"This is the one Billy bought in 1977. He used it back in 2012 on the Ultravox "Brilliant" album so it is in good working order.
He used it on all the Ultravox gigs and recordings and the Visage recordings. He used his softer signature sound on Visage "Fade To Grey" and Ultravox "Vienna".
He also used this ARP while working with Tubeway Army/Gary Numan. Live and the recordings "Living Ornaments 79 ". Most notably using his strong, emotional signature sound for the " On Broadway " solo. It was used on the "Top of the Pops" theme when he played on Phil Lynotts solo album. This time with the ARP sequencer as well. A remixed instrumental version of the song " Yellow Pearl ".
This instrument has been heard very much! It is a part of music's Synthesiser History

Lets just get this straight.. John Carpenter is my top inspiration, I can easily say if it was not for him I would not be the person I am today. The inspiration he has given me through his music and movies has undeniably set its marks on everything creative i do. I might not be a master movie director, but the music part is something i keep very close to my heart.

One of my favourite Carpenter themes is from the Movie Christine, problem with this is that I really like the movie soundtrack better than The Splash band versions of the track.. however there are some elements in the splash band version that works... so after 33 years of thinking about it, I finally decided to merge the elements i like the most and make a cover version :)

This is completely freeform and live straight to 2-track with no multitracking involved. Also i take a lot of liberties interpreting the melodies and time signatures .. see it as my hommage to the master of horror music !

Gear used: Nord lead A1, Reface CP (intro section) + Bluesky and particle delay on the CP. Braids in the modular plays the main sequence which gets some modulation from the maths + tides + keeley caverns reverb and delay. 0-coast adds a bassline which is washed with reverb in the elektron A4.. the A4 itself adds the classic 4:4 bass notes.. main theme melody is played on the KORG monologue. Drums from the TR-8.. thats it :)

"Looking around the studio this week for inspiration I wanted to do something with both the TB-03 and TB-3 in it. While in some ways they cover the same territory (to the anger of a few people that purchased the TB-3 before Roland released the 03) the 3 has a much more diverse sound and effects engine (and a great little step sequencer you can use on other synths).

I used a sample from the Buchla on the OP-1 and the Elektron RYTM just helps keep things together.

To add interest, I had nothing synched to each other, so while the BPM was set to 113 on everything It came down to hitting the start button at the correct time to keep everything moving togeather (the midi lead between the 3 and the RYTM was not set to Sync).

I'm going to take wee break from youtube for a month. I want to get my latest Album finished and I'm just not finding time and energy to get it into a fix mix and master. I might pop up something randomly but the Sunday Videos will be on hold for 4 weeks. Feel free to message me here or on the social platforms if you have any questions between then and now."

"In 1984 My dear friend and musical collaborator the great Saxophonist Michael Brecker asked me if I wanted to buy his Mini Moog. he was getting a new instrument to play electronics out of and the Moog wouldn't work..I bought it..It had a magic sound..Fat and warm.Every Moog was abit different.this was perfection.in 1986 I got a Roland interface to Midi it so I could use it with my Linn 9000 Drum machine and sequencer.I was Working with great producers and this Moog made it onto some amazing albums..Artists Like Miles Davis,Luther Vandross,Chaka Kahn,Whitney Houston,David Sanborn,Roberta Flack..When you hear the synth bass that is my mini Moog. In 1990 I was making the Album Power of Love By Luther Vandross in LA at A&M studios and I was getting a new rack built..I decided to go to Studio Electronics and get the Mini Moog Rack Mounted..I tested it before hand to make sure that my prized oscillator boards would not be replaced with other boards.It came back perfect. Over the years I have used it on many of my productions and it has been on Grammy and Platinum albums..This instrument rocked..I am now in a different direction and I do not use it anymore so It's time to move it on..It is a great piece of History and if you have the money you can have it..I have no problem hanging onto it but there are several other pieces I want to get and this will help me get there."

Built by Roman and calibrated for 1/volt per octave so it's compatible with the Eurorack pitch standard.

