The novation summit is so fun to jam on…
video upload by Jan Tuitman
"I haven’t been recording this synth a lot, but rest assured, no week goes by without me playing at least one night on the #novationsummit , my biggest synth and also the one I love the most. When I have some serious time to invest I very often try to battle one of my grooveboxes because then it is composing time, trying to come op with a whole piece of music. But when I do not have that much time the Summit is a relieve, a happy place where you always can go and nothing will sound bad.
I maybe I can integrate the Summit more into workflows, use the super powers of the Summit more in productions, for example by sampling patches from it into groove boxes and use it over there, or by sequencing it. But I am perfectly happy with the fact that right now I am not at all doing that yet right now. Because it allows me to enjoy the Summit with my ears and with my fingers (my playing skills are very minimal but they are extending now I am having such a big keyboard in my living room). This is all very good for me learning real things about music, and putting it in every piece that I make would make the learning curve harder. So I go easy on my self. After all, music is a hobby for me."

Yamaha CS80 vs Arturia CS-80V vs Cherry Audio GX-80 – Ultimate Sound Comparison!
video upload by Andy Whitmore
"Yamaha CS80 vs. Modern Clones: Arturia CS-80V and Cherry GX-80 – Ultimate Sound Comparison!
Join me as I dive deep into the world of the iconic Yamaha CS80 and its modern VST emulations, the Arturia CS-80V and Cherry GX-80. The CS80 is a favorite of mine due to its intuitive design, unmatched keyboard action, and aftertouch. However, its rarity, size, and cost can make it less practical for everyday use.
In this video, I compare these legendary synths to see if the virtual versions can faithfully replicate the unique sound and feel of the real CS80. The video includes various sections such as:
Famous CS80 Riffs - Hear classics like Toto's "Africa," Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA," and George Benson's "In Your Eyes" played on all three synths.
Oscillator Breakdown - Detailed exploration of the individual oscillators.
Factory Presets - A look at the original CS80 and emulation presets.
Pitch Bend Slide Bar - A comparison of each synth's pitch bending capabilities.
Programming Bell Sounds - Learn how to craft bell sounds using sine waves and the CS80’s legendary ring modulator.
Raw Sound Analysis - Exclusive segments featuring dry, raw sounds without any effects.
Summary and Verdict - I conclude with a summary of which synth stands out, both as the ultimate synth and best plug-in version.

Locks 🔐 (Elektron Digitone + Rmx500 // Korg Minilogue Xd + Strymon Deco // ARP2600m + Eventide H90)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"The center piece of this jam is the Elektron Digitone (fed into the Pioneer RMX-500 effect) which is playing the DRUM part + some FM synth sequences (a lot of automation/p-locks and probability sequencing used here 😉) and sequencing with its 4 MIDI tracks, the bassline played by the Korg Arp 2600 M (through the Eventide H90).
The Korg Minilogue XD is being used in standalone mode here, sequencing and playing the CHORDS.
A few tricks featured here:
I used the 4 MIDI tracks of the Digitone to sequence the bassline on the ARP 2600 M. Thus each MIDI track is playing a different pattern, which makes it easy to switch between 4 patterns ;)
I used the ROLL effect of the RMX-500 to loop a part of the audio coming from the Digitone (which led to the four-on-the-floor part)
The Minilogue XD can only play one sequence per sound. I switched from the POLY mode (for the CHORD part) to the UNISON mode (for the LEAD part), giving the impression that 2 different sequences are being played consecutively."

HERE COMES THE SUN played on Sequential OB 6
video upload by OlTo
"When listening to older synth-featuring albums like Abbey Road, it becomes apparent, that the older the music the simpler the synth patches. And if you have a fine instrument like the OB6, it's sometimes best to just dial up a waveform with a tiny bit of modulation (or wobble from a Space Echo) and play your favourite tunes.
Here comes the sun is in the repertoire of my Band Apache Rizz and we've been working on this tune (which I don't think the Beatles would have ever been able to perform live, due to it's odd metrics) ;-)"

Clatters Machines Introduces EXP-FX, il Sole e la Luna (Sibilla expander)
video upload by Clatters Machines
"EXP-FX, Il Sole e la Luna (eg. The Sun and the Moon) is a 6HP expansion module for Sibilla, aiming to let you admire the same panorama under two different glows.
Depending on the Sibilla uploaded firmware, EXP-FX can either act as an actual Sibilla expander, giving you direct control on more Sibilla’s parameters, or can turn your module into and effect, allowing you to process your favourite oscillator the same way Sibilla processes its internal waveforms.
EXP (il Sole)
Expands your Sibilla by giving you more control on the internal AR envelope and filter resonant frequency.
FX (la Luna)
With configurable eurorack/line stereo inputs, turns your Sibilla into an intricate stereo pitch shifting delay effect. Split your incoming sound in two separate pitch shifted tracks whose stereophony is affected by LFOs movements, white noise, delay lines and sampled bits of audio."

