In Your Mix - Volume 6 - Sequential Prophet 10 Rev4 - Building a Track

video by iusandwe

"This week I put the Prophet 10 Rev4 through its paces and walk you through building a track with it. This was my first real go with the synth and so far I'm loving it. Every sound, excluding drums, is the Prophet 10."

And a few tutorials featuring the OB-6 followed by the Peak:

Rik Marston Explores Red Mountain Open Space Northern Colorado 2021 Ambient Music

video by Rik Marston Official

"'Rik Marston Explores Red Mountain Open Space'
Geology exploration video & ambient music by Rik Marston
**No Talking!** **Pure Nature Bliss** **Ambient Music**

Rik Marston POV footage from Red Mountain Open Space located near the Wyoming / Colorado border. Pure BLISS. Pure Earth Magic! You are looking at MILLIONS of years of geological history before your eyes. So incredible to look at & feel the energies, it gives me goosebumps! I actually was looking at rocks 2 miles north of this area (out of the park) and found a few beautiful spots for videos and pictures. I'll film that next time. Big hike though, not for the faint of heart. Worth every step! I did manage to find a small 2 gram ordinary chondrite meteorite. -And that makes all of the trip worth it even more!

RITM-2 Vintage Soviet Mono Synthesizer w/ MIDI

via this auction

"Vintage mono analog Russian synthesizer in great condition, all functions work with the exception of the lower E flat key having intermittent issues with sticking and likely can be remedied by service on the key action. In addition, all of the controls work but the switches are tight to move and could be adjusted / loosened. In addition, MIDI has been installed on the synthesizer with the details below. To note, power is 220V but can easily be used at 110v with a simple step up / down converter. Thanks!

MIDI INTERFACE INSTALLED: - Adds MIDI IN connector - MIDI LEARN button for fast and easy active midi channel selection - NOTE SCALE CHANGE switch (in MIDI mode for arpeggios)"

Nanoloop FM Device (Synth Sequencer Drum machine chip tunes LSDJ)

via this auction

"These devices are not currently available, but you can read about them on the Nanoloop website here.

It's a 4 channel synth/sequencer/drum machine and it works great. The battery holders can be a bit tight for some brands of AAA battery (this is a known issue), but I was able to use my Ikea rechargeables fine.

I find the GUI on this device a bit hard to get used to and I'm having a change around of my gear (selling some stuff so that I can buy other stuff...)"

See the Nanoloop label for demos.

Dennis Colin - Significant Events (Bright Sparks Outtake)

video by GForce Software

"A fascinating and touching outtake from the Bright Sparks Documentary where ex-ARP engineer Dennis Colin recalls two of the most significant events of his life.

Dennis was a joy to film and listen to and even though his health was poor, his mind was super sharp. Sadly Dennis passed away shortly after we recorded this at his home in New Hampshire. However, his work lives on in the ARP2600, Aries 300 Modular and the legendary Oberheim SEM filter.

Originally released in December 2015 to critical acclaim and created to compliment the I Monster album of the same name, Bright Sparks documents the human stories of eight musical instrument pioneers, - Robert Moog (Moog), Alan R Pearlman (ARP), Don Buchla, Harry Chamberlin, The Bradley Brothers (Mellotronics), Adrian Wagner (Electronic Dream Plant), Peter Zinovieff (EMS) and Ken Freeman.

'The result is a documentary that isn’t merely well informed, it’s definitive.'

Resident Evil Vs. The Sequential OB-6 Synthesizer

video by Mono Memory

"Howdy. This is a first test with my new Sequential OB-6 synth. See what Resident Evil themes you can pick out! This was bounced out from a recent livestream; more polished footage in full 4k will feature down the line. What do you think of the sound the ob-6 has got going on? I'm super pleased, very John Carpenter and 80's-sounding synth."

Some ambient groove using the LFOs on the Prophet 12, some Microcosm and the Digitakt

video by Christopher White

"I love the LFOs in the @Sequential Prophet 12! This is a simple chord progression, triggering the LFOs in the Prophet with 4 note chords. The LFOs do the rest.

LFO1 is. Rev Saw controlling the LPF Cutoff as 16th notes
LFO2 is Rev Saw controlling the HPF Cutoff as 1 quarter notes
LFO3 is triangle controlling the Osc 2 Shape Mod as dotted quarter notes.
LFO4 is Rev Saw controlling the Delay 4 time as quarter triplets. I wanted this to give slight pitch fluctuations.

Osc1 is Tines with 70 glide and 10 slop.
Osc2 is Tri
Osc3 is Sine
Osc4 is off.

The @Hologram Electronics Microcosm is set to HazeA. The @Elektron Digitakt is set to all sorts..."

Vintage Jen SX1000 synthesizer clean up and demo

video by Ian Dixon

"After cleaning up old computers I thought I would get my old synthesizer out of the loft and give it a bit of love. The Jen SX1000 is an Italian monosyth manufactured around 1978 which I paid £40 sometime in the late 80s just before analogue became in vouge again. It has a single oscillator, no memories and no midi but is sounds great and the simple layout makes it easy to understand and a great way of leaning subtractive synthesis.
I had not used the synth for some time and while it worked, the controls (potentiometer) crackled when turning them and some controls like the LFO speed didn’t work at all. So armed with a can of Servisol Super 10 contact cleaner I cleaned the potentiometers which after a bit of persistence cleaned nicely.

The controls are nice and clean and there is no noise or crackles when turning them, the LFO works correctly and everything on the synth is working well. I still have a broken top C key which is missing a spring which I am still trying to track down but after a good clean the machine looks and sounds great.
In this video go through the restoration process and then give a quick demo of the sound of the Jen SX1000."

5 Ways to Use Beads From Mutable Instruments

Fess Grandiose is here to show just five of the approaches he likes to take with the instrument: using Beads as a delay, reverb, and pitch-shifting effect; using it to repeat or splice beats; and using it as an oscillator.

nLab Synthesis KOSMO for Reaktor

video by nLab Synthesis

"Kosmo is a 3-track based experimental groovebox and sound generator for Reaktor 6.4. Taking inspiration from the so-called 'West Coast' synthesis and old soviet synthesizers aesthectic, Kosmo employs and simplifies some of their most important features to build a 3-track experimental groove-box and sound generator combining a distinctive and raw sound with a user-friendly interface offering many creative capabilities. To research and explore your sound, you can move through folded triangle oscillators, low pass gates, cycling envelopes, random sequencer, chaotic LFOs, XY pad and a set of effects. In few steps, you can make a chaotic and distorted percussion pattern as well as an evolving and dreamy soundscape.

*Only for the full version of Reaktor 6.4 and later.
