"Akai AX-80 in really excellent condition, and working perfectly. All buttons are very responsive, screen is working flawlessly. This is the glossy wooden side version, which is apparently the older one. You can see from the pictures what kind of shape this is in - only minor nicks around the sides and a few scuffs. The data knob and other parts look brand new! I'm pretty sure I was the second owner and the last owner clearly had it in storage for years. Still has the inspection sticker on it! Definitely one of the coolest looking synthesizers with the fluorescent bar graphs!"

Tempi x Rings ∆ Ambient Eurorack Modular Synthesizer
Salvatore Córdova
Published on Aug 14, 2017
"An ambient meditation using the Make Noise Tempi to shift through timing configurations. A trick I like to use is to mix two of the outputs on Tempi to create simple patterns. The shifting pattern is sent to the 4MS DLD's ping input and TR1 on the Ornament and Crime (in turing machine mode, sending cv to Rings). The Bastl CV Trinity is on modulation duty. Some outputs are LFO's, some are recorded automation sweeps. Mutable Instruments Clouds provides extra texture and reverb."

Concept Desktop Roland D-05 Linear Synthesizer - New Boutique?

Wouldn't that be cool. If Roland could accurately emulate the D-50 in a desktop, or boutique format, DACs and all, I think I might actually bite.

Roland TR-77 voiceboard in 19" with midi trigger interface
Stereoping
Published on Aug 15, 2017
"More or less entertaining demo- and testsong with slideshow for a project in summer 2017: putting the voiceboard of a broken Roland TR-77 drumbox into a new 19" housing and supplying a midi trigger interface to overcome the boring preset rhythms. The board offers 13 pure analogue sounds, mainly generated with big coils in stunningly simple schematics: Bassdrum, Snaredrum, Hihat, Cymbal, Maracas, Tambourine, Low Conga, Low & High Bongo, Rimshot, Cowbell, Clave and Guiro. Guiro is more kind of sound effect producing a permanent chirping sound in 2 different frequencies. It's fully supported by the interface: 2 different midinotes switch Guiro on/off and high/low.
I also found a very simple way to misuse the onboard VCA for an accent feature. The VCA normally mutes the TR-77 output when stopped to prevent getting all the noises from the clockgenerators to the output. (The Accent feature is just explained, not demoed in the video.)
All drumsounds in the song come from the miditriggered TR-77 voiceboard running through a TAPCO 4400 stereo spring reverb. Further equipment: Juno 6 + Line6 Echopark, Korg Polysix + Roland DEP5, Kawai K4 and - at the end of the vid - a lovely diletantic live synth solo on the minikorg-700 through the realtime tweaked Sparta Delay.
The beginning of the song is quite cheesy but stay tuned, around 3:20 it turnes into a nice 80ies style. Hope you like it :-) Wanne see more midified drumboxes? Then please drop a comment. I still got many of them flying around, waiting to be brought back to studiolife by getting some midi-trigger support.
I also wrote an article about this project on my site: https://www.stereoping.com/tr-77-info..."

Modular synthesizer vs LesPaul goldtop (braids, rings, ears, peaks, maths, morphagene)
ollilaboratories
Published on Aug 14, 2017
"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/ and https://www.patreon.com/theBURG
Lately I have been experimenting with external equipment processed through my modular, it is turning out to be way more fun that i initially anticipated. :) on this one i have a les paul goldtop copy exciting the Mutable instrument rings.. providing very interesting results.
It is a very simple patch technically, Mutable instrument ears gets a signal from the Guitar which has a pre-driven distorted sound processed in the Line6 FX100 ( on the floor, not visible )... clean overdrive with no other FX. However I am controlling the volume of the guitar using a swell pedal on the same.
The signal then goes from ears into the MI rings, to excite the resonator, rings in turn has 1v/Oct sent to it on scale E and D minor in a pretty random fashion, but simple enough to play melodies on. The rings is then modulated by a could LFOs for some movement.
I am also splitting the ears output to a separate path, that goes into the morphagene for some sound on sound treatment that plays the guitar back in reverse with some granular treatments.
Techincally i have two styles of the sound which I am switching between by just controlling the output signals.
Drone sound is a simple 3xsaw that goes into the ripples first, whcih has a slow LFO adjusting the cutoff, then it passes into the uVCF which has a triggered envelope in the maths controlling the filter controlled randomly by the 2hp turing machine. So whenever the ripples is opening up, you can hear the uVCF bubbling away.
MI peaks is doing the drums, controlled by the beatstep pro.
FX on the drone is Keeley caverns, FX on the guitar signal path is EQD space spiral and transmisser.
On top of it all i am also playing a melody on the KORG volca for some moody ambience, treated by particle reverb algorithm in the ms-70 CDR FX.
If you become a burgonaut patron, you can see a video how this track was made + more goodies and extras from the BURG vault of secrets.
I hope you will enjoy it!!

4ms Stereo Triggered Sampler (STS) Granular Scrubbing
4mspedals
Published on Aug 14, 2017
"This video shows how the STS can scrub through a sample by using a granular effect. Setting Length very short and sweeping the Start Position achieves this. The playback time of a sample can be changed without altering the pitch, and depending on CV skew, the file can be played both forward, and back.
Using an LFO into Length CV reduces the buzzing that comes from repeating a short 'grain' (minimum 8ms on the STS)."

Using the MI Rings and Clouds with Z-DSP Halls of Valhalla and a pair of Turing Machines to make the intro portion. I added in a single voice from the 5U large format modular and a voice from the JV-1080. The tuning scales were controlled by the Q171 and Q172 Quantizer modules from Synthesizers.com. Published on Aug 13, 2017
"No post-processing or editing. Audio-only version of all MNSS patches can be found at https://soundcloud.com/caspar-hesselager
Overall patch notes:
Maths sum output is used as an envelope going to Optomix. Maths channels 1 and 2 are triggered by the Tempi acting as a clock divider to the incoming clock from Wogglebug. One Tempi channel (set to a relatively slow division) is patched back into Tempi mod input to shift the channels around to creating rhythmic variations. Pressure points is used to create four different playable notes for the DPO oscillator A, and Phonogene contains a sample of five different notes from an OP-1 with each their own individual splice and various parameters are being modulated by the Wogglebug.
René fires a few gates from the X Gate out going to the Strike input of DPO oscillator B. These strikes are heard later on in the patch when their respective locations in the grid become accessible."
