"This is my latest live setup for jamming - a Volca Beats, a Korg Volca Sample, a Volca Bass and a Volca Keys. Everything is connected to a Behringer Xenyx 1002B Mixer for mixing and send/return effect with a Behringer Echo Machine (with a tape delay simulation).

I used the pan function of the Korg Volca Sample to get two seperated outputs, one with sample sounds and one with the drums. The Volca Keys is hooked to a Ammoon Pockrock - a small and cheap guitar effect.

The MIDI controller is used to control parameters of the Volca Sample and mostly track volumen. I used a Patchblock with MIDI in and out to do some MIDI mapping."

I've been having a ton of fun with this new Korg Gadget Vancouver, which is a layering sample player. The sounds that the Gadget come with can be fun. Some are definitely better than others. Where i really see this player coming alive is through your own samples. You can do some really cool things with the small amount of manipulation given to you. In this video I take two samples from a few of our sample packs, one from the MemoryMoog vintage synth, and one from the Korg Poly61 and blend them together to make a powerful synth sound. Then i have a little fun jamming with my settings. Hope you enjoy! If you like the video please subscribe!"

I've had Tuesday for a while now and it's an amazing little module for getting things moving quickly. It's algorithm based sequencing with 4 default (hold the button until it flashes and you can change defaults etc, all very simple and the manual is well worth a read to set this up how you want quickly) scales, algorithms, rhythms (included triplets and quintuplets) and the main outputs always give you a 1v/oct pitch, gate, accent and stepped velocity. So you can get more expressive and complex patterns beyond a basic sequencer very easily. This will also go up to 32 steps per loop and it clocks and resets like an absolute trooper. Algorithms are controlled by an X and Y parameter both with CV and a " ! " control which is the density from a note per step to barely any notes. All CV-able and highly fun and interactive manually or under voltage control.

After going through bits of the manual and outlining features I chose to just dive into patches that show off a range of things it allows you to get to quickly with some nice audio patches for it to control."

Whatever the workflow, turning the dials and flicking the switches by hand of course changes the sound in realtime — often with radical results. Results of course can be radically different — depending on which of the two available synthBlocks are applied to any given sound signal.

Many might have heard of Mr Edward Hyde, an abominable alternative personality of Dr Henry Jekyll, a fictional character in Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde gothic novella first published in 1886. However, hearing Analogue Solutions’ Mr Hyde in the here and now is something else entirely! As announced, Mr Hyde was the first out of the starting blocks in its synthBlocks series as an analogue filter effects box bringing subtle to extreme filtering and modulation effects to the analogue processing production table. To further aid ease of use, Mr Hyde has quarter-inch input and output jacks on its rear, so can be connected straight to an audio interface or mixer without the need for adaptors. The topside of its distinctive blood-red panel features minijack sockets to patch with a semi-modular synth, such as Analogue Solutions’ relatively recently released Fusebox — an aptly-named, three-VCO (Voltage- Controlled Oscillator) true analogue monophonic synthesizer that favourably fuses the company’s characterful vintage sound with an advanced choice of modulation and melodic possibilities (in a beautifully-built box); ever-popular Eurorack small-format modular systems; or other modular systems.
