1969 Moog IIIP Vintage Modular Synthesizer For Sale or NYC Studio Use
video upload by tonetweakers
"The Moog modular was one of the first commercially available synthesizers. Sold in different configurations, the Moog IIIP consisted of 3 portable cabinets. Containing ten (!) 901 series oscillators, the best lowpass and highpass filters in the biz, and a magical spring reverb that makes things sound more organic, we can't think of any other synth that matches the warmth and fatness of this genuine 1969 vintage Moog modular. Wendy Carlos’s classic album Switched on Bach and I Feel Love by Donna Summer were recorded on similar Moog modular systems. We just finished refurbishing this gorgeous example (assuming we don’t find any problems as we continue to test it). Restoration was done in stages and took many months to complete. Total tech time spent was around 85 hours. We hit a snag when some parts we ordered turned out to be fakes - a sadly common occurrence these days - but we eventually managed to track down some legit replacements. We originally planned to sell this system, but after spending some time patching it, we don’t know if we can let this one go! If this system was set up in a commercial studio here in New York City where it was available for use, would you be interested? If so, please email us. Or, make us a serious offer and if it's tempting enough, maybe we'll sell it. We'd also consider trades for similar vintage modular systems (Roland System 700, Buchla 200, Polyfusion, Emu Modular, ARP 2500, etc). We have a smaller (single cabinet) real vintage Moog Model 15 that's ready for sale.
We buy sell trade refurbish vintage synths and electronic musical instruments.

Moog Minimoog Model D | The archetype for a reason
video upload by Jay Hosking
"Please support my work on Patreon: / jayhosking
Exploring the classic.
00:00 - Intro
00:50 - One oscillator, then two, then three
03:58 - Ghost lead
04:24 - Triangle beauty
05:14 - High fifth bass
05:58 - Noise and glide
08:33 - Oscillator 3 drone 1
09:45 - Oscillator 3 drone 2
10:25 - Oscillator 3 drone 3
13:00 - Subdued single square
13:58 - Fifth arp with key tracking
15:31 - LFO finale
This is an exploration of the Moog Minimoog Model D, no goals other than to have fun. The Walrus Slöer adds reverb and sounds beautiful. There was no additional processing to the sound. And what a beautiful sound it is.
The Minimoog Model D is one of the two main instruments that started my love of synths in the first place. I've long wanted one, and the reissue's wood looked especially beautiful, but I had to wait until I saw it at the right price. That happened last week, and here we are.
Yes, I know there are clones, and I know those clones can sound very very good. I'm not telling you that this is somehow magically better; it probably isn't. But I can tell you it feels like an instrument, it's beautiful to the touch, it has a heft to it, and the wood makes it feel like an installation piece or furniture or something that occupies physical space in the environment. I feel like I'm sharing the room with it, a creative environment, and that's a harder thing to quantify.
Some full songs will be coming with it at some point. How could they not? It's just incredible.
Thanks for listening."
The past, present & future of AJH Synth // Celebrating 10 years of the MiniMod Eurorack range
video upload by DivKid
"I recently learnt that AJH Synth were celebrating 10 years since the release of their first modules with the MiniMod Eurorack range. Back then I was immediately taken by the quality of sound, vintage tone and open modular architecture capable of taking things way beyond the classic Moog MiniMoog Model D sound. I've got to know Allan over this past decade and we've worked together loads on modules that utterly nail that lush vintage analogue sound and also modern forward thinking new ideas ... so I jumped at the idea of making a celebration video!"

The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” - SYNTH PARTS YOU’VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE!
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"I’m going to take you on a quest into one of The Beatles’ most iconic songs, 'Here Comes the Sun', and show you something I recently discovered, that really surprised me. — THERE ARE SYNTHESIZERS IN THIS ACOUSTIC AND ORGANIC SOUNDING TRACK!
I’ll break down the arrangement of this beautiful song and show you how to create all the synth sounds that were used to transcend it's sound. We’ll cover everything from the signature whistle sound, the main lead synth, the intro sound, and the buzzy synth bass that gives the track its vibe. I’ll also discuss the Beatles’ evolution as they started experimenting with effects on traditional instruments, which ultimately led them to integrate synthesizers in ways that completely reshaped what others thought possible.
They used the Moog synthesizer to replace orchestral parts in some sections of the song and to complement the acoustic elements in others. It was all about pushing the boundaries of what was possible at the time but still keeping their unique voice in tact.
What makes this even more special is that I’ve recreated these sounds on my rare, vintage 1969 Moog IIIc — the same model that was shipped just months after The Beatles received their own Moog directly from Bob Moog. This instrument, used on the 'Plantasia' album by Mort Garson, is in fully working order, so it’s my chance to give you a sense of the subtle nuances The Beatles heard when they first explored this revolutionary sound in their music. I’ll bring you as close to the original sound as possible and show you exactly how they used it in 'Here Comes the Sun'.
So, grab your synths (or just sit back and enjoy), and let’s take a closer look at how The Beatles incorporated this groundbreaking technology into their timeless music. You might just discover something new about one of the most loved songs in history and how you can do the same in your music today.
Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell so you don’t miss out on any of the synth goodness I have coming your way! Also, check out my course Think Like a Synth to learn the exact method I've used for decades on hit records and films — and still use today.

