Moog Grandmother Analog Explorations + Final Review
Analog Synthesizer Demo by Rik Marston
**Watch in HD!!** **Turn it UP!!**
Here it is right out of the box, no patching.
Super awesome MOOG GRANDMOTHER semi-modular
analog synthesizer, almost perfection I'd say (minus the
Ultimate Support Stand issue). I would recommend this
synth to anyone interested in the Classic Moog Vibe,
funky basses, epic leads.... I can go on! Very fun to play!
It's super solid, built like a tank, knobs are sweet to twist!
Final Rating: 8.9 out of 10. Just wish we can have this
in a 49 key and fix the issues underneath so Ultimate
Support Stand users don't have to put something under
the Grandmother to keep it from bouncing up & down.
There are some sounds in this demo that are very LOW
so watch your speakers & headphones! It's earthshaking!
I LOVE THE MOOG GRANDMOTHER!!! WIN! WIN! WIN!!!!!!!!!

"Aaron Copland has always been one of my favorite composers and the Deckard's Dream synthesizer was the perfect synth to do my favorite piece by him, "Fanfare For The Common Man".
Aaron Copland (November 14, 1900 – December 2, 1990) was an American composer, composition teacher, writer, and later a conductor of his own and other American music. Copland was referred to by his peers and critics as "the Dean of American Composers." The open, slowly changing harmonies in much of his music are typical of what many people consider to be the sound of American music, evoking the vast American landscape and pioneer spirit. He is best known for the works he wrote in the 1930s and 1940s in a deliberately accessible style often referred to as "populist" and which the composer labeled his 'vernacular' style. Works in this vein include the ballets Appalachian Spring, Billy the Kid and Rodeo, his Fanfare for the Common Man and Third Symphony. In addition to his ballets and orchestral works, he produced music in many other genres including chamber music, vocal works, opera and film scores.
Other than reverb from Valhalla DSP, only the Deckard's Dream synthesizer by Black Corporation was used. Thanks for viewing and I hope you enjoyed it. PLEASE subscribe if you haven't already. :)"

"Here is the newly launched Yamaha CP88 STAGE PIANO. I'll give you a overview of this fascinating digital piano and share my first impressions review. We'll demo some of the sounds by playing song requests that you submitted on social media.
The CP88 and CP77 are due for release in February 2019 so this is a great opportunity to get my hands on a prototype.
This is not a paid or sponsored video, simply a good opportunity for me to collaborate with a major brand and an interesting new keyboard that I was curious to try myself and share with my community."

