"These rare units were amongst the earliest pedals made by the Roland Corporation in Japan in the mid seventies. It's a great-sounding pedal - thick fuzzed-up swirly phasing effects - the speed ramps up or down between the fast and slow settings (using the footswitch on the right) just like a Leslie speaker. Pure Larry Graham, very Hendrix. Famously-used by the Isley Brothers on 'Summer Breeze'. Lots of different tonal options - this is an awesome pedal."

Grove Audio GMS709a Dual DADSR Envelope Generator with Multiple Modes

"The GMS709a dual DADSR envelope generator, in addition to the normal ADSR controls adds a delay setting prior to the start of the envelope. The delay time interval can range from 1 millisecond to 10 seconds. Other panel controls can select an exponential envelope or a linear envelope with either positive or negative direction. The operating modes are Normal, Gated and Loop. In Loop mode, by adjusting the delay, attack and decay controls, the envelope generator will generate a series of envelopes with varying frequency.

The gate input connector also includes a trigger input on the ring connection so that a trigger source can restart the Attack/Decay phase of the envelope while the gate signal remains active. There is also a front panel gate pushbutton to trigger the envelope for each channel."

Future Retro Releases the Zillion and Swynx

"Austin, TX, May 27 2014—Future Retro is proud to announce the release of two new products, the Zillion and Swynx.

The Zillion is a single track algorithmic MIDI sequencer based on the principles of the Triadex Muse. While the Muse used counters and a shift register to generate more than a million musical melodies, the Zillion expands on these ideas to add more features and functionality, providing a zillion possibilities for you to discover.

There are 16 operating modes including: Playback, Tempo, Swing, Direction, Loop, Transpose, Scale, Scale Program, Melody, Rhythm, Velocity, Theme, Shift Register, MIDI OUT, MIDI IN, and Sync.

Many unique features not found in other sequencers.

The Zillion provides the ability to store all parameter settings of where you last were. You can also reset parameters to typical Triadex Muse settings as a quick way of starting new adventures.

This product comes with a universal power supply and can be used anywhere in the world.

Each product is hand made in the USA, has a list price of $300, and is currently shipping.

For more information on the Zillion please visit:

7 x Modules, currently set-up as:

KICK
SNARE
RIM (SNARE)
TOM 1
TOM 2
TOM 3
TOM 4
(Plus of course the Power Supply/Headphone Module)

Each channel has 4 kits. With ‘Pitch’, ‘Bend’ ‘Decay’, ‘Treble’, ‘Bass’ and ‘Level’ options.

The ddrrum has been fully tested, all works well except the kick module which seems to work well at one sitting, yet plays up on others. I suspect it might be an easy fix for someone in the know?

In addition, the great thing about these modules, is that sounds are on EPROM chips. So if you’re after some very specific sounds, there are quite a few ‘bods’ out there who would be willing to help you out and set you up!

I’d say current kits are very ‘ddrum’ with others reminiscent of Simmons SDS-V SDS 7."

BEMI Buchla Music Easel Self Generating EG Timbre

Published on May 27, 2014 gus green·8 videos

"This video provides a demonstration of how one could use the Envelope Generator on the new Music Easel as a self generating variable waveshape modulator to affect any parameter. However, in this case I show it affecting the Timbre offset of the Complex Oscillator. I have the waveshape set to triangle and the timbre set to 0 which yields a sine wave. The Timbre offset that is being modulated affects the harmonic structure of the Complex Osc. vastly. The Preset Voltage source on the 218 is varying the pitch. And I used a touch of the built-in Spring Reverb."

Water Song

Published on May 27, 2014 nedavine·39 videos

"I wish this track had vocals! Anyhow, this is heavy sample manipulation from the OT. A simple guitar riff and a couple of samples from an old Japanese story book LP and my good the bad and the ugly Japanese edition. The A4 is doing the arp bass and the modular is playing the lead with healthy reverb form both the A4 and the OT.

The modular patch is very simple. It's tri/sine shaped out of the makenoise STO with function controlling the VCA of the ripples. Tides is modulating the shape very slightly. A simple patch but with the reverb just sounds lush to me."

Driving the Spaceship - Drones and LFOs

Published on May 26, 2014 kv3x·17 videos

Build-up starts at :41.

"So I snuck the spaceship out of the garage the other night. Once I got it started, wow, what a ride! Cruising around, carrying on, warp speed, zipping past planets, shooting space rocks, running through the gears, making noise.

Well, it's all fun and games until something goes wrong. There you are, stalled out, broken down, in some dark corner of a far away galaxy. Come on, start, come ooonn...! Oh, yeah, you can be sure I will hear about this one. I'll probably be grounded for-ev-eer!

Synthrotek Chaos Nand (DIY), CV modulated by a Doepfer A-143-4 (and the triangle Sum out into the Sag of the Nand, too), mixed with output from a Pittsburgh Modular VILFO. The square wave Sum out was run to the 1V/Oct input of Oscillator 1 of the Make Noise DPO. The Osc 1 triangle output was sent to the same Analogue Solutions MX-61.

The positive out of the MX-61 was fed into the Erica Polivoks filter (another DIY) modulated by the A-145 sine wave into CV2. The 145 also pinged the A-101-2 LPG. Further, the LFO sine out of the Intellijel Rubicon was input into CV1 of the Common input on the 143.

The final Polivoks low pass output was through the O'Tool, and into the Synthrotek EKO (another easy DIY). The Rate of the EKO was controlled by the LFO sine output of the Intellijel Dixie II.

And some knob wiggling.

Recorded in one take with a Roland R-26.

In other, more simple words, it's just a bunch of nonsense and noise."
