"This is a drive through Seoul in a taxi. He was going quite fast. I just got the camera so I don't know what I'm doing. He also took me on the scenic route. You can tell in the video. I didn't know. You can see his name and picture.
It was a morning in 2000 after going to the bars."

Luca Capozzi's DNA Inspired Music

"Using genetics to make music is very fun. During my researches I found that genetics algorithms are often used to create evolving patterns but, unfortunately, they do not sounds very musical. My approach is to program some Reaktor ensembles using simple yet musically effective genetic tricks to achive evolving rhythms and music patterns."

Vintage Gibson W2 Maestro Woodwind Guitar Synth Effect

via this auction
"The sounds that come out of this thing are absolutely insane. Most unique effects box I have heard. The beauty is you can plug any thing in to the 1/8" input jack. ANYTHING Woodwinds (what it was designed for) Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, and even drumbeats and mixes. Just some adjusting of the sensitivity knob. It applies the early synth like filters with organ bar style controls. Best described as an octaver/fuzz/synth with tremolo. Any musician or engineer or DJ could benefit from the unique tones to set them apart. Super rare only manufactured in 1967."

"This is a musical sequencer made out of lego. There's a row of eight spots to put legos, representing notes. Each color is a different pitch. As blue LEDs light up along the row, each note gets played. There's a slider to control the tempo, too.

The lego sequencer was constructed by Ben Judge using the amazing LogoChip ( http://www.wellesley.edu/Physics/Rber... ), a PIC microcontroller running an interpreter for the easy to use logo language."

circuit bent casio sk-1

via this auction
"circuit bent by spunky toofers

here are the modifications

1. 11 switches- controls freeze/holds, pitch related effects, bizarre filters, odd synthesis, self composing random melodies, rhythmic drum varations and much more. use alone or in combination.

2. 5 switches located on the far right which cuts out all 4 voices the instrument can play at once and the drum sound kill switch

3. one reset button

4. one vintage pilot glass lens with a bright blue led underneath

5. master pitch switch enable indicated in black (with this switch you can activate a extremely stable precision oscillator circuit which replaces the original clock signal for extremely stable pitch control)

6. one overall pitch knob (approximately 3 plus octave pitch range with knob)

7. lfo rate knob (lfo activated by pulling up on this knob. activates a lfo to modulate sounds from subtle to extreme)

8. lfo depth knob

9. lfo indicator light- indicates depth and rate activity. vintage new stock soft glow dialco green LED

10. light theremin switch

11. light theremin photo cell (light sensitive wafer that responds to light, shadow, and movements from hand, body, etc)

12. 2 gold dome body contacts (super expressive control of pitch via body contact

13. 16 point patch bay to make various connections in the patch bay via rca cables for experimenting new bends

14. master power switch on/off indicated in red

15. intuitive and through interface with as much spacing as possible for all controls

16. manual and bend diagram emailed to winning bidder

a few things i'd like to address that have been asked previously. regardless of who bent your instrument every bend on an sk-1 will most likely respond differently in different settings.. for example you will get different results in sample mode then in a preset.. and from one preset to another.. i have bent the instrument to be as stable as possible in all modes of the instruments.

the pitch and lfo is fine tuned. if a pitch is allowed to go too high it will glitch and will otherwise interrupt a good sound, loop, or bent function of the instrument. where this glitch occurs is different between sk-1's..the range therfore of the pitch control will sweep approximately up to 3 octaves down and approximately an octave or so above normal pitch of the note.

the right side of the instrument is the functional side of the instrument featuring mixing, reset and power indication... the casio is capable of 4 notes/sounds at a time along with drums.. the switches on this side allow you to mix on the fly or isolate certain sounds. this is especially useful when the instrument is locked in a particular bent function or loop and doesn't respond to key information. this way you can isolate a particular sound in the lock or loop and sample that particular sound or have only that sound running.

the patch bay is setup to be as stable as possible. these are not ins or outs to other devices.. they are meant to be patched within the patchbay only and will allow you to create new bends on your own.. since it's experimental it's not as stable for live use but great for studio work. with a little planning the patch bay can also be used in live use with good stability.. they will offer new bends not available on switches along with variations to bends that are located on the switches. for example if there is a filter on a switch it is most likely you will get a variation of the filter on the patch bay.. a vocoder like sound can shift in harmonics with a little experimentation on the patch bay.

and the sk-1 will function as normal provided that all bends are not activated.. it is highly recommended that you understand how the instrument works and experiment with bends in all modes to make the best and widest use of your instrument. there are plenty of good resources on the web with manuals to download.

Sequentix P3 midi analog step sequencer

via this auction
"The P3 Sequencer is an 8 track, hardware MIDI sequencer, with a user interface comprised of knobs, keys and LEDs. A sixteen character by two line PLED display provides confirmation of pattern data and access to advanced features and configuration options.

P3 allows real-time control of track mutes and simple pattern or pattern chain selection across multiple tracks, plus analogue-style editing of patterns. Each of its 384 patterns has independent values for note, velocity, tie, gate, length, gate delay, and a combination of up to four MIDI controllers, extra notes, or 'auxiliary events', per step.

P3's unique auxiliary events allow the creation of dynamically self-modifying patterns. They can grab values from other tracks, randomise steps, alter track and global settings, and much more. There are three modulation 'accumulators' per track, that can be used as LFOs, perform arpeggiation effects or enable complex pattern progressions.
Furthermore, you can assign front panel knobs to modify or mask these events in real-time, allowing you to create interactive patterns that change predictably as you adjust the knobs - varying in complexity, controlling levels of randomness, even 'morphing' from one pattern to another.

A Force-to-scale option provides preset and user-defined scales to keep everything in key (but defeat-able per pattern step if required), and a configurable 'change mode' allows patterns with different lengths and/or time-bases to free-run, or be synced to a global bar."

Technosaurus Cyclodon Analog Step Sequencer

via this auction

"16-STEP PROGRAM The Cyclodon is a 16-step sequencer that is almost Zen-like in its stark simplicity. To begin with, it has two rows of eight continuously variable potentiometers, as well as an that LED indicates which row is being played. Four switches allow you to set the number of steps used in the sequence. The Run/ Stop button controls the sequencer playback when the unit is in Auto mode; in Manual mode it moves you through the sequence one step a time-perfect for tuning each step. The Clock switch puts the sequencer under the control of either the internal clock or an external signal. Under internal control, you can set the speed of the sequence using the Tempo knob.

The Cyclodon sends control voltage and gate signals through minijacks on the unit's right side. The panel also includes a Roland-style 5-pin DIN sync jack so that you can run the Cyclodon from a drum machine, rhythm box, or MIDI-Sync24 converter.

ADDITION AND DIVISION One interesting feature of the Cyclodon is the inclusion of four Step Number switches, marked +8, +4, +2, and +1. These switches allow you to create sequences of 1 to 16 steps, and you can change the number of steps while the sequencer is running. Want to do an additive sequencing piece in which you increase the number of steps in the sequence one at a time? With the Cyclodon, you can.

You can also control the number of steps that are played for each external pulse via the Clock Divider setting. It can be set to play whole notes (one sequencer step for every four external beats), half notes (one step for every two beats), quarter notes (one step per beat), eighth notes (two steps per beat), and 16th notes (four steps per beat)."
