"Jason from Instruo takes us through new modules, existing modules, retrofit black panels and a few things you might have seen around but not much of as they've been building custom orders and short hand made runs for a while. The range of oscillators is fantastic with the triple VCO, single saw core with softer folder, triangle core with linear FM, sub and more unique waveforms and the new mega analogue playground Cs-L that looks like a fantastic pushing of the boundaries set by west coast dual complex oscillators. The modules I have from Instruo are fantastic, I'll have full demo videos with those soon but enjoy this run down for now and get in with Instruo if you're after anything. http://www.instruo.media/modules/

Luftrum 18 - Omnisphere 2 Presets by Arksun & Luftrum

Published on May 7, 2018 Luftrum1

"Arksun and Luftrum have joined synth forces to bring you 128 beautifully crafted presets for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2.

With over a year in the making, the two sound designers have aimed to create a library with less textures and soundscapes and focus more on playable presets that sit well in a mix from modern, cinematic synth keys to retro leads over layered ambient arpeggios, plucked timbres and fragile pads - sprinkled with filmscore elements and sequences.

The diversity of the presets make them widely useful across several genres whether you produce synthwave, compose music for films, make electronica, pop or ambient. All presets are sorted in official Spectrasonics categories, assigned performance controls and leaving a few dB headroom at max velocity and polyphony.

Luftrum 18 is a must-have toolbox of sparkling fresh and dynamic new sounds, but don’t just take our word for it - go ahead and watch the walkthrough, listen to the audio demos and judge for yourself!

Joysticks add multi-dimensional control. Use one to control pitch, noise and vibrato and use the second joystick to edit the low-pass and hi-pass voltage controlled filters! There is also an "Effect" section which is for Vibrato, Portamento, Sample and Hold, Noise, Key Hold, Multiple Trigger and Ring Modulator (each with it's own rotary control to vary it's sound). THOR Wins MODEL D minimoog app Clone Wars? │ What is going on? - haQ attaQ vlog

Published on May 8, 2018 Jakob Haq

Funny intro. Comparison video below. Skip to it if you want to give it a go first.

"Does Propellerhead Thor sound more MOOG than MOOG Model D? Recently I published a video in where I was comparing Arturia's iMiNi, a minimoog emulation clone app to Model D which is MOOG's own minimoog emulation app. Before starting the comparison I asked viewers to take part in a poll and see if they could spot a Moog from a non-moog. That tests included Propellerheads Thor as a non-moog-clone reference. Well, votes has been counted and seems like Thor was the most Moog out of them all...well at least most of us thought so before the actual comparisons started...so maybe Im being a tad hyperbolic?

Moog Model D is a synthesizer app that emulates the Minimoog. It's available for both iPad and iPhone with audio extension unit support ( AUv3 )."

MOOG Model D app vs ARTURIA iMini │ Can you hear it? - haQ attaQ 281

Published on Apr 12, 2018 Jakob Haq

"Does the Arturia iMini Minimoog clone sound like Moog Model D? Do you think you can spot the difference in sound? Well, I made my Oscilloscope work hard for this one and so all you have to do now is look, listen and judge. I even threw in Propellerhead Thor into the mix as base of reference sine it's not trying to be a minimoog clone. Get ready for some oscilloscope madness."

Propellarhead: Make Drum Patterns with Drum Sequencer

Published on May 8, 2018 Propellerhead

"To learn more and try Drum Sequencer for FREE:
https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-e...

Drum Sequencer is a Player Rack Extension that can be added to any instrument device in Reason. With its set of powerful-yet-intuitive programming tools you’ll be knocking out drum beats faster than ever. With features such as repeats, probability and per-channel time resolution, the creative potential is endless! And the best of all - it adds fun to drum programming. Loads of fun!

The ability to set individual speed and step count for each channel means you can go for polyrhythmic mayhem or simply create patterns that don’t sound repetitive after one play through. Unless that’s what you are after of course.

Use Drum Sequencer the way that suits your creative flow best: to sequence all the drums for your project or as a blazingly fast starting point. If you wish you can dump your patterns to Reason’s main sequencer so you can finish your work there."

birdkids CROW Intelligence - Announcement Teaseer

Published on May 8, 2018 birdkids

Previous posts from SUPERBOOTH.

"CROW Intelligence by birdkids is a Generative Hardware Interface for modular setups with an integrated, cross platform, node based, patch editor.

Perform.
CROW Intelligence is a hands-on, assignable, high-precision Generative Interface for modular setups (52hp) and external MIDI devices.
Sixteen endless rotary encoders with multicolor LEDs and four contextual toggle buttons allow for tactile feedback. A bright, no-nonsense LCD Display provides visual feedback for the hardware-controlled, software-assigned control parameters and their corresponding values.
At the core of the hardware is a powerful, ARM-architecture processor running a standalone real time operating system. 16-bit precision ADC/DAC networks provide plenty of scaleable CV and binary I/O for any modular setup.
The CROW Intelligence is a teamplayer: external class-compliant MIDI and MPE devices can be hosted directly and used as multi-timbral, expressive inputs.
All controls are at your fingertips. Intuitive and tactile. Let CROW Intelligence adapt to your workflow and your idea! Focus on the performance.

Control.
CROW Intelligence comes with a built-in server running a node based patch editor (titled “birdnest”). The patch editor can be accessed directly from a browser of your choice on a device of your choice (PC/MAC, iOS, Android etc..).
A patch can be parametrically built from scratch and instantly saved to internal memory for later recall. Of course any patch can be recalled standalone on the device directly. Create at your convenience, control smoothly and surely.
On a blank patch canvas simply start by drag-and-dropping from a multitude of generative sources (called “Functions”), apply any mathematical and logical operations (called “Operators”) then route to a node or output of your choice.
Of course any number of parameters and variables can be assigned to an encoder and/or toggle button on the tactile Interface and labeled accordingly for clear identification on the LCD Display.
Start simple, get as complex as you like. Save and recall any patch instantaneously. Let CROW Intelligence do the math.

Feel.
The principal motivation at birdkids is to enable the Artist and the Arts.
Ultimately we see us as enabling those who have the spark, those who go the extra mile for something remarkable - aspiring to witness a miracle, those who dare to dream and in turn inspire us to dream. It’s about simplifying the process of capturing THE MOMENT. Achieving full potential is not a magic formula, it requires the right environment, the right mindset and the right tools - and our role is to provide those tools.
With that in mind our goal was to develop the centerpiece, the brain of your performance setup. And in turn to declutter the working environment.
CROW Intelligence will provide all the generative modulation and parametric control needed for virtually any setup. Just B.Y.O sound-sources, we’ve got the rest covered!"
