"Dieter has a very special place in the eurorack heart of Superbooth, and we were very happy to meet his new modules.
In the bunch was a 4-way attenuator and a mixer, but we began by looking at the new stereo multimode filter. Each of its two filters can be controlled simultaneously or individually, adding stereo atmosphere to incoming signals, and it's a lovely 12dB morphing state variable filter that glides between low-pass, notch and high pass in a very lovely way.

Firstly, we got to see the prototype of the Roland MC-202 firmware and display replacement. Those of us who have programmed the sequencer on the 202 know that it's, well, a little trying, but Tubbutec have given the 202 a new sequencer with more patterns, chains, and song mode, and there are even new envelopes, LFOs and arpeggiators, all working in harmony with the original 202 synth engine.
6m0d6 is based on the Roland TR-606 and indeed can sound like one, but is capable of a wide range of sounds outside the scope of the original.

Anyma Phi has oscillators and filters, just like other synths, but they are paired with physical modeling technology, allowing it to simulate acoustic sound sources, like strings , as well as resonating structures, like wood, glass, or metal. The front panel includes a matrix providing access to of the five stages of sound generation: Excite, Vibrate, Resonate, Global, and Animate.

Superbooth 22: Klavis - Grainity, Tweakers And Two Bits

"Eric at Klavis gave us a brief look at Tweakers, a modulation module, and Two Bits a dual logic module, but saved the new unit until last.
Grainity is a granular VCF, which is completely analogue, but slices and reassembles filtered elements according to the incoming audio. There are 13 filter modes which can track and repeatedly divide down the cycle of the incoming signal down until it sounds more like a sequence than grains of audio. It produces unusual, harmonic and non-harmonic effects and is a pretty unique concept.

"CS80 #2 just lost a voice yesterday. I 'scoped the triggering section on the KAS board and as I suspected, one of the associated 4050 IC's has gone bad. These IC's are original - nearly 50 years old - so they could do with changing anyway. The last problem I had on CS80 #2 was also a 4000 series IC on one of the the aftertouch boards. One went bad and I then changed them all... so I might as well change both of these while I'm at it. So, I thought I'd show you CS80's 1&3 as well while I had the camera out..."

"You are looking at a vintage ARP Odyssey REVII Synthesizer, Serial number 2813, manufactured in the late 1970's. If you are looking at this listing you know what it is, this is a real ARP Odyssey, NOT the modern Korg remake.
"This specific unit is in excellent shape and has very recently been professionally serviced, which includes new key bushings, calibration/tuning, slider lubrication & cleaning (this is VERY important with these units), PSU updating, capacitor replacement, as well as many other tweaks.
This specific unit plays beautifully and sounds absolutely magical. Cosmetically there are a few minor blemishes that I will describe as best as I can so there are no surprises:
(1) There are some very small white scuffs on the edge meeting the front and rear chassis.
(2) There are two missing screws on the left & right side: this was done on purpose; the threads had worn out so the screw-holes were repositioned to the outer chassis
(3) The jacks on the rear have some minor corrosion but the electrical contact has been tested and gives good continuity.
I have tested this unit over and over and it is rock solid. However given the age of the unit and overall sensitivity of older electronics I am unable to guarantee that at some point in time it may require re-servicing.
I will also include the RCA Cable + Adapter required to use the 'High' output in the rear of the unit. It is HIGHLY recommended that you use this output, it gives a much stronger & cleaner signal"

Three years have passed, and Ilja from Gamechanger has listened to feedback from the initial run of 450 Motorsynths, and returns with the MK2, improving upon the original designs.
The Motorsynth MK2 offers two separate motor voices with 4 electromotor oscillators each - both voices can operate in mono, unison or in four-note polyphonic mode. Both motor voices are equipped with a separate set of controls for adjusting volume, scale, waveshape, individual amp envelope engines for each musical note, as well as separate analogue multimode filters.

