This auction is for a LEM Galanti Group Analog Keyboard Synthesizer called "Insta strings". There are some nicks and scratches, but the unit functions perfectly. See the video clip. 45 Oberheim SEM Sounds
YouTube via 7thDanSound | February 07, 2011 |
"I really like my Oberheim SEM. This is my second one, still can't figure out why I sold the first one. It sounds extremely good and I just wish I had another to put in that empty slot to the right of mine. Now that the re-issue is out I just might! Also, below there is space for some patch panels to access all the goodies inside the SEM via it's patch points. I just realized there's room for some Euro modules too.
This video shows some of the capabilities of this little monster."

noteplex demo
YouTube via modeofx | February 07, 2011 |
"noteplex offers a new and unique way to create and experience music. In noteplex, you see the music happen before your eyes.
noteplex presents composers with a hexagonal board of cells on which can be placed nodes. A noteplex song begins when the first node fires a pulse. These pulses hit other nodes, which play their sounds and fire more pulses. Those new pulses hit other nodes, and so on. You're hearing a noteplex song!"

Warm Blooded Lizard & JJ OS for the Akai MPC-1000
Warm Blooded Lizard by Nym
"'Warm Blooded Lizard' is an album inspired by the music and emotions of the spaghetti western film genre, contrasted with the presence and attitude of instrumental hip hop.
Credits: released 01 February 2011. Thanks to Kathleen Drake, Emancipator, Erin Johnston, Sam Frank, Ennio Morricone, Sergio Leone, Justin Frankel, and Recollective.
Release date: Feb 1, 2011"
Nym sent the above in with the following: "This album was composed on the MPC1000 with "JJos," a third-party os which I have been beta testing since mid-2006. I used very minimal gear, including some home-made Arduino-based MIDI controllers."
It's been a while since I posted on JJ OS (here and here). I took a look at the JJ OS website and there have been a number of updates since then. MPC1000 JJ OS2XL 2.09 literally went up today. If you have an MPC-1000, check it out. You can find a list of user videos here.

Introducing Fairlight CMI Legacy II+ (reason refill)
YouTube via bitleyTM | February 07, 2011 |
"Introducing Fairlight CMI Legacy MKII+. Fairlight CMI Legacy MKII+ marks the introduction of a new release in the series of Fairlight refills, having been continously developed and updated for about a year and a half. Comparing the size of this new version with the original, it's pretty evident that lots has happened during this time. Six times larger than the original 400 Mb Fairlight CMI Legacy, introduced in April 2010, the new refill also comes with some stunning new concepts.
Technically speaking what we now have here is a Reason 4 and 5 compatible refill, loaded with no less than 2 304 instrument patches; 1 014 NNXT patches, 622 Combinator patches, over 190 ReDrum drum kits and much, much more.
Main news. All instruments are now divided into virtual machines. This is highly inspired by Elektron's Machinedrum & Monomachine grooveboxes. The Combinator graphics are brand new and unique for each machine / instrument. These have been designed with creative input and assistance from Kangebo Design in Stockholm, Sweden. All of the patches in the refill are named according to these instrument types, to make it easier to find the right sound when producing music.
These are some of the new instruments / machines in the refill; 4 UPETEUR. Analog Compuphonic Synth. AIRBASS. The total module for bass sounds. CHROME. Analog and chord synth module. DIG IT ALL. Digital synths. FAIRVOX. Fairlight Voices. ILLTURN 80R. Alternating patches. MEAN MACHINE. Edge and grit. ORLANDO. Analog JX Synths. P5. Analog synthesizer. THE LEGACY. CMI taken to new levels. THE ORCH. Orchestral with a twist. TWEEDLE. Keyboard sounds. UNDERCOVER. Drums, percussion and FX. XYLO 4N. Mallets. Last but not least; ZIGNATURE PATCHEZ.
Signature patches provided by DrLoop, Abstract Assasinator and EditEd4TV.
Background. Fairlight CMI was introduced in 1979 and it was the first ever keyboard instrument with digital sampling, ie recording of sounds and storing those in a computer-like fashion. The Fairlight systems of those days cost about 545 000 SEK; roughly 2 MSEK by today's value (about $350,000). The extremely high price combined with the fact that only highly successfull acts got to use it (like Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Keith Emerson, Howard Jones and many others) helped form a myth around the instrument. When I got the chance to use some original recordings directly from a Fairlight IIx I was instantly turned on by the idea of building a refill, since these sounds still are highly looked after. I contacted Fairlight in Australia and got a thumbs up about the project, and this has helped me build and maintain what today is the world's largest collection of Fairlight recordings. This is all available for Reason!
File size: 1,7 Gb (packed) or 2,49 Gb before packed with ReFill Packer.

Analogue Solutions Telemark #04 - Creating Drum Sounds on the Telemark Synthesizer
YouTube via rezfilter | February 07, 2011 |
"HOW TO: Create analogue drum sounds on an Analogue Solutions Telemark synthesizer.
This brief demo features a demonstration as well as custom patch sheets for how to create basic analogue drum sounds. The resulting drums are then combined to produce a small tune featured in the video.
Note: If recreating these sounds, PAUSE the video on the patch sheet page and dial in the settings on your Telemark. It would be helpful to maximize the video to full screen and to turn on HD for clarity (and better audio).
Headphones are also recommended to hear the sub frequencies of the kick drum and other deeper percussion.
The Oberkorn 16 step sequencer was used to create the various patterns via its X/Y gate outputs. Occasionally, CV A was used to dynamically change an attribute of a sound (and is noted in the video).
An Analogue Solutions Telemetry pin matrix synth provides the aggressive, unprocessed synth line under the drums.
Enjoy."

07 Roland-Ready GR-700 Turbo Synth NEW End Panels!
YouTube via WayneJoness | February 07, 2011 |
"I have been working with the Roland GR-700 since 1985! I have accumulated a large supply of GR-700 parts, some in great condition, and some rusty and worn-out. The GR-700 Turbo is built from the best possible components. All switches are clean, functional, and fully tested. In addition, I have replaced the original flimsy plastic end panels with new, solid block end panels custom made by California Acrylic Design in Los Angeles."
06 Roland-Ready GR-700 Turbo Synth - Final Version Voice Board with NEW Lithium Memory Battery
WayneJoness | February 07, 2011 |
"The GR-700 Turbo also has the final revision of the GR-700 Voice Board, plus a new battery for patch memory backup. The early GR-700 voice boards used open frame trimmers for the adjusting the critical parameters of each voice chip: level, DC balance, filter cutoff and resonance. The GR-700 Turbo has the last revision of the Voice Board with closed trimmers. The later Voice Boards also have additional test points to make testing and adjusting the board easier. And finally the 3 volt lithium memory backup battery has been replaced. This is the battery used to power the memory chip so that patches are retained even when the unit is turned off. This battery should last five years, so the original GR-700 batteries are long overdue for replacement!"

Shruthi-1
YouTube via e7ektro | February 07, 2011 |
"The Shruthi-1 from Paris/France based Mutable instruments is a nice hybrid monophonic synth with digital oscillators and an analog filter which can be selected among different flavors. The kit comes with an OTA-based filter which is built with widely available ICs. The digital oscillators are generated on an 8-bit microcontroller. Apart from the usual analog waveforms it can do wavetable synthesis and Phase Distortion synthesis among others. The user interface is really simple and intuitive. See mutable-instruments.net for further information."
