These are my first "ten minutes" (okay, the video turned out a few minutes longer π) with the Modern Sounds Pluto semimodular synthesizer. π§Headphones recommended for the full sonic experience.
In this small setup Pluto is accompanied by three pedals, the Strymon El Capistan v1, the Chase Bliss/Goodhertz Lossy and the Eventide Space in ModEchoVerb algorithm, all in stereo. Pluto, this tiny little box, is such a fascinating and inspiring instrument. You can get a million and more of sounds out of it. I love how the filter of Lossy changes the overall mood of the sounds.

"A 25-minute Berlin School–inspired ambient journey built around a sequenced analog synthesizer and evolving modulation.
Driven by the Dreadbox Typhon, the sound slowly unfolds through filter movement, envelopes, and layered effects processing—creating a deep, immersive soundscape that rewards focused listening.
A key element in shaping the modulation is the Chase Bliss Lossy, especially its filter, while additional textures and time-stretched layers are introduced using the Chase Bliss Mood Mk II (Slip Mode & Stretch Mode).
Signal Path:
Dreadbox Typhon → Chase Bliss Lossy (modulated via Moog Expression Pedal) → Old Blood Noise Endeavors Black Fountain Stereo → Chase Bliss Mood Mk II → Eventide Space

"This is your official introduction to the Neutral Labs Luna - a new lunetta-style “groovebox” desktop & eurorack compatible synth. It’s patch programmable, letting you both create tones and rhythms from 5 oscillators (2 with step sequencers inside), logic and pattern generators, all at the same time. Three 'LPG's take the raw tones and let you gate and filter them. 13 effects in 2 blocks effect and shape sounds further.
Enormous thanks to Martin at Neutral Labs for commissioning me to make a vid of this. The world needs more shift registers. Note: I used my own red Tiptop Audio Stackcables in the video, but the desktop module comes with 12 braided patch cables."
Neutral Labs Luna – the first serious Lunetta synthesizer
"Join us for an exploration of what Lunetta Synthesizers are, what the new Luna from Neutral Labs is and why you should care.
The short answer is that it’s an interesting series of raw digital building blocks from a sonic sculptor (Stanley Lunetta) with lots of modern quality of life features that allow you to approach timbre as rhythm, rhythm as timbre then round that out with low pass gates and FX.

"Logic, Unbound. Meet Luna. The first serious Lunetta synthesizer.
Look beyond clean waveforms and predictable polyphony. Luna will take you back to a time when digital didn’t mean perfect. It meant raw. Inspired by the subterranean DIY culture of the 70s and 80s, Luna is a love letter to the Lunetta machines of old: Living, breathing organisms built from CMOS logic chips. But where those machines were fragile experiments, Luna is a weaponized instrument of sonic confusion.
The Nervous System Exposed. True to the Neutral Labs philosophy, we don’t believe in hiding the magic behind an opaque face plate. Luna features exposed CMOS inputs and outputs right on the front panel. You're not just patching cables, you are rewiring the brain of the synthesizer itself. Combine signals, bend logic, and physically intervene in the computation to create sounds that shouldn't exist.
Rhythm is Timbre. Timbre is Rhythm. In the world of Luna, there is no difference between a sequencer and an oscillator. The same digital pulse that drives a bass line can be accelerated into a screeching lead or folded into a metallic drone.
5 oscillators provide the raw material. A chaotic array of logic blocks (XOR, NOT, AND, shift registers, counters, multiplexer) will chew up those signals and spit out complex, evolving mathematical noise.
Taming the Digital Mess. Raw logic can be harsh. To turn this binary chaos into music, Luna feeds its digital soul through 3 organic low-pass gates. These analog circuits impart a natural decay and percussive punch to the madness, transforming mathematical errors into bongos, plucks, and thumping basslines.
Drench it in Atmosphere. Once you’ve constructed your signal, destroy it again. Luna comes equipped with a suite of effects — distortion, delay, reverb, chorus, bitcrusher, phaser and more — to smear your logic into a wash of ambient bliss or gritty industrial texture.
5 oscillators logic gates (2 XOR, 2 NOT, 2 AND) 5 logic blocks (5-step ring counter,4-bit binary counter, 2 shift registers, 4-channel multiplexer) 3 touchpads that generate logic signals 3 channels for audio manipulation (low-pass gates with adjustable decay and switchable trigger mode, gain, tilt EQ) 13 audio effects that can be freely assigned to 2 effect slots running in series (drive, delay, reverb, 6 filter types, bitcrusher, phaser, chorus, comb filter) CV control for effects and 2 oscillators MIDI control over 2 oscillators, all 3 low-pass gates, and 3 logic outputs (MIDI TRS A socket) 2 sequencers with up to 64 steps, syncable to clock or MIDI audio output is headphone compatible available as a desktop synth or 42 HP Eurorack module (desktop version comes with a 12-pack of black/gold braided patch cables) See more videos and photos on Instagram.
Note: For sustainability reasons, the desktop version does not come with a USB power supply, just a USB-A to USB-C cable. You will need a 5V supply, such as a phone charger, power bank or laptop.
Note: The desktop version has a Eurorack power header and can be placed into a Eurorack. The desktop case however has 5V USB power and no Eurorack rails, you cannot use it as a 42 HP rack without modifications."
"Starting a new series where, the focus isn't on one particular modules details on sound and how it works, but a focus on pure sound, melody and patch experimentation. A song, a track, something to play in the background while you work. A longer version of my instagram sketches.

