Sounds from Superbooth 2026: Mordax Siren

video upload by Perfect Circuit

Mordax at Perfect Circuit

"Siren from Mordax and Anonymous Developer is a multi-oscillator drone generator module that delivers complex and compelling tones in a compact package. Outfitted with finger-friendly faders and optimized for performance, Siren offers macro controls which simplify the task of wrangling its massive set of sound generators. Twenty-one oscillators and twenty-three LFOs provide a rich landscape of waves to mix and mangle. Adjust pitch, waveform shape, and amplitude via manual control or CV, and enjoy the evolving textures Siren creates.

Siren is built on a digital core which prioritizes responsiveness and immediacy in addressing its deep sound processing capabilities. Digital artifacts can be welcomed in with open arms at the far ends of Siren's parametric range, inviting sizzling timbral interventions from aliasing and quantization. CV modulation has similarly embraced its digital soul, with no filtering applied for immediate connection and response to incoming signals. Tonalities are organized in whole-number, just intonation ratios, with every voice tightly harmonized with its fundamental pitch, producing a lovely and resonant tonal structure which often diverges from the typical and equal-tempered. Whether you're adding texture and movement in the background of a patch or diving deep into a well of uncanny drone, Siren from Mordax is sure to call you nearer with every patching session.

Siren Features

Digital drone oscillator tuned in just intonation

21 VCOs and 23 LFOs provide an ultra-rich sound engine to manipulate

Streamlined macro controls optimized for intuitive performance

Waveforms not anti-aliased to embrace digital artifacts

CV inputs unfiltered for unique responsiveness and immediacy

Collaborative design with Anonymous Developer

Overwhelmed with SUPERBOOTH Posts?

If so, here are a few tips:

1. The News label will get you to the first post on new gear.

2. Use the Search box on the top right of the site to search for specific gear. For example Ziggy.

3. The brand label at the bottom of posts will filter all posts in order by a given brand. For example Polyend.

As for filtering out SUPERBOOTH posts, unfortunately there is no such filter. "-SUPERBOOTH" doesn't filter them out. You'll have to scroll down the page, and click next until you are caught up. But don't worry, the SUPERBOOTH rush usually only lasts for a few days. And remember, every single post here goes up by hand.

Note: all SUPERBOOTH videos from supporting members and banner sponsors go up as a thank you for supporting the site.

I also try to post all manufacturer videos as a record of synth history in the making.

Sounds from Superbooth 2026: Ferry Island Modular

video upload by Perfect Circuit

Ferry Island Modular at Perfect Circuit

"Undertow from Ferry Island Modular is a two-dimensional wavetable VCO/LFO matrix for complex, spatial modulation, providing a powerful central nervous system for any modular system. With a 5 x 3 CV matrix, instead of a single VCO/LFO waveform, you get fifteen simultaneous outputs, each a unique position between two wavetable oscillators. Morph waveform and frequency across the horizontal axis with the mod generator across the vertical axis, taking you from clean to chaotic. No longer do you need to patch together disparate modulation sources in the hopes they can work together, the Undertow makes that a reality with so little effort it feels like cheating. Only for a moment though, as you start to unpeel the sonic onion of your modular system's potential with the Ferry Island Undertow as your sharpened steel.

Undertow Features

Morphing modulation matrix
15 bipolar CV outputs with LEDs
Two wavetable LFOs with wave, frequency, and bank control morphing along the X axis
Mod generator with selectable type shapes the Y axis from clean to turbulent
Clock inputs control left and right LFO frequency
EOC outputs
CV control with attenuation on wave and frequency
5 wavetable banks, more via firmware updates"

Osmose CE lleva la EXPRESIVIDAD del Osmose a tus plugins

video upload by Hispasonic

GS Music Bree6 on the desk.

Sequential Prophet 5 - Synth Plugins still can’t do this?

video upload by Tenalock Audio

"There's something about the Sequential Prophet-5 that feels alive. The slight movement in the oscillators, the warmth in the chords, the way even simple patches seem to carry emotion without needing much processing.

Plugins have come so far and modern analog synthesizers have gone backwards without so much of their own character as they used to have.

I spent some time exploring softer pads, worn-out bass tones, drifting analog textures and a few more cinematic sounds in this session. Some patches lean into that classic late-70s / early-80s character, while others feel surprisingly modern.

It's easy to understand why the Prophet-5 became such an important synthesizer. A lot of newer synths can sound bigger or cleaner, but this has a character that sits differently in a mix.

Headphones recommended for this one."

Freqport - FT1-EMU Plugin | SUPERBOOTH 26

video upload by Bonedo Synthesizers

"For the first time in history, FreqTube FT1 lets you combine the awe-inspiring tone of real tube saturation with the convenience of digital connectivity in an easy to use, portable solution that will take your productions to the next level.

