Miselu C.24 Kickstarter Campaign Hits Goal
via Miselu
"Hi everyone
This is really amazing! In less than a week we reached our campaign goal. We are thrilled about your support.
The campaign is still going strong with 20 days to go and there are even units left at $99. Visit our Kickstarter page for details:
www.miselu.com/kickstarter
We also had some rather positive press since the launch.
"This is arguably the most innovative thing to happen to compact keyboard actions in years," says Time Magazine.
Engadget, Mashable, USA Today and Nikkei, among others, have also weighed in quite favorably.
We are currently working on a series of videos that show the C.24 in action and will publish them in the next couple of weeks.
Again, thanks to everyone for pledging and supporting us.

Vintage Rare Steiner Parker Synthacon Silverface Analog Synth

Update: check out demos of a Synthacon here, here, here, and here.
"Up for auction is this super rare circa 1975 Steiner Parker Synthacon. This is the earlier, silverface, monophonic version of this legendary synth that you'd be lucky to see for sale once a year. One of the few synths that truly deserves the title of "rare". I was able to create some jaw dropping sounds and I know I haven't even scratched the surface of what this synth can do.
The Synthacon is a 3 oscillator fully analog synthesizer. To the unfamiliar eye it looks a lot like the control panel for an aircraft. But this is one powerful synth that is capable of producing sounds a Minimoog would only dream of.
Each oscillator can be modulated in a variety of ways, including LFO, EG1, EG2, VCF, and sample-and-hold. It also has a pink and white noise generator. This synth is also known for having one of the best filters ever designed - it is super crunchy and the modulation routing is top notch. You can of course, get polyphonic sounds by blending the oscillators like most analog synths.
This synth has 49 keys w/ controls for Tune, Scale, Portamento, Range Select (8 octave range), and pitch bend.
You also have your other basic controls for attack, decay, sustain, and release, trigger rate, and sample and hold level."

The Shbobo Shnth - a New Brand and Synth by Ciat-Lonbarde's Peter Blasser

Published on Jul 15, 2013 soundofcode·2 videos
Update: The Shbobo shnth is latest instrument design from Peter Blasser of ciat-lonbarde. Shbobo is a new brand from Peter Blasser that will showcase his digital creations.
"A little explanation of this patch: it uses the four bars to trigger four horses (asymmetric triangle-wave oscillators). since each horse has 4 parameters that can be dynamically modulated, the 4 yellow buttons are used to switch these modulations on and off. the modulations are:
a) FM the uprate of this oscillator by the previous oscillator; control the amt of modulation w/ the left antenna
b) modulate the down rate of this oscillator by itself on the press of its bar
c) modulate the upper bound of the oscillator by the next oscillator; control the amount of modulation with the right antenna
d) modulate the lower bound of this oscillator by the oscillator two over on release of its bar
the white buttons are used to retune the pitches of the oscillators ala the analog scrolls of the sidrassi, but that wasn't used here. video credit to my daughter marina!"

Or, the Shnth itself is a standalone synthesizer, which may be programmed by host in the new language, "Shlisp", by Shbobo. It is potentially self powered, by batteries, which are charged, again, via USB. A switch turns it on, and 16 bit sound comes out a standard stereo 3.5mm jack. Like a laptop; it is "handtop". Four bars on top feel your fingers and two woven antennae below sense flesh, complimented by a battery of buttons. There are red lights."

Boxed Ear OSCar Kontakt Sample Pack Released
"Boxed Ear is proud to present OSCar Kontakt Sample pack.
Boxed Ear has announced the release of OSCar, a new library for Kontakt 4 and 5 made entirely with the OSC OSCar synthesizer.
Released in 1983 by the Oxford Synthesizer Company, the OSCar was a unique combination of analog and digital. The oscillators are a digital design with the capability of being able to build waveforms using additive synthesis. These feed into an analogue multi-mode filter design which was inspired by the Minimoog trick of looping the synths output back into the filter's input to overdrive the filter circuits, resulting in a characteristically crunchy sound.
Included in the pack are 119 Kontakt instruments which cover a wide range of synth sounds, both monophonic and polyphonic: tough basses, gorgeous evolving pads, complex leads and a host of other synth sounds all stamped with the OSCar’s unique sound.
Details:
1.1Gb soundset
Over 2300 samples at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz quality
119 Kontakt instruments
Availability and pricing
OSCar costs USD $49, EUR €39 or GBP £30 inc.VAT and is available now from the Boxed Ear website.
Full version of Kontakt 4 or 5 is required. OSCar does NOT work with the free Kontakt Player."

"An Improvisation with Elektron Analog Four.
My Octatrack failed to startup since yesterday. I will need to send it back to Elektron. So here's a song for my Octatrack using just an Analog Four and with Arturia Minilab as a MIDI controller."

"Triangle waveforms without any filters.
Okay maybe the Kaoss pad JET filter on the ribbon controller sound.
The project used 12 vco's, three 5 Pulser wave folders and two Analog Shift registers. I also used three step sequencers and a Ken Stone CGS01 Harmonic Sequencer for the modular synth parts. The keyboard parts are FM7 Mordor patch and the ribbon part is the modular synth with my custom Arduino controller module.
At the end of this video is a primer on the various elements used to create the sound scape."