Noise Engineering announces Case of Steel, a 64 HP Eurorack Skiff with Integrated Busboard Power and Mults
Los Angeles, CA — Noise Engineering, known for their versatile Eurorack modules, has released Case of Steel, a skiff designed to house and power 64 HP of Eurorack modules.
While Noise Engineering has spent the last decade creating innovative modules, this is their first time releasing a standalone case. And while the market for cases large and small has grown significantly, Noise Engineering’s design still stands out with some innovative design choices and unique construction.
As the name implies, the case is made entirely of steel, with mounting holes tapped directly into the steel frame. This ensures that modules stay put, and the weight of the case keeps it in place while in use, despite its compact size. A pair of passive mults installed on the bottom of the case aids in patching, and saves HP in a small system. And while some skiffs are particularly shallow, Case of Steel offers over 2” of depth for modules, housing all but the deepest Eurorack designs for unmatched flexibility.
Case of Steel also features an integrated power supply. A power switch on the back of the case turns on the system, and power is delivered via a real busboard installed under the row of mults – no flying bus cables here. Despite the case’s compact size, the power specs are no joke: two zones of +12V offering 850mA each, plus 750mA of -12V and 1A of +5V. In a 64 HP system, it’ll be difficult to reach those limits. Case of Steel has a built-in power switch, and ships with a power brick, too.
For the production of Case of Steel, Noise Engineering worked with a metal fabricator near their headquarters, showing off the awesome capabilities of the Los Angeles maker community.
Due to the complexity of distribution, coupled with its unique materials and design, a limited run of just 90 cases has been produced, and will be sold exclusively through Noise Engineering’s web shop.
Case of Steel is a robust and powerful solution for Eurorack synthesists, no matter where they are in their journey.
Case of Steel begins shipping on February 19th only at https://noiseengineering.us.

