"Boasting no less than 58 endless rotaries for vital synthesis parameters, this front panel lends the term 'generously appointed' new meaning.

Q Series synths leverage a remarkably flexible voicing section with up to five oscillators and two multimode filters per voice to deliver that peerless Waldorf sound.

The Q Plus even offers 16 real analog filters. Sumo-sized strings, ethereal pads, blistering lead sounds, bone-rattling bottom end, bizarre experimental soundscapes, coruscating arpeggio clusters – anything goes with the Q, and in up to 100 voices.

There are up to 100 voices offering up to 5 oscillators including wavetable generators, 3 LFOs, 4 envelopes and 2 filters with a sophisticated routing method and all filter types that you expect from a Waldorf synthesizer. Furthermore, the Q offers unique Comb filter types in two flavours. This enables the Q not only to create polyphonic Chorus or Flanger effects but previously unheard athmos or pluck sounds with great life.

On the Q Plus, up to 16 voices can be routed through the analog low pass filters. If wanted, two analog filters can be used simultaneously per voice, resulting in a maximum filter slope of 48 dB.

To top things off, the Waldorf Q has a very powerful arpeggiator and an even more powerful step sequencer. With 58 endless rotaries, the Waldorf Q easily doubles the number of controls of other synths."

"Excellent condition. All voices buttons sliders work.
After touch works, but not amazing. I usually turn it off and control it from another keyboard if I want aftertouch. Some keys produce more aftertouch than others etc...known issue and it was never great to begin with.

OLED display installed. Sounds incredible, I just have to downsize, trying to buy a house.
Comes with a spare brand new joystick that I sourced from japan. No, I won't sell that separately. : )"

Kilpatrick Audio Carbon Live Jam 1

Published on Feb 12, 2017 Jae Ryan

"First jam with the Kilpatrick Audio Carbon. It's sequencing the Prophet 6 (arpeggio), OB-6 (hi-pass bass) and the Model D (melodic arpeggio) and sending clock to the TR-8 but drums are sequenced from the TR-8! I haven't figured out nearly all this machine can do yet and this doesn't take advantage of the bias tracks or song mode. It's just a simple repeating sequence and hopefully in the next jam i'll explore the scenes function more deeply. A transposed version of the sequence at some point would have made it much better!

I forgot to arm recording on the Juno so what you hear when I play it is strictly just the wet signal of it hitting the Strymons. It sounded ok that way and I was much to lazy to re-do! The Strymon pedals were the ONLY effects used and they were not used sparingly.

If anyone has any questions about Carbon or Suggestions/Tips if you're a user that would be fantastic! Otherwise, thanks for listening and send me some links to stuff if you think I'd dig it!"

"This one is in beautiful cosmetic condition and working 100%. It has just been serviced and with some restoration. It's likely the nicest Rhodes Chroma for sale anywhere. It is ready to be played and needs nothing! As the title says, this one has the CPU Plus (CC+ Midi upgrade) In addition, it also has a new power supply (SPSU) by Luca Sfregola. It will come with the original pedal, the midi box, and a newly foamed road case made for this unit when it was originally purchased."

Jazzmaster Clouds

Published on Feb 12, 2017 Nick Jackson

"Here's some guitar improvisation through the Mutable Instruments Clouds.

I am playing a Fender Jazzmaster straight into my Pittsburgh Modular In/Out module, which is amplifying and sending the signal out in the 1/8" modular format to the Mutable Instruments Ripples filter. The filter is open all the way and thus not really affecting the sound much, but I suppose it just made me feel more accomplished to patch it up anyway, lol.

From Ripples the signal goes into Clouds, which has the pitch control dialed all the way up, to achieve an octave up effect. I have my UokiToki 4lfo plus MI Tides lfo modulating the Freeze, Position, Size, Density, and Texture of Clouds to keep the effect dynamic. It ends up sounding like a shimmer reverb/delay effect, making the dry guitar signal sound like it's enshrouded in a 'cloud' of magical fairies sprinkling pixie dust everywhere (I mean, right?)..

From there we patch back into the In/Out so that I can send a 1/4" signal out to my pedalboard, upon which I have engaged a Strymon El Capistan delay and Strymon Blue Sky reverb.

Out from the pedals into my interface and computer, where I add a bit of very light compression, mostly for gain and limiting purposes. I do apologize for the few clips, I really had to gain-up the guitar signal to get it to speak with the modules, and thus I had to be very careful with the dynamics of my playing. You can hear how hot the signal is when you hear the pick scraping the strings.

