USB Eurorack Power Kits from c1t1zen modular

via c1t1zen

"I've made these USBpowered Eurorack pcb kits. That convert the 5V output from USB and up-converts it to +/-12V. I usually use a USB battery charger...but you can use any USB power source. I've been able to push 250mA to the +/-12v for several hours. It's great to have a portable small system to tweak on the couch or on the go. Also I have one on my bench for testing builds.

It's based on the work of Tom Whitwell of Music Thing Modular."

Kit Includes:
USBpower PCB
USB Cable
Capacitor
USB Jack
5 Shrouded Headers

Side note: c1t1zen also made the lunchbox modular featured in this video from Thomas Whitwell of Music Thing.

Dr. Blankenstein's "Boom-A-Ring" The Electronic Didgeridoo of the Future !

"This one doesn't need too much explaining, the title really says it all. It's an electronic didgeridoo with the illumiringer effect built into it. There is only one in the world, some will say that's a good time... some might not. You can expect nothing less from a one of a kind prototype. Since I am one of the world's worst didgeridoo players, I thought it best to let her go. I am sure there is someone out there that is a great player and deserves to own this sucker more than myself. Before doing so, I wanted to make a proper video of it (I don;t think I'll be making anymore anytime soon. This one was built years ago). The video is longer than I would have liked it to be, but I had a lot of ground to cover. Feel free to skip to the middle when the real demo action starts."

Blue Lantern Assist Percussion Module Demo and Phobos VCF

Published on Dec 11, 2016 Flavio Mireles

"A demo of the Blue lantern Modules APU Percussion Module,
Phobos Lunar VCF, and new TPC SLim VCO."

Update:

Some info via Blue Lantern:

The assist Perc. Utility Module (APU) is currently available. The other two will be out in 2017.

The TPC Slim VCO, is just a slim version of my Buchla Tri Core TPC vco. Price still close to $300.00
The Phobos Lunar VCF is a ssm2040 discrete core LP BP HP Notch with CS80 inspired HPF on the input path. Price probably $199.00

On the Assist Percussive Utility:

Drum utility module, percussion

Current: +18mA, -18mA

width:12hp
Depth: 1.5"

Decay Envelope Generator, HI-FI v2164 VCA, and Booster circuit.

What does this do?
This module gives you all the tools needed to make kick drums or percussive sounds using your own vco modules that you have lying around. There is only 3 patch points required to connect this to your VCO module. You connect (2) patch cables to your vco cv inputs, and connect the vco wave output into the ASSIST jack audio in.

Think of this as a drum maker module for dummies. It makes it idiot proof for you to get 909-ish kick drums easily.

The PIEZO jack input allows you to connect drum pads. The ROLAND V_DRUM pad is recommended.

PRICE: $199.00

NoiseBox

Published on Dec 10, 2016 Junklight Software

"NoiseBox is a sound design Synthesiser for Max For Live in Ableton Live. Buy it here https://sellfy.com/p/QSa5/

It is based on the principle of filtered noise. Useful for a variety of sound design and musical uses. With the inbuilt random LFOs it can easily produce continuously moving sounds instead of using field recordings or samples.

It has three separate noise sources: crackle, pink noise and Gaussian noise, three filter types: low pass, transistor ladder and bandpass with a separate LFO for frequency and Q, a free envelope that can be applied to frequency and Q. The envelopes are designed to have particularly long attacks and releases to allow for subtle sounds to be created."