"It was great to see Corry Banks from Modbap Modular again as he performed with the Osiris, Per4mer and Transit modules from Modbap.
Per4mer is a quad performance effects eurorack module for live or studio use. There are 4 performance effects (Delay, Reverb, Glitch & Tape Stop) and 2 audio processing effects (color and compressor with side chain).
Osiris is a powerful, compact wavetable oscillator with waveshaping and phase modulation, and an independent sub-oscillator
Transit has two stereo lanes of audio each with its own input gain control, mute button and ducking input. The Ducking input on each channel operates like traditional side-chaining on a compressor where an input signal, CV or Trigger input (i.e. LFO, Clock, Gate) modulates the gain reduction of the audio.

"Matthijs started Cosmotronic 2 and a half years ago, and a pretty tumultuous time it's been, so it's great to finally see these modules at Superbooth.
Vortex is a complex oscillator, with 2 VCOs, each with their own unique signal path and filters. They can be cross-modulated and phase-shifted through-zero opening up a wide pallete of sound. We also get to see Delta-V - a dual function generator, Peradam, a side-chained distortion, Messor a stereo compressor, and Cosmix, a stereo mixer and dual band distortion with 4 mono channels, with panning and aux send (pre/post fader) and 2 stereo channels.

The delay one has at its heart a high quality, low noise analogue BBD and an integrated temperature-compensated, high-frequency voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) provides the ‘clock’ signal necessary to drive the delay line within 1 to 50 ms. It excels at Karplus-Strong duties, of which Joran gave a plucky demonstration. It is also great for classic chorus, flanger and echo effects using the dry/wet blend, feedback and damping parameters.

"Zeno from Keurslager Kurt showed us round his modules for the mini Ae format modular system.
All Zeno's modules are sold as through-hole kits. Boost, a transistor-based boost module to colour incoming signals nicely was followed by Five Steps, an arpeggiator. Zeno also let us have a peek at the prototype for the new 1/3 height Ae standard, a sub oscillator.

Buchla has teamed up with Tiptop Audio to resume the production of Don Buchla’s 200 series and convert it to Eurorack standards. These extremely rare pieces of equipment made almost half a century ago will once again be available, and this time to a wide audience. Each module will be produced separately as production schedules and component availability allows.

"Endorphin.es introduces three new modules: Ghost, Air Streamer and Running Order.
Andreas showed us the Ghost multi-fx processor developed in collaboration with Andrew Huang which is a processing unit without fixed structure allowing intuitive creation of astonishing and ephemeral timbres, from atmospheric rumbles to heavy or distorted textures. Based on the new generation ARM Cortex - M7 processor with 96 kHz 32 bit internal processing, It is extremely flexible and is inspired by Andrew's production techniques.
Running Order is a 2 track trigger sequencer and euclidean generator that can be a precise master clock or manipulate incoming clock signal and works great as a sub-sequencer/divider.
Finally there is the Airstreamer 4, a slimline version of the original A D and A S R looping function generator.

"Malte gave us our first glimpse of the NTS-2, and we were surprised to find that it's an oscilloscope!
The NTS-2 has 4 inputs, and up to 4 signals can be displayed on its bright, sharp screen at once, and it can even display X-Y oscilloscope art, if you wish. It gives us a function generator to generate control voltage from LFO to audio range. It also has a spectrum analyser mode and even has a tuner function. All this, and for a limited time, Korg have even thrown in a beautiful hardback edition of Patch and Tweak with Korg!

"We met Dan at the 4ms booth to find out about their new modules coming out this fall.
The Dual Shaped EnvVCA allows you to change the shape of the looping envelope without changing the timing, enabling true wave shaping. It lets you change the envelope response curves and you get two Rise/Fall sliders with three-way range switches for super fast (12ms) shapes to super slow (20 minute) modulations. The Dual EnvVCA is essentially the same, minus the wavehape slider. The MiniPEG is a miniature return of the original Pingable Envelope Generator and the The Shuffling Clock Multiplier (SCM) produces eight multiplied clock tempos from a single input clock.