SUB SECTION
Pads, strings, basses, brass, leads, organs… That’s what the Sub Section is all about. Because this Section is often used for synth pad layers behind an acoustic or electric piano basic Attack and Release envelope controls are here to fine tune your sound. If you want to split the keyboard and play left hand bass you’ll find acoustic, electric and synth basses in the Sub Section. And a decent selection of tone wheel, combo and pipe organ are here along with a rotary speaker effect controllable with the modulation slider:
Note this is the first Majella post on the site. Some audio demos and additional details:
"This is a do it yourself (DIY) full kit! For an assembled module click here.
This kit is designed to be as easy as possible for the DIY community. It is a very good kit for starting DIY’ers because of these features:
through hole components
symmetrical printed circuit board layout
low part count
no trimming/tuning required.
Only basic soldering skills and equipment are required!
Module description:
The VVCA is a dual linear VCA can be used for audio and CV signals.
The VVCA features two individual VCA’s. Each VCA behaves just like any other normal VCA when there is no cable connected to the velocity input. The velocity input offers velocity control over the CV input level, which means: The output level can be controlled by CV and Velocity.
This module uses the 5V rail (16 pin eurorack connector)!
Included items are:
Panel (128.5 x 20 x 2 mm)
PCB
All components (Resistors, capacitors, IC’s, etc.)
Connectors + hex nuts
montage screws
Rack crash protectors
16 pin power cable"
"Own a piece of Korg history! The KRS77 has all original buttons knobs and sliders and all function as intended. All inputs have been tested and are working. Unique drum machine in great condition for its age. Comes with leather carrying case. Power supply not included."
"Diving further into a few sounds of the Toraiz AS-1, we show what the sub oscillator and noise components can add to a sound, and of course a bunch of tweaking and playing in general."
Depressing news in Britain today, and with that in mind here's a bit of a 80's post apocalyptic movie soundtrack kind of thing, synthwave if you will, on a Korg Volca Keys synced up to Korg Ds-10 on the Nintendo Ds-10 with my own little green tin box mixer. It's not a happy post apocalypse, by the sounds of it I think the robots are winning."
"After a last delivery from Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers today we have a small unboxing movie Lifeforms Primary Oscillator and the first sound, It's an amazing VCO but we show a lot more soon and meanwhile, look how nice it looks and taste the sound."
"Korg has a new version of the Minilogue, the Minilogue XD. It has all of the great sounding analog features of the original Minilogue with the addition of the Digital Multi-Engine first introduced in the Prologue. The Digital Multi-Engine allows you to use multiple different types of digital oscillators and sound generators and mix them with the two analog oscillators. The Minilogue XD has a 12db/octave filter with drive as well as an updated polyphonic sequencer. Another upgrade from the original Minilogue is the addition of digital effects which include modulation, delay and reverb.
Today we've started to build the very first prototype - what an amazing moment. Over the next few days we will assemble the complete unit and of course share pics with you.
If you want to see this happen you might want to back the Kickstarter here. They are currently only $2201 of their $4000 goal with 7 backers. Help spread the word. Abstrakt Instruments brought us the highly acclaimed Avalon Bassline, essentially a TB-303 on steroids.
A quick recap on the campaign:
"This is your chance to help fund and procure parts for the iconic LinnDrum (LM-2) Drum Machine. This is the second in our series of meticulously designed replacement parts projects for vintage synths & drum machines. This project follows up the completion of the Oberheim OB-X Parts Project. We've established a low funding goal of $4k to cover the cost of the custom parts to get the project off the ground.
Before getting into the details of the actual parts we'll clearly state what is being offered. We are offering bare PCB's and PCB Assemblies for the LinnDrum (LM-2) Drum Machine:
LinnDrum MXR PCB Assembly

"Korg has a new Volca out, the Volca Modular which is the same size as the other Volcas and can sync with them, but is a semi-modular analog synthesizer. The inspiration for the synthesis is West Coast and includes a complex oscillator, two function generators and two low pass gates as well as a random "woggle" generator. The sequencer has some new playback modes for less repetition and there is a built in reverb as well. The synth makes sound un-patched, but you can re-route the signals and process them to get other interesting sounds.