"Beautiful 50 year old Moog that can do things no other Moog can do. It's the only Duophonic Moog! You can set one osc as low note and one to high note for duophonic playing, set it as a mono synth, or even change the scaling of the high osc for microtonal playing. This Moog has the same oscillators and filter as the Minimoog Model D but instead of the Mini's third osc that doubles as it's only lfo, the S6 has TWO dedicated LFOs that can have separate wave shapes and rates and can be modulated by the eg! Modulation craziness. This Moog also has TWO amps! One signal goes through the filter, as usual, but there is a second amp that bipasses the filter. This means you can have a high resonance sweeping filter sound going (which kills all low end on every Moog) but you can beef it back up with the dry out amp. I've had most Moogs and think this is by far the best and most powerful Moog. I passed on a Minimoog for only 3k years ago and sold my Multimoog when I got my first S6. Everything works. Tuning and scaling was just adjusted and it's working great. I barely play it and have some studio changes in mind so it's on the chopping block. Sold as-is. No returns and I am not responsible for any guts getting shaken during shipping. It's 50 years old and it's in excellent shape for that age. Tuning and calibration info can be found online if you need it after shipping. Also considering selling the Polymoog 203a seen in the photos which is also fully functional and includes the rare Polypedals. A little demo video of the two can be seen in the link. The S6 tune drift in the video is actually a slow LFO and not just drifting. Also the video was done before I tweaked the scaling pots inside."

Being perhaps the most popular version of one of the most iconic monophonic analog synth series of all time is no easy feat, but the Moog Minimoog Model D manages to pull it off. As one of the first non-modular synthesizers, the Minimoog Model D is highly intuitive and requires very little knowledge to use. The model D boasts contouring circuits and three separate, completely original oscillators, one of which can be used as an LFO. Although the Model D was reissued, the '70s Minimoog Model D hasn't depreciated in value, desirability, or style.
Watch me bring that sound back to life!🎹🕺"

TTSH Mini Meanie Arp2600 (Clone) - Its a Monster!
video upload by Andy Whitmore
"TTSH Mini Meanie Arp 2600 Clone Analog Synthesizer
This is one of the very few examples of a Synth today being built as it was in the 1970s - authentic analog technology.
The TTSH Mini Meanie Arp 2600 clone was released in 2015 by The Human Comparator.
The synth is designed to be built at home – although a lot of synth enthusiasts have them built by a Synth tech – which considering how complicated it is & how many soldering points there are – is probably safer.
The original Arp 2600 came out in the early 1970s to compete with Moog – amongst others.
Its goal was to take synthesis out of the lab & into the hands of the musicians.
The TTSH or Two Thousand Six Hundred Mini Meanie is a Modern version of the Original Arp 2600 at about 73% of the original size making it the "mini meanie".In terms of electronics the TTSH is pretty much identical to the early 70s grey faced model 2600P, which includes the built-in speakers (although these speakers are way better than the original speakers). Additionally it has awesome orange LED sliders as standard. (nerdaudio.com)This particular TTSH v3 was built by Margo in November 2023 at her workshop in North London.
Extras include
Midi
Osc sync mod – sync osc 3 to either osc
Dc removal mod
Dc off set – gets massive thump open vca
Envelope range mode. Adsr - otherwise the release has no sustain (as per the original 2600) – now the sustain goes up to triple time.
Small mod on reverb amp – less hummy
Clock mod allows you to pole sync – clock sample & hold
This Mini Meanie cost £3000.
In this video – I explore the synth & show you some of the sounds it is capable of.
Thanks for watching."

Digital Controllers & Synths, MOOG's Geert Bevin | Superbooth 2024
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"Join Geert Bevin and me as we discuss the current state of expression for both digital and analog instruments. Geert is a multi-instrumentalist and master of gestural control for synthesizers with decades of experience designing many different types of controllers.
I set out to hear what Geert had to say about Digital Instruments vs Analog Instruments, and the discussion kept coming back to controllers. I soon realized that Geert really cares about music and that performers being able to have an expressive experience with their instruments is more important to him than whether or not the tone is generated digitally or not. In this information-packed discussion, we'll cover topics such as: why digital struggles with attack transients, the difference between generating a sound digitally and processing a sound digitally, digital distortion vs analog distortion, how to create scarcity in the digital realm, and how humans compensate for different instruments.
Geert Bevin worked with Eigenlabs developing the Eigenharp, collaborated with Roger Linn by writing firmware for the LinnStrument, worked on the Ultraleap - Leap Motion Controller that detects your hand position with infrared cameras to convert conductor-like gestures to shape sound, and recently designed a Bluetooth MIDI controller for the Apple Watch. He's currently creating experiences on software synths for Moog Music that go beyond the sound itself, exploring MPE as a common language to connect musicians with expressive controllers, painstakingly working to make digital knob turns feel as good as analog knob turns, and determining the future of both analog and digital electronic instruments.
