Stranger Things Intro Theme performed on EuroRack

Beatstep Pro's SEQ 1 Pitch out to DPO. DPO is outputting Saw on Osc 1 and Square on Osc 2, slightly detuned, both going to Ripples Filter and then into an MST Dual VCA Channel 2 and finally out to Reaktor. VCA's CV is controled by Maths Channel 4 which is being triggered by the Gate out from BeatStep Pro's SEQ1.

Bass
Beatstep Pro Drum Sequence is triggering René X-Gate to advance the sequence. René's Pitch out is going to both the Rubicon and z3000. Saw out from Rubicon and Saw out from z3000 slightly detuned, both going into a MST LP Filter and then to MST Dual VCA Channel 1 and finally out to Reaktor. VCA's CV is coming from Maths Channel 1 which is being triggered by the X-Gate out from René.

Reaktor was used to catch the audio. In retrospect, should have added some light chorus/vibrato."

via the seller: "For sale is my project E-Mu Emulator II. I purchased a few months back off the local ads hoping to refurbish and install an SD Card reader. Unfortunately I have not been able to save the money for the required parts. I need to sell to fund a security deposit for rent.

Overall I have diagnosed the following issues..

-No backlight on display. Works under light.
-Missing keys, and contact points on keybed.
-Floppy drives only say insert diskette and do not appear functional. I have two provided floppys that do not read when inserted.
-Few missing screws / stripped screw on bottom of case. (unit is still in great cosmetic shape)

Besides those three points the Emulator is in very clean condition. It was in a storage unit for most of it's life. I'm looking to get about $1200 for this sale to be worth it for me. I would rather not sell and finish the HxC mod but I wanted to make this post incase someone was interested."

Vintage Maestro Ring Modulator RM-1 by Oberheim with an ARP Omni 2 Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
Published on Sep 27, 2016 Synth Chaser

Currently listed for sale on Reverb, and on eBay.

"For sale is a working Maestro Ring Modulator, model RM-1 from the date codes on the ICs, it appears this unit was manufactured in 1971. Sliders are clean but not smooth. This unit has a single pedal input, ext. carrier and instrument inputs, oscillator output, and modulation output. You can bypass the modulation with a switch, and with another switch select between two ranges on the internal oscillator.

This is THE classic Ring Modulator effects pedal, and this is a super rare early model (I can't even find any photos online of the RM-1 with the single pedal input like this one). This is not the RM-1A or RM-1B model that are typically seen (note to ebay, I'm mentioning this not to "manipulate searches" but to point out the extreme rarity of this early revision). I made a short video to demonstrate that this is working, with an ARP Omni 2 of all things...."

ARP Omni 2 Playing Joy Division's "Decades" via MIDI

Published on Sep 28, 2016 Synth Chaser

SN 24730726 currently for sale on Reverb and on eBay.

"The most awesome ARP Omni 2 ever! With MIDI! This synthesizer has just been fully serviced by Synthchaser, the west coast's leading ARP specialist - recapped, new bushings, LED sliders, fully functional, calibrated, tuned and sounding great. This keyboard is the sound of Joy Division and is all over The Cars' "Moving In Stereo". It produces the lush Solina/String Ensemble sounds plus has a polyphonic synthesizer section with a voltage controlled filter, LFO, and ADSR. I've made a video to demonstrate this keyboard in action playing Joy Division's classic, "Decades" via MIDI

Video showing this keyboard in action:

Overall good condition for a nearly 40 year old synthesizer, with some cosmetic issues as visible in the photos (dent to back right corner of case, etc)

· Synthchaser MIDI Adapter - How rare is it to find an Omni equipped with MIDI? The Synthchaser MIDI Adapter has support for MIDI In and Through for the string & synth polyphonic voices only, and responds to note on & off requests.

· Synthchaser Precision LED slider upgrade. All 15 of the old original sliders have been replaced with new, smooth, high precision LED illuminated sliders. The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement.

· Synthchaser Capacitor Kit installed - 106 polarized capacitors in the synthesizer (not just the power supply) have been replaced to help provide stable operation for years to come.

· Keyboard rebuild - New key bushings installed, keys removed and washed, key contacts cleaned and adjusted

· Oscilloscope Calibration - Fully calibrated to factory spec under measurement by oscilloscope

The 4075 filter has not been modified and has the original capacitors and frequency response. This can be enhanced upon request by the buyer. There is also a possibility to customize the LED slider colors."

"This is a vintage Moog Taurus II synth with the bass pedals, cable and power adapter. The synth is in good working condition. The pedals are working as well but might need some cleaning or calibration as occasionally there are tracking issues - when some of the pedals are pressed, you hear some sort of a quick bending/portamento. I was mainly using the synth with an external CV step sequencer so it never bothered me. Other than that it works great, all the keys react smoothly. The power adapter is an aftermarket RadioShack adapter and not the original."

Modular Composition: Sequencing with TEMPI and MATHS

Published on Sep 28, 2016 MAKEN0ISE

"In the modular synth, a signal is raw voltage. Its identity as CV, audio, gate or clock has just as much to do with where it is patched to as where it comes from, and any signal can be patched to any input. For this reason and others, the modular synthesizer is particularly well-suited to generating not only new sounds, but new methods of composition."

White ARP Odyssey SN 28887 with CMS Mods

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This ARP Odyssey is, as you see, the first whiteface version** which is by far the most desirable. Having the legendary, extreme, and unique sounding 4023 filter. It has had at least a couple major servicings and highly desirable mods. First, from CMS who are FAR AND AWAY the leaders in working on these ARP systems. The CV/Gate mods were installed so that this can be controlled by other synths, and the External Audio Input so that other instruments can be run through the filter. The second major servicing and mod was performed by another very prominent tech in the vintage synth community. This mod I think is very unique among Odysseys that you will see. ARP has the duo-phonic feature that will assign the two oscillators to the highest and lowest note you play. Which is great. Sometimes, however, you want to treat it as a monosynth, and with your playing style it’s a little bit of a pain that it triggers the two notes. This switch disables the two-note tracking/assignment and lets it play as a true monosynth.

In both of these services, electronic rehab and tuning were done, and complete disassembly and cleaning of the sliders. It has had another tune/checkup done about a year ago, which included replacement of some of the sliders. The sliders move freely and are not stiff, but frankly you can hear a little scratch again on some of them. I am also going to claim that, after shipping, you should plan to tune it again. But other than that it is in excellent shape electronically. Cosmetically, it’s a solid 9 out of 10 if not 9.5, with a few marks that are tiny, small places the silkscreen is fading, etc.

Other functional aspects, the key action is good, as are the two-position switches. The octave selector is supposed to do +/- 0, 1, or 2 octaves up or down. The détente-ing is a little flaky so it really only does normal and one up, one down. HOWEVER, I am providing a NOS (NEW OLD STOCK) extra octave selector switch with this auction. It seems to work well flipping it with your fingers, but I can’t guarantee the result when you install it. Again, it has never been used!

Other extras include a plastic fitted see through dust cover, custom made for this Odyssey. This is awesome to have because you need a dust cover to keep the sliders from getting junk in them, yet in your studio you want the synths to be visible when you’re hanging out, not buried under opaque covers. Finally, the synth comes with a medium duty flight case."