Works perfectly and sounds incredible.

This is the sound generator part of the Buchla Music Easel.
The rev 1 clones do not have active card slots.

There is a very minor bend in the metal just above the period slider. It does not affect the functionality, and could easily be pushed back into shape.

Module is mounted in a very rudimentary box."

"One of the three sections in the Random*Source Serge Wave Multipliers module is a classic “West Coast” wavefolder with a warm, well-rounded tone. In this movie I demonstrate manual sweeping, enveloping, controlling from a mod wheel for wind-type overblowing effects, and running through a Moog Mother-32’s filter, and layering a VCO from an Expert Sleepers Disting through the wavefolder with the Moog’s own oscillator. It’s also a good introduction to wavefolding for those new to West Coast synthesis techniques.

Rheyne - Sequenced Jam #34 - "DFAM Jam" (Moog Drummer From Another Mother)

"First video with the Moog "Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM)" from Moogfest 2017. I assembled the module in the Engineer Workshop, led by Steve Dunnington who designed it. All notes are triggered by the Moog and Make Noise hardware in the rack.

The DFAM is solo'd at the beginning and end of the video from a state change on the Make Noise Tempi, which I controlled using Lemur on my phone which was taped to the camera. This was sent as a MIDI message from Lemur to an iConnectMIDI 4, and then to one of the Mother-32 modules where it was converted to CV, which was sent to the Tempi's state change CV input.

The module has much more versatility than what's heard and displayed here. More coming soon."

"The FM Ogre is an expanded implementation of a Chowning FM Operator. It defaults to operate on a sine wave, but the sine can be thru-zero FMed or PMed (phase modulated) from 0 through both positive and negative frequencies and phase spaces. The feedback control allows self-modulation without patchcords. It obeys both 1V/octave and linear FM. Thru-zero authority is roughly 10 KHz for TZFM and roughly 16pi (8 full rotations of phase) for TZPM with the default software
In VCO mode the module will do roughly 2 Hz to roughly 30 KHz. LFO mode goes from roughly 1 cycle per 10 minutes to 30 Hz (i.e. the LFO switch goes 10 octaves down). The FM and PM inputs are bipolar from -5 to +5 volts; the Feedback input is null at 0 volts but recognizes both + and - voltages. Sampled input is at "high level" - 10V p/p, DC coupled.

The default waveform can be overridden (by the "Sample" switch) to allow through-zero FM and PM of any input signal including acoustic instruments or human voices; the "SYNC" input allows freezing of the input sample for pitch-shifted and phase modulated '"stutter" and "scrollback" effects. SYNC IN freezes the write pointer in the buffer, so short pulses of +5 on SYNC IN can assemble a granular timbre.

The LoFi switch engages a realtime bitcrusher that requantizes to 3, 4, 5, 6, .... 65535 discrete output levels. As bitcrushing uses the phase mod jack and knob, phase modulation is not available during bitcrushing (but TZFM and realtime sampling are).

The three indicator LEDs indicate Heartbeat (output > 0 volts), Negative phase, and Negative Frequency.

The module uses a DSPIC microprocessor, has better-than-CD-quality dual 16 bit DACs operated at ~90 KHz

The module is 8HP wide, and roughly 30mm deep. it draws approximately 120mA on +12V and 10mA on -12V. Comes with power bus cable and M3 mounting screws. Fully calibrated to track accurately over 6 octaves (which is per the designers spec)."

"Short clips from my phone from the last ten months or so. I have built all the modules my self so straight from schematics I have found from the internet webs and some of my own design. All panels designed by me made from laser cut or cnc-cut ply. Some are just me trying out new modules in some I am just jamming with them. Nothing too serious. Touché ships with Lié, its companion software. Lié is a host of plug-ins and comes with tailor-made sounds and configurations for a selection of synthesisers, as well as tools to make your own hardware and software presets.

All of Lié’s factory presets were made in partnership with UVI Falcon, and are ready to be played within UVI Workstation, included in Lié’s package."
