78 was upgraded with Tauntek MCU replacement (http://tauntek.com/CR78.htm). Bless these guys for everything they give to the synth community. In this video I don't go deep into the MIDI functionality, i simply wanted to compare the raw sound of these 2 units. It would not be fair to compare them features wise. 10 years or more separate them and in many aspects the technology gap seems abysmal. BUT they are more alike one can think at first. What makes them very close is the nature, number and choice of drum sounds. The MP7 has 15 of them and the CR78 14. They have those sounds in common: Bass, Snare, Rimshot, High-Hat, Cymbal, Cowbell, Conga, Large Bongo, Small Bongo, Claves, Guiro, Tambourin. The MP7 adds a second Snare sound (longer decay) whereas the CR78 has a second Tambourine sound (longer decay). The "maracas" on th CR78 can be interpreted as Cymbal 2 on the MP7. Actually soundwise the big difference is the "Quijada" sound that's on the MP7 and is nowhere else to be found. Quite a jaw dropping sound it is ! So anyway i MIDI mapped the MP7s sounds to their respective CR78 ones as best possible so I now have 2 analog expanders rack :-)"
"Prizma is a versatile and powerful sequencer for Eurorack modular systems. A composition tool focusing on the creation of complex melodic and rhythmic progressions, utilizing the principles of controlled unpredictability, with the ability to determine the timing and location of randomness and the degree to which it influences your sequences. The module features 2 tracks of CV and GATE outputs which are driven by a 16-step sequencer, an auxiliary sequencer with its own clock divider, and further sub-circuitry that shapes the eventual output results."
8th January 2024: Nembrini Audio launches the NA501 Chorus Echo Plugin. The new, cutting edge plugin enabling musicians and producers to rediscover the legendary analog warmth, authentic spring reverb, classic tape delay and lush BBD chorus of the iconic Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo*. Listen to it here or watch the launch video https://youtu.be/9nAYmr3EfR8.
Released in 1982, the renowned Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo was the last of Roland’s line of electro-mechanical effects processors. The ‘box’ contained a special tape recorder to create delay effects or ‘echoes’ alongside a spring reverb and chorus effect. The unique design of unit allowed the longer tape to move freely making the echo sounds longer and cleaner. The coveted RE-501, highly sought after for its colourful character and richness of sound was used by Bob Marley to create deep, throbbing echoes and Radiohead to produce pitch-shifting effects.
The NA 501 Chorus Echo is an innovative digital re-interpretation of the sought after Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo. It faithfully captures the complex essence of the mechanical and electronic component interactions of one of the most notable tape delays ever designed. By extending the original design with modern functionality, enhanced control and flexibility and allowing it to fit seamlessly into today’s digital work stations, the NA 501 Chorus Echo plugin goes beyond mere emulation.
The authentic sound of the meticulously modelled plugin is ideal for adding rich analog textures to any genre of music and is a versatile tool for musicians and producers seeking a classic sound with contemporary workability. The extended creative controls of NA 501 Chorus Echo along with its intuitive user interface make it easy for users to recreate the impression that the echoes are receding rather than simply getting quieter.
The new plugin is currently on offer at until 31st January 2024. The desktop version introductory price is $29.99 rising to $99 and the iOS version $7.99 increasing to $14.99 after the promotion ends. NA 501 Chorus Echo is PC, Mac and iOS (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX and AUv3) compatible and requires a FREE iLOK account.

My name is Meska of the statik collective . I've been making mostly "dark and expérimental" music for more than ten years now, i'v learn so much online, now it's time for me to share my knoledge, my exploration and this channel is a place to talk about the tools, sound design and techniques to make music with.
"Phonosomes is my personal software for DNA sonification experiments.
It reads file from my genome (or any other standard genome FASTA file) up to 20000 nucleotides or 6666 codons and uses them to control the Waldorf Iridium. The Ammino Acids sequences control notes' pitch, velocity, scale, transposition, probability as well a synthesis parameters.
This is the evolution of my genomics soundart started in 2018/19 at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
I'm working at performances for 2024/25 and fundrising for scientific equipment I need to further evolve the process.

"Farfisa Soundmaker analog synthesizer with its original brochure (in German) available for sale. It's just serviced by a pro tech and in perfect working condition. The service report is part of the sale.
When you layer the strings, polyphonic and monophonic parts you create a unique sound. It's simply beautiful, like no other synth can produce. One of the underrated synths around.
Cosmetically it's in very nice condition, considering its age of 45 years old. There are some minor signs of use on the veneer, the buttons on the front panel are discolored, and one of the original rubber foot has been repaired. Other than that it's in top condition.
The synth is working on 220v and doesn't have a serial number on the case."
"My first submission for #jamuary2024
Polyend Play Plus is providing all drums and sequencing the Korg Volca and Dreadbox Erebus. Also playing a few melodic samples and minimal use of the Play’s internal synths, which you can hear mostly at the beginning and end of the video.
Meris Mercury7 is in the the send of my mixer for some dub swells. Volca Keys is running through an Electro Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe and a Boss DC-2w chorus"

"Did you ever hear of eurorack modules that aren't supposed to make any sound, but possess a hidden power to summon demons, tear up space and time and cause musical wormholes? Find out the terrifying truth behind the Behringer Abacus, which was cloned by MakeNoise and currently known as Maths. We have solid evidence that Tony Rolando travelled back in time, all the way to the 1960's to inspire Don Buchla, and to make sure his clone entered common history long before Behringer could release it in 2023. But this is now how we remember it, which also proves we're living in a scary simulation.
And this one is called YouTube. For Day 08 of #jamuary2024, I am using Maths as my only sound source. Yes. Sound. People who are new to modular may be shocked. And it's great for drones and haunting soundtracks. Forgive me for having a bit of 'backstory' fun to decorate a mediocre musical performance. Jamuary isn't supposed to be perfect, but having fun is very important. Have a great Monday!"