"My entry to the 'soundtrack' challenge (on Woody Piano Shacks Discord server, for the rest of the world ;-) ). I found using this sound challenging indeed. :-) #jamuary2019"
"At the beginning of July 2018 SchneidersLaden had the opportunity to welcome Wowa Cwejman again. The occasion was the presentation of four new modules. Wowa Cwejman was so kind to give us an overview of these modules in the large showroom of SchneidersLaden, together with Tom Körting they went through all new aspects of the modules and patched some sound examples. With the displayed oscilloscope you get a good sense of what is happening with the signals. All in all a lot of new possibilities to explore!
"So this is literally my first patch with the Neutron and BeatStep pro, combined with VCV Rack. I was still not so sure how to sync the BeatStep with VCV Rack, so what I've done is, I set the same BPM in both VCV Rack and on the BeatStep Pro, and sent the Start trigger via MIDI from the BeatStep to trigger the Reset function on the clock module I've used in VCV Rack, Clocked from Impromptu Modular. So every time I started the sequence, Clocked would reset and since both Clocked and the BeatStep are set to the same BPM, both sequences were in sync. This is, of course, not the ideal way of doing this, and I hope to record soon a proper video on how to sync VCV Rack with the BeatStep Pro. Anyway, the BeatStep is sending CV to the Neutron, controlling the pitch of both oscillators separately and triggering its envelope, and the velocity function is modulating the cutoff point of the filter. The Neutron is going directly to my DAW, which is Reaper, and the different voices from VCV Rack are also being sent to Reaper, each voice to its own track. I use also the Midilar to control a few modules in VCV Rack, having hands-on experience also in this department."
"If the original Indigo was a Virtual-Analog Roadster, this baby is a stunning Silver Speedster. The Virus Indigo 2 offers everything you need to produce high-octane sonic masterpieces in a compact package that’s built for comfort and speed. The original limited edition Indigo revamped an entire industry’s concept of supply and demand.
Now, equipped with a new front-panel and the engine of the Virus C, the Indigo 2 is ready to do it again. Only this time, it’s got a souped-up transmission: a 3-octave keyboard with Aftertouch!
Ultra-cool… with aluminum side panels and even more blue LEDs, the Indigo-2 packs power, portability and the legendary virus sound into a stunning presentation with the style and substance to take you anywhere and everywhere—all by itself. And you can’t imagine better handling, taking your creativity from zero to infinity in no time flat.
GREAT CONDITION for its age, this has a few marks from drumstick hits. We have had this unit from new since the 80's, and has never let us down. We had a separate on off switch installed to help preserve battery life. Comes complete with original stand and instruction booklet."
"The first commercially available synth to implement MIDI!! It's a fun synth. Its big brother is the legendary Prophet 5. The P600 is very affordable today and is a great buy. Models with the newest software will enjoy polyphonic MIDI implementation and up to 100 memory patches to store their own sounds! The sound of the Prophet 600 is brighter and harsher than that of a Juno 106 but still just as funky.
This unit has been used constantly and because of that it exhibits some wear. As you see in the photos one of the wood panels is chipped. Other than that the keyboard works as it's supposed to."
Today I demonstrate my 2xVCA Eurorack module, an analog dual voltage controlled amplifier. Channel 1 is processing modulated noise coming from the E352. Channel 2 is handling an arpeggio from the CEM3340 VCO. My 2xADSR dual envelope is sending CVs to the VCA. I've added a kick from Future Retro Transient, and bass from DNA/101-VCF.
Recorded direct to a Tascam DR-05, some Timefactor delay used.
"My version from Mitch Murder's Epic masterpiece - Turning Point.
I wanted to make my own version, both to learn and to see if I figure out even half of whats going on in the original. I didn't nail all the sounds, but I tried to archive the feel and mood of the original.
This is by far the most difficult recreation I've ever done and I gave up when I finished the 2 parts from the original three :D The bass line programming with the drums alone took hours and hours.

"Erica Synths Black CV Tools is full analogue CV and audio processor module designed for advanced manipulations with signals – mixing, scaling, offsetting, waveshaping, etc."
"The Stylophone Gen R-8 - the latest analog touch synthesizer from Dubreq.
The Stylophone GEN R-8 is a dual VCO British made boutique synthesizer with a fully analog signal path and a touch keyboard that you can play with your finger.
The VCOs have "divide-down analog" sub-oscillators (one octave down) and subsub oscillators (two octaves down) that all can be switched on at the same time for a total of six oscillators sounding at once.
The filter is a proprietary British design 12 dB state variable filter with Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass and Wide Notch modes.
An eight waveform LFO with dual outputs can be patched to all of the GEN R-8s CV inputs or external CV inputs on other instruments.
There's a patch panel with 19 3.5mm jack CV/Gate and audio patch points which makes it integrate nicely with Eurorack systems.
The traditional ADSR envelope has been augmented with a short hold stage at the Attack/Decay peak for a punchier sound.
An analog style Delay (based on the Princeton pt2399 chip) is nice and grungy and can be modulated with the Time CV input.
The mixer has a unity AUX input which allows external sound sources to be processed through the GEN R-8s Filter/Delay/Drive audio chain, where the Drive is a classic British silicon diode overdrive circuit with an added JFET booster stage.
A step sequencer with 8 banks and 16 steps per sequence can play the GEN R-8 synthesizer engine or external synthesizers through the CV/Gate or MIDI outputs.
The GEN R-8 also works as a MIDI controller keyboard (with Local ON/OFF) where the CV/Gate outputs on the sequencer doubles as keyboard CV/Gate when the sequencer is not running.
Finally, the 3-octave touch keyboard has two additional performance keys for momentary engagement of Glide and Modulation, and it's all enclosed in a heavy duty black powder coated steel casing."