I really enjoy mixing the realms of guitar and synth. Modular isn't just for techy synth nerds after all!

Thank you very much for tuning in."

Moog Prodigy 336A Analog Monophonic Synthesizer SN 2975

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The Prodigy was an entry-level monosynth from Moog, which has since become a very popular and widely used Bass-synth in techno and electronic music. It was designed as an affordable dual-oscillator synth. It was, however, designed without any help from Bob Moog himself. That didn't stop the Prodigy from becoming one of the legendary analog synths!

Its simple yet effective design employs two voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) with saw, triangle and pulse waveforms. There's also a genuine Moog 24dB / octave lowpass filter, A/D/S envelope generator, and LFO with square or triangle waveforms and routing to the VCF, VCO or both. Synth also includes Portamento, Pitch and Mod wheels.

I have been hanging on to this synth for a friend for over 10 years and we have finally decided to pass it on to someone that will put it to some use in a studio or at gigs. First this synth has a few defects but luckily they are all cosmetic or easily fixed. The issues are listed as follows:

1. The front wooden frame has a piece missing on the right.

2. The right-most key on the keyboard is missing it's right support so the key tilts to the left. The key still works perfectly fine but the action is not as clean as the other 31 keys.

3. The mixer knob for oscillator 1 is missing. This can pretty easily be replaced.

4. The contour knob for the filter is broken. The broken knob will be included and can be glued back on or replaced easily.

5. The wood glue that sticks the metal top plate to the side plates could use replacing. The unit is sturdy due to all working machine screws on bottom of unit but for taking out for gigs I would probably spend a few dollars to restore the wood glue on the side plates. Very minor restoration."

WALTER GIERS - ELECTRONIC ART

Published on Feb 7, 2017 Telekom Electronic Beats

"Visual art and electronic music regularly intertwines and with DJs and live acts like Moderat, Richie Hawtin and Dubfire to name a few, continuing to push the envelope in this area, this connection is getting deeper. Telekom Electronic Beats TV looked into this relationship and stumbled upon the work of visual and electronic art pioneer, inventor, visionary and unsung hero Walter Giers, who sadly passed away in 2016. Travelling to Schwäbisch Gmünd we uncovered some of the life and work of this late, great artist and learned where some of today’s visual artists are taking their cues.

The Last Sunrise

Published on Feb 12, 2017 kpsiegel

"This is my first video done in the newly rebuilt studio. I am dressed in a suit in this one because I just got back from dinner with my wife for her birthday and we managed to drink a lot thanks to some very generous friends of ours. It seemed like a good idea to grab the camera and just jam out with a bunch of synths.

Everything was recorded live off my X32 mixer. Drum channel had compression using the onboard compressor and all the reverb/delay on the synths was from an Eventide H3000 D/SE outboard send with a custom patch from Italo Di Angelis. Audio recorded at 48K/24 bit into my RME Fireface UFX. No post-processing at all. Hey, live is live!

Synths in the video:

MFB Dominion One
GRP A4 - played with the Axiom 61 controller
Macbeth Elements - played with the Axiom controller. Filter A used
Oberheim Two Voice Pro
Behringer Deepmind 12 - Doing arpeggio
Minimoog Model D reissue
Dave Smith Instruments OB-6
Waldorf XTk
Waldorf Q+ - That is the background pad using the sequencer
Schmidt 8 voice poly
John Bowen Solaris
Roland TR-808 for the drums

The lighting was red because I had the colored studio lights set to red. Just seemed like the right feel at the time. It causes graininess in the video image but I didn't care particularly."

Ultra Rare 1974 MOOG SYNTHESIZER "MOOG SORCERY WITH ROGER POWELL" NEWSLETTER

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND forty-two year old Moog Synthesizer artifact. This mentions Roger Powell's work with Weather Report, the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble and Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals but makes no mention of Todd Rundgren's Utopia, a band Roger joined in late 1973, dating this document to early 1974. One two-sided page approximately 8 and 1/2 inches by 12 inches. Has been carefully stored in a smoke-free and pet-free environment for over forty years. Two minor slight horizontal creases, one at the top, the other in the middle, but has been stored flat for many years. See pictures. Text has been intentionally blurred in the photographs. VERY RARE. PRICED TO SELL."
