"Rare and amazing Mutronics Mutator with MIDI and CV. Equipped with original vintage SSM 2045 filter chips, as used in the E-mu Emulator II. You know that this is the most sought after analog filter with modulation and envelope follower, as used by Daft Punk, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Dust Brothers and so many more.. This unit is excellent condition, super clean and just been professionally serviced with new psu electrolytic capacitors and new waveform selector rotary switches (not cheap). There's just one very minor racking mark in the top right corner (as you can see in the photos)"

Update: the synth used for the above demo is a Minimoog loop.

ARP Pro Soloist High Pass (HP) Filter Section Clone by O.Z. Hall

Published on May 14, 2020 O.Z. Hall

"I cloned the ARP Pro Soloist High Pass (HP) Filter section. The output of the high pass filter section goes straight into the 24DB/Oct Low Pass filter on the soloist.
There are 4 - 6DB/oct HP filter circuites at 4 different cutoffs. They are in parallel. The outputs are summed.
This video demonstrates each of the 4 filters in isolation. Next they filters are combined in every combination (limit two filters at a time)."

SoundSpot Union Software Wavetable Synthesizer Plugin VST, AU, AAX - Sound Demo and Tutorial

Published on May 12, 2020 Runningonair

"In this video I take a close look at the SoundSpot Union Wavetable Synth Plugin. The first half deals with sound demo of the factory patch set. The second half deals with how it works and how to programme it."

This one is in via Runningonair who did the video above. The following are some demos and details via the maker, SoundSpot:

"Union is SoundSpot’s next-generation wavetable synthesizer audio plugin, featuring a unique wavetable generator that lets you create harmonically rich wavetable sets from the output of Union’s main oscillators: a technique frequently used by the world’s best sound designers to create rich and deep sounds. Union allows you to utilize this synthesis technique with a single click of a button.

The Union plugin comes with unique features such as independent filters per oscillator, which allows a deeper control over the shaping of your sound, and a unison engine that can run up to 96 voices in a single note play.

Innovative Modulation System

Union features an innovative click through modulation system that allows you to quickly create rich and compelling sounds.

Oscillator 1, 2 and 3 include their own dedicated ADSR, MOD ADSR and LFO envelopes and Oscillator 3 includes an additional wavetable window that allows you to scrub through stereo wavetable sets to create organic movement in your sounds.

In addition, the master FX chain features 4 LFOs that can be assigned to any master FX control, and includes a trigger mode so they can be used more like a conventional ADSR envelope further increasing the creative possibilities.

The Best Of Analog And Digital In One Audio Plugin

Everyone loves the rich, dense sound of hardware, but most find it’s limitations frustrating. With this in mind, we set out to build a synthesizer that provided all of features of analog equipment with the precision and convenience of the digital realm.

Union has been modelled from some of the best sounding synths in music history, and combines this raw power with unique features such as wavetable generation that simply wouldn’t be possible in purely analog form. This results in a synthesizer that truly rivals hardware, but lives inside your computer.

Do All Your Post-Processing Inside The Union Audio Plugin

Once you’ve made your sound, it’s time to give it that final polish. However there’s no need to go adding multiple audio plugin to your channel strip as the Union plugin features an FX rack that contains 9 professional quality post processing effects.

These include: Compressor, 4 Band Parametric EQ, Distrortion, Delay, Phaser, Chorus, Filter & Flanger. Furthermore a brand new Reverb modelled on analog hardware has been included.

All of the FX use the best algorithms from SoundSpot’s post processing audio plugins range. This means you can acheive a professional polished sound inside of Union.

Mystic Circuits ANA Processing Gates and Triggers

Published on May 14, 2020 Mystic Circuits

"We at Mystic Circuits have been hard at work improving the overall quality and style of our videos. Im an engineer, not a Youtuber, so it has been quite a process. Hopefully the work is worth it and the new demos will be more enjoyable and easier to follow.