Make Noise is proud to announce: New Universal Skiff System, MultiWave MIDI Inlet Module, N.U.S.S Bundle and 2-Zone Skiff! More information below!
The New Universal Skiff System music synthesizer is a small system devoted to multi-channel modular synthesis, using control voltages to create poliphonic sound events. The MultiWAVE provides eight dual wavetable oscillators, the PoliMATHS provides eight complex function generators, and a pair of QXG modules combine for eight channels of low pass gate with stereo mix animation. Together, these three modules enable poliphonic patching from a simple set of controls. In addition to the 8 channels of Polimaths for modulation, the MultiMod creates eight time-shifted variants of a single control signal, for even deeper modulation capabilities within the New Universal Skiff System. QPAS provides Multi-Mode Multi-Peak Stereo Filtering, and the XOH provides a final stereo mix and line-level or headphone outputs for monitoring and/or performance. The system also includes a USB-C input that can be used for Activation of MultiWAVE channels via MIDI or MPE signals from a USB MIDI host (such as a computer running a DAW or MIDI sequencer). "A Streamlined Classic! MΓ€ander-M Wavetable Synth with Analog Filterbank & Sequencer
The Flame MΓANDER-M is a compact reimagining of a well-regarded classic from the Flame lineup — now more affordable and streamlined, but still packed with the same sonic depth. At its core is a wavetable synth engine, fed into the 12-channel analog bandpass filter bank, controlled by the internal pattern sequencer.
Sound sources include a polyphonic wavetable and FM oscillator, an analog white noise generator and an external audio input. The internal sequencer offers one polyphonic note track (up to 4-voice chords) and 14 mono tracks. The latter are dedicated to the filter channels, the audio input, and the noise source. Each track has its own VCA with individual envelope control and is accessible via MIDI notes.
Patterns can be created and saved as patches, and played live with ease. The built-in arpeggiator and keyboard scaler make the MΓANDER a powerful tool for live jamming and generative sequencing. Updates, patch management, and wavetable loading are handled conveniently via MIDI SysEx.
New in this version: direct oscillator output, stereo noise output, and stereo audio input. MΓ€ander comes fully mounted in a powered 56HP wooden skiff to get started right away.
The MΓ€ander module comes with a custom-made 56HP Eurorack case. Consisting of black anodised aluminium half-shells with wooden side panels, the case has a desk-style design. It includes a built-in power supply (+5V, +12V and -12V, each with an output current of 500 mA) and a plug-in power supply (9–18 V, 18 W), and can therefore also be used as a separate Eurorack case with other modules. The case is manufactured entirely in Germany, and the elegant wooden side panels are crafted from locally sourced wood, including cherry and elm."

"Have modular. Will travel.
Studio, cafe, stage, floor, coffee table—the 7U Performance case doesn't care where you play with it. Two 3U rows house and power all the modules you love (or one day hope to love), while the additional 1U row accommodates an extensive selection of specialized utility modules. Power, audio and MIDI/USB jacks on the back handle all the necessary inputs and outputs, ensuring all that rack space remains free for the "fun" modules. The lid has enough clearance to keep your system patched in transit, and two cases can be stacked with a set of joiners."
"PlantsSystem 'BlackPoint' is a techno sound imbued with a pitch-black texture, constructed using Cyan/n and Rebirth. Swelling low frequencies, inorganic particles of noise, and sharp, cutting synth lines intertwine beneath the minimalist beat, creating a dark groove that draws you into the depths of darkness.
The simple yet powerfully propulsive rhythm creates a profound and tense soundscape, exquisitely blending the transparent texture of Cyan/n with the hard-edged analog feel of Rebirth. The unique atmosphere, a blend of cold and heat, paints a profound worldview throughout the track.

"This is an extended version of the patch I created for the Antonus 'Patch Challenge'. The 90 second version was featured on their social media sites. :-) I really enjoyed listening to this patch and messing around with it, so thought I should record a longer version. This is a combination of generative and performance patching in that I could let it run for hours and it would be dynamic enough to listen to in the background, but it also was good fun to actively mess around with.
The hardware is the Antonus 2600 DIY version, with the Antonus SidecARP Eurorack expansion case, the Arturia KeyStep Pro and Fractal Audio VP4.
SidecARP modules are, from left to right:
ALM - Pamela's New Workout
Stochastic Instruments - Stochastic Inspiration Generator
Qu-Bit - Surface
Addac - Swell Physics
Molten Modular - Motion MTR
Black Corporation - Deckard's Voice
Make Noise - Mimeophon
Qu-Bit - Nautilus,
ALM - S.B.G Pro
Roland - 531 Mixer
KSP provides a clock signal to PNW and the five step "anchor" arpeggio to the 2600 Osc 1. SIG provides three separate sequences to ARP Osc 3, Surface and Deckard's Voice. The notes are based on the Dm scale. 2600 Osc 2 is LFOing the Cutoff. 2600 Noise is randomly mixed in for added texture. VP4 is used for some subtle flanger and reverb on the 2600 (through the S.B.G. Pro), but I also mix in some clock-sync'd panning and some delay. Surface goes into Nautilus and Deckard goes into Mimeophon. All mixed together in the Roland 531 mixer. Recorded on iPhone 12 Max through an iRig Pro from 531 line outs."
