JHS Colour Box v2 Lovely Saturation [FX w/ Synthesizers #19] Demo

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025

Today I am exploring various synth and percussion elements through the JHS Colour Box v2 for that lovely vintage console saturation. Or downright savage noise when pushed harder, if that's your bag. A/B comparison effect on/bypass except the last section, got lost in the moment on that one. Tried my best to mind the levels, but now and then the volume is a bit inconsistent. Some normalization applied to remedy some of that, you understand. The EQ applied some nice touches, really helps pick out some sweet spots here and there. Recorded direct on iPhone via EPM6 mixer via Go:Mixer:Pro-X.

Behringer Working on PRO-16 - 16 Voice Prophet-5

via Behringer

"Designing the PRO-16: The 16-Voice Revolution

We are excited to share an update and achievement with you: the recreation of the iconic Prophet 5, but with a twist – our version boasts 16 voices and many new features that push the boundaries of what's possible in a synthesizer.

Recreating this synthesizer was no small feat. The engineering work involved is extraordinarily complex, requiring meticulous attention to detail and precision. Our team of engineers had to navigate the intricacies of integrating thousands of components to stay true to the original sound while adding modern capabilities.

One of the most challenging aspects of this project was the development of an 8-layer printed circuit board (PCB). For those unfamiliar, a PCB is essentially the backbone of any electronic device, housing all the components and ensuring they work together seamlessly. An 8-layer board means there are eight layers of circuitry stacked within a single board, allowing us to pack more functionality into a compact space. This complexity is necessary to manage the increased number of voices and new features while maintaining signal integrity and reducing noise.

The result is a synthesizer that not only honors the legacy of the original, but also enhances it with 16 voices, offering unparalleled polyphony and richness. This modern version includes:

- Multi-mode filters. Providing a wide range of tonal possibilities.

- 8-mode atrophy settings: Allowing for extensive modulation and sound-shaping capabilities.

- Poly aftertouch key bed: Delivering expressive and dynamic playability, making it a dream to play.

These advanced features make the new PRO-16 a powerhouse for today’s musicians, blending the classic sound with cutting-edge technology.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and can't wait for you to experience the new PRO-16."

A Zen-Bro romance told in resonant screams

video upload by Richard DeHove

"I have a bad habit of cranking the resonance on any machine I touch. It's so ingrained I did it at a friend's studio a little while back on an unfamiliar synth - and after a brief shriek decaying to an air-moving whomp I thanked the gods that the volume was set so low. I've used so many Polivoks-style filters in recent times I'm used to cranking the resonance with impunity.

Which brings me to the delicate love story between the Erica Synths Zen delay and the Behringer Pro-800. My trusty Rev2 is for sale and in its place I bought the Pro-800. Why trade down you may ask? Truth is I'm not a big poly player. The more polyphony you use the more simple the sound needs to be, in which case I wanted a simple yet knobby poly, and that's the Pro-800. Added bonus: no onboard effects. So when the Pro-800 arrived this week I teamed it with the Zen delay immediately.

So the romance is revealed: A brand new Pro-800 teamed with the Zen delay. The 800 is switched on for the first time, the resonance is cranked, the Zen's input drive and overdrive is engaged and almost immediately this gloriously jagged, gritty, and unpredictable darkness pours out.

Five minutes of first-time noodlings is a bit much I admit. And I was going to say all this over the top of the video but that felt wrong, like ads in a funeral service. So instead here it is. It is literally the first time I ever powered it on, to the point where I didn't even know how to save the sound or know whether I'm in tune, on the upside I pretty sure moved every knob and switch so if you want to replicate the sound, there it is.

Even so the 800's resonance is not fully cranked, I had to back off a little just to retain the ability to hold an actual melody.

Whether the 800 is good for anything else, who knows - I haven't got past this sound yet and I must look up how to save it. What's clear though is that the 800's filter teams beautifully with some heavy drive. I can feel more teamings in the air - perhaps another stereo 'Roger That' outing?

One final thing worth mentioning: the Zen delay cost significantly more than the Pro-800. Makes you wonder where your synth dollar is best spent.

Depeche Mode - Photographic / Some Bizzare Version (Cover by Synthfluencer)

video upload by Synthfluencer

"'This is Photographic!' - Depeche Mode fans know these words Dave Gahan yelled when playing live in Hammersmith Odeon in 1982. Actually, Photographic is a song from the very, very early days of Depeche Mode and might be created when they still called themselves 'Composition of Sound'. The 'Some Bizzare Version' is actually the first song they officialy released ever on a compilation named 'Some Bizzare Album'.

The song is one of the darker, harder DM songs and this version is even more raw and gritty. It is very reminiscent of the transitions from punk to wave, and the DIY aesthetic of punk in particular comes to the fore here with the hand-played synthesizers. Well before Depeche Mode redefined the genre of synth pop this early version of 'Photographic' is recorded on the gear they could afford back in the days: A Kawai S-100F, a Yamaha CS5, a Moog Prodigy and a Korg KR-55 drum machine. In my cover version I use two of the original synths, the Kawai and the Yamaha to recreate an authentic sound. The role of the Prodigy is taken over by a Behringer Model D, some support sounds by Pro-1 and Pro-800."