This demo is on using ANA to process gates and triggers for manipulating rhythms either with the twist of a knob or with voltage control. Unlike most logic processors ANA computes analog logic so variable and negative voltages can also be processed. This adds a ton of flexibility even when processing static unipolar signals like gates and triggers. Many complex logic functions are possible with some creative patching.

For more info on ANA and how it works check out our first ANA demo:" [posted here]

MPC Beats Academy | MPC Live II

Published on May 14, 2020 AkaiProVideo

And the press release:

"AKAI PROFESSIONAL® INTRODUCES MPC LIVE II – THE FIRST MPC WITH BUILT-IN STEREO MONITORS
Standalone production capability, rechargeable battery, built-in monitors, CV/Gate connectivity and MIDI Multi functionality - MPC Live II is truly fit to carry the name of its predecessor

Ft Lauderdale, FL USA (May 14, 2020) — Akai Professional, a leading manufacturer of music equipment for performers and producers, today announced its newest portable standalone music production center, the MPC Live II, packed with all the enhancements from the recent software update for the entire MPC line, MPC 2.8.
MPC Live II builds on its phenomenally successful predecessor and introduces built-in monitor speakers for a completely standalone music-making experience. While traveling or in the studio, MPC Live II is ready to perform wherever inspiration strikes!

Standalone Music Production
Like the MPC X and MPC One, MPC Live II operates as a fully standalone music production center. MPC Live II is powered by MPC software – a unique hardware / software ecosystem that empowers users with the legendary, feature-rich workflow that has been used on countless hits since the introduction of the MPC series. The 7-inch, multi-gesture touchscreen enables producers to access all the features needed to create a beat or a recording from start to finish. MPC Live II also adds five new hardware buttons to improve the editing workflow. With features including Mute, Time Correct and Mix, users can edit and tweak tracks without skipping a beat.

Newest MPC 2.8 Software
New to Akai Professional’s standalone, multi-core powered MPC Series is MIDI Multi capability. The MPC Software 2.8 update, transforms MPC Live II into the ultimate MIDI sequencing studio centerpiece. Now users can simultaneously connect and route all the MIDI gear in their studio, including class-compliant USB Keyboards, MIDI interfaces and USB to CV modules, supercharging MPC Live II’s I/O capability. Fuse this with deep internal MIDI routing capability across tracks, comprehensive MIDI routing to any MIDI compatible synthesizer, drum machine or sound module, and even multitrack recording capability, and MPC Live II forms the beating heart of any production setup.

Built-In Monitors
MPC Live II’s built-in monitoring system offers a dynamic response spanning the full musical range, meticulously reproducing detailed high-frequency audio information while still delivering accurate low frequencies. From sharp, cutting hi-hats to punchy 808 drums and deep bass lines, MPC Live II eliminates all barriers between beatmakers and their music. MPC Live II’s built-in monitors not only provide a convenient set of reference monitors for studio use, but a great platform for listening, creating and collaborating on-the-go without headphones.

CV/Gate, WiFi, and Bluetooth Connectivity
With MPC Live II, complete standalone production capability fuses with an ultra-portable specification and an arsenal of connectivity options for complete hook-up flexibility with all your studio gear. With eight new CV/Gate outputs (four TRS jacks), producers can now incorporate modular connectivity into their MPC Live setup. Coupled with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, users can also enjoy the seamless side-by-side workflow of MPC and Ableton Live.

Rechargeable Battery
The most complete mobile production experience couldn’t exist without a reliable power source for long-lasting on-the-go sessions. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives you all the power you need for up to five hours of on-the-go music creation, so you can work wherever inspiration strikes.

16GB Sound Library
The MPC Live II comes with a robust 16GB sound library of high-quality samples and loops, including a new library from F9 Audio and the new Sonic Boom sound set. For those who need even more access to content, your Splice account curations are just a few taps away, with direct access via the 7-inch multi-gesture touchscreen and Wi-Fi connection.