While analog processors are highly coveted, they often require elaborate setups that complicate your workflow, making it hard to strike while your creative iron is hot. FreqTube solves this problem by giving you full control over its four true-analog vacuum tubes via a simple USB connection. You’ll never again have to choose between convenience and quality.

The FT1 delivers real analog drive and color with all the convenience of a VST. Saturation, heat, drive, harmonics, distortion… whatever you want to call it, the FreqTube FT1 adds true-analog valve tone and color to your digital productions via just a simple USB connection.

Process any sound you like via the FreqTube’s four vacuum tubes and eight multimode hardware filters and – control it all via the, included, proprietary VST interface.

Hook up the FreqTube to your computer and load the control VST into your DAW, and you’ve got instant, recallable, low latency command over a broad palette of analog tones from subtle to savage… all with the ease-of-use you would expect from a digital plugin!

Because FT1 uses two sets of two tubes, you get two gain stages with full attenuation per channel for the ultimate in tone shaping. You can even process two stereo signals simultaneously, or up to four mono signals.

The FreqTube gives you hands-on control via its eight control knobs and bright, responsive color display. Of course, you can also use the included VST to control (and automate) all knob parameters. Once you have a sound you like, store it as a pre-set for instant recall.

FreqTube FT1 is not a pedestrian distortion box. It’s a color box with a broad palette of tonal options suitable for creative musicians, demanding engineers, and world-class producers."

Ziggy is a desktop Buchla that has all the flexibility of a modular with no patching required – Demo

video upload by MusicRadar Tech

"Buchla’s Ziggy monosynth aims to bring the brand’s singular style of West Coast synthesis to a wider audience, both by dropping the price – at $999, Ziggy is a fifth of the price of the company’s Music Easel – and repackaging the sound engine in a non-modular, self-contained desktop instrument that’s intended to be more modern and accessible than its previous designs.

The format may have changed, but Ziggy still has the digitally-controlled analogue architecture of a classic Buchla: a complex oscillator with wavefolding, a modulation oscillator for FM and AM, and a low-pass gate in place of a conventional filter and VCA, inviting the kind of unconventional sound design that has earned the brand a place in the hearts of those looking for an experimental alternative to the traditional East Coast approach. What makes Ziggy different, though, are additions like browser-managed patch storage, digital effects, and extensive connectivity: alongside CV inputs for pitch, gate and modulation, you get an external audio input and 5-pin MIDI and USB-C connections, which allow for the kind of external control via the KeyStep that you can see here.

It’s fair to say that most music-makers won’t have had the chance to experiment with a Buchla before, and with Ziggy, the company is hoping to change that. While it’s clearly more approachable than a Music Easel or a Skylab, designing sounds with Ziggy will still take some getting used to, as we found out over at Buchla’s booth – but cycling through the instrument’s presets, which showcase the unique, often chaotic timbres that West Coast synthesis is known for, left us eager to dive deeper into the Buchla universe. Mission accomplished."

MCO - Tonesum

video upload by ALM TV

See the ALM MCO announcement post here.

"「 MCO ToneSum 」🍃 Soft ambient tones with the MCO (mkII)’s ToneSum additive synth voice, a distinct voice that can produce anything from bright, glassy sounds to woody plucks or eerie inharmonic sweeps.

The MCO is triggered by a ‘Ramp Up’ gate sequence from Pamela’s PRO Workout, producing spontaneous ‘off the grid’ plucks from the ‘Warm 1’ preset of the ToneSum voice. A vocal pad sample from the Squid is mixed in to complement the MCO. The ToneSum’s various parameters are adjusted to alter the levels and dispersion of twelve sine waves that combine to produce the final sound. The Notch parameters have a particularly strong effect on the overall sound, acting like a parametric EQ band. Here the notch frequency is modulated by LFO 2, producing a subtle sweeping motion in the mellow tones. Finally, the ratio is changed to only Odd frequency bands, producing a more hollow and woody tonality. The ToneSum is a versatile and distinct voice that can produce a range of physical and organic sounding tones."

Understanding the Mask1/EX Slurred mode. Augmented keyboard playing!

video upload by Kodamo

"Synthesizers always have been pretty mechanical: you control when a note starts, its velocity, and when it ends. It usually stops there, while a few repond to aftertouch or other controllers, but it is still not enough to provide real musical phrasing like a woodwind instrument could do for example.

That's why we created the Slurred mode. It is found in all our Mask-series synthesizers. Amongst other modes, this one lets you choose if you want to tie (slur) notes during playing. Small intervals of two semitones or lower that you play legato will be slurred, with an optional glide/portamento effect. Notes that are more spread apart or played detache will play normally.

It is pretty easy to add to your keyboard playing skills, and larger intervals can also be slurred by quickly playing notes inbetween.

Here we showcased the Slurred mode with the Mask1EX MK2 sound module connected to an Arturia MIDI keyboard. These advanced play modes are compatible with all keyboards, DAWs or sequencers, allowing for greater expressivity in electronic music."