♫ Jamming With a Bunch of Synths ♫ ----- (79)

video upload by Bata

"This jam is a little weird. My phone was on low battery which made the video slightly glitchy. I was a bit distracted during this recording so it's maybe a bit more boring than usual. There is also a couple mysterious audio drop outs near the end of the video. I didn't notice these prior to uploading so it's possible something went wrong when combining the audio and video files or something.

Behringer Pro-800: 50 Arp Presets. Sound Demo. No Talking

video upload by Anton Anru

"'Arps Collection' is a soundset of 50 presets for Behringer Pro-800.
The patches cover a variety of Arp tones: mild and aggressive, deep and bright, soft and punchy, clean and noisy, modern and vintage.

Modwheel adds vibrato. You may use the arps with internal or external MIDI/USB clock. Play with division and swing parameters to change the arps' behavior.

The soundset is universal, the Arpeggios are suitable for all genres of electronic music, including Techno, House, Trance, Lounge, Downtempo, Funk, Disco, Pop, Acid, Hardcore, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Breakbeat, Trap, Electro, Ambient, Dubstep, EDM, Synth-Pop and others.

🎞 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/pro-...

Here is some technical information:

To load presets onto the device, please use the Synthtribe app, which is available on the official Behringer website.

The bank consists of 50 presets (00-49 slots are active, 50-99 are empty/init). You have the option to upload them all at once as a bank or load each preset individually, one by one.
Before loading new presets, I recommend backing up any slots on your synth that you are currently using.

Individual uploading is recommended if you already have presets stored in different banks (A, B, C, D). Uploading the entire bank will overwrite all existing presets in the selected bank. On the other hand, uploading presets individually offers more flexibility. You can save new presets without erasing the previous ones, and you can arrange them to suit your preferences.

Aerated Distortion: synth track criada com Moog Sub 37 e MPC One

video upload by Marcus Padrini

Tudo sequenciado no MPC One.

During the pandemic, I recorded some ideas with an alternative setup. Now, little by little, I'm transferring the tracks to the main setup. This is the case with the track Aerated Distortion, created from a Dave Smith Tetra preset, with a sequence from Arturia Keystep pro, strings from the Behringer VC340 and lead from the Moog Sub 37. Of all of them, only the Sub 37 remains in the setup.

Kraftwerk - Spacelab (1978) [Cover by Synthfluencer]

video upload by Synthfluencer

""Spacelab" was published by Kraftwerk in 1978 on their 7th studio album 'Die Mensch-Maschine' (The Man Machine). The album is one of Kraftwerk's best-known and most successful releases and is considered a milestone in pop history. Alongside the top hits 'Die Roboter' and 'Das Model', 'Spacelab' is also one of Kraftwerk's most iconic songs. The song received special attention when Kraftwerk performed it during their 2018 tour in Stuttgart together with German astronaut Alexander Gerst, who was live from the International Space Station (ISS).

With the cover, I stick to the original version as far as possible. I only added the radio announcements at the beginning and in the middle of the song. The musical structure is not very complicated: I play the lead voice with the Kawai S-100F synthesizer, which is about as old as the song. The prominent pad is played by the Behringer Pro-800. The strings I played with the Waldorf Streichfett. The bass arpeggio is a layered sound I created with the Behringer Model-D, the deep filter bass with the Behringer Neutron. The vocoder voices are self-recorded with the help of the Yamaha MODX. At the beginning you can hear the Behringer PRO-1.

In addition to my own recordings, I use audio, video and picture material from the NASA archive (https://images.nasa.gov/)."

Hoquetus modularis (featuring Disting EX)

video upload by Electrum Modular

"Exploring the wonderful world of hocketing, using Disting EX's 'Chord Engine'.
Recorded "live", adding only EQ + compression in Logic Pro.

Patch is described in the video. Just one clarification: as the sequencer spits out a new note every 2 bars, and the voices take it in turns to be the recipient of that new note, each voice changes note every 8 bars. As there are 7 notes in the sequence, this piece effectively repeats itself every 56 bars.

The piece excerpted in the first few seconds is “In saeculum breve,” a motet by an anonymous French composer, from the 13th-century manuscript, the Bamberg Codex. To avoid incurring the wrath of the copyright gods, I made my own version, inputting midi into Logic Pro and using brass instrument instead of voices, and adding convolution reverb with an impulse file recorded in a large church.

Moog Subharmonicon

Behringer Teases New POLYSOURCE & BX700 Synths

Details via Behringer

"So Marc, one of our mad product designers, asked me to show his PolySource draft to you, which is inspired by the Moog Source. He stands right behind me and said he won’t leave the office until I have posted it as he wants to read your feedback over the weekend.

Marc is actually a pretty cool guy who was deeply involved in the PRO-800. Before I press the send button he said 'tell the folks we could make this bad boy also with 8 analog voices, full patch memory and for the same price as the PRO-800.'

So what do you want to tell Marc? Go or no-go?"

"What a crazy Friday. Can you believe that after Marc left the office, our other obsessed product magician Miguel quietly tapped me on my shoulder and handed me this synth prototype.

He said 'you need to know that this synth is on no roadmap, no business plan and even Uli doesn’t know about it. I have designed this in my spare time and I just wanted to share this secretly with you.

It’s a DX7 on steroids as it has an authentic CS-80 analog filter, a drum machine built in and a few other cool features.'

I promised Miguel to keep it confidential so when I share this with you, make sure you don’t share it with anyone else, otherwise I’ll be in big trouble.

We promise to never make this synth as the world surely doesn’t need another DX7, or does it?"