Clatters Machines announces availability of EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) as Eurorack expander module for Sibilla stereo digital oscillator
SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO, ITALY: small town lovers of music and electronic instruments Clatters Machines is proud to announce availability of its EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) — latterly translated (into English) as the Sun and the Moon, marketed as a 6HP Eurorack expander module for its Sibilla stereo digital oscillator (that translates the beauty and harshness of a semi-barren mountain into a 10HP Eurorack module that sculpts sound with various saw and sine waves running through intricate delay networks altered by LFOs — Low Frequency Oscillators — and white noise to create constructive and destructive interferences, enabling ever-evolving soundscapes that can be both droning and/or melodic in nature) to allow anyone to use this majestic modular pairing in two different ways, depending on the uploaded firmware — as of November 15…
Same panorama under different glows. With wonderfully evocative words like those framing Clatters Machines’ concept of being able to see the same panorama — in this case, the mountain of Sibilla that lends its name to the small town lovers of music and electronic instruments’ much-loved Eurorack module — under different lights and shadows, EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) literally sounds interesting. Indeed, depending on the uploaded Sibilla firmware, it can either act as an actual Sibilla expander — enabling direct control over more of that module’s parameters — or a stereo pitch-shifting drone effect — enabling users to process an external oscillator in the same way that Sibilla processes its internal waveforms.
Digging deeper, the EXP firmware adds more control of Sibilla’s internal AR (Attack Release) envelope and filter resonant frequency. For instance, it is possible to transition from long release droning pads to crazy and noisy percussive sounds as a result of this.
The FX firmware, for its part, turns the Sibilla-plus-EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) modular pairing into an intricate stereo pitch-shifting drone effect, effectively splitting the incoming sound into two separate pitch-shifted tracks whose stereophony is affected by the movements of the LFOs, multiple instances of white noise, delay lines, and sampled bits of audio. Thanks to the configurable Eurorack/line stereo inputs, it is possible to process an external oscillator, instrument, or sample in the same way that Sibilla processes its internal waveforms — by creating an intricate network of pitch-shifted delay lines, freezing them, and looping them, thereby creating a complex architecture of resonant frequencies and pitch-shifted audio tracks moving through the stereophonic field, in other words.
'As an intricate and evolving drone machine, Sibilla has been a major inspiration for both us as musicians and also many customers — couldn’t be prouder of this.” So states Clatters Machines Co-founder, engineer, electronic designer Michelangelo Nasso, before delving into the enticing EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) backstory by way of ending with some wonderfully evocative words of his own: “As a result of product showcases at festivals and fairs where we chatted with musicians, friends, and customers, we started wondering how well-known oscillators and instruments would have sounded if processed in the same way that Sibilla does with its internal waveforms; we realised at the same time that Sibilla would not be complete without more control over basic elements such as its internal envelope, so we decided to combine two ideas for two new expander modules into a single unit — namely, EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna), a ‘dual’ expander that allows Sibilla to be used in two different ways... like looking at the same mountain under different tones and glows.'
EXP-FX (il Sole e la Luna) is available worldwide — with a choice of silver- or black-coloured aluminium front panels — from Clatters Machines’s growing global network of retailers (https://clattersmachines.com/retailers-3/) or directly via its online Store (https://clattersmachines.com/shop/) for €164.00 EUR (plus VAT, if applicable).

Exploring New Scales with Midicake ARP
video upload by midicake
"In this video, I'll take you through my process of building classical music using the Midicake ARP and explore the new scales coming in the v7 firmware update. I'll show how different scales can dramatically affect the mood and atmosphere of the music, starting with more upbeat and vibrant tones, then transitioning to a more relaxed, almost soporific sound by the end.
Through this hands-on demo, you'll get to see my thought process as I experiment with the ARP's capabilities and discover how the various scales can be leveraged to compose emotive, atmospheric pieces. Whether you're a seasoned ARP user or brand new to the instrument, I hope this video provides inspiration and insights to enhance your own music production. Grab a cup of tea, sit back, and enjoy the gentle, soothing soundscapes.
Ready to take your melodies to new modes and moods? Hit play and let's go!"

"This unit's electronics have been meticulously overhauled and important future-proofing measures were taken in an effort to significantly extend its life. This is time consuming and expensive skilled work that took more than 25 hours to complete, but this work's resulted in a Linndrum that works perfectly and should hopefully outlast all others.
In addition to any necessary repairs, here's a summary of the work done to this unit (I probably left something out):
Lots of capacitors replaced as a preventative measure
Power supply / battery board fully rebuilt
Installed new 10k trimpot for power PCB
Batteries replaced
Memory tested
All sliders and rotary pots cleaned
All switch pads removed, disassembled, cleaned and adjusted
Unit cleaned inside and out
34 molex terminals replaced
Replaced 10p molex x3
Cleaned fuse holder and fuse

Solar 42F Jam with Hydrasynth and Waldorf Iridium via External Input
video upload by Longstride
"This is not an amazing ambient music jam I'm afraid, this is just some guy, playing his Solar 42 for fun. I ran my Waldorf Iridium into the Solar via the External Input jack to try it out. The Waldorf was playing an arp sequence with the latch set so it was repeating. Then I played the Solar 42F with the external input coming through and I later overdubbed some Hydra-synth for a bit of variety. I'm not modular patch pro, very much still learning my way by experimentation."
11/14/24 Metasonix D-2000 + MFB SEQ-1 + Waveform LPG + CXM 1978
video upload by Cfpp0
"The Metasonix D-2000 has individual outputs for each drum voice, but it also has a mono output with an 'IT’S TORTURE' knob. When you use this mono output there is serial interaction between the voices, which is part of what makes this drum machine magical. But you also get power supply whine. I like it. For this patch the whine and squeal is gated by a passive Waveform LPG driven by Pamela’s New Workout, which is also clocking the MFB SEQ-1 playing back the trigger patterns. And reverb blended on the CXM 1978."
Bad Gear - That Teenage Engineering Thing

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Synth nerds shopping for gear will come across plenty of options that seem a little overpriced: generic raspberry pis in plastic enclosures, iconic instruments going for around 50% of the repair cost needed to keep them up and running for the next 5 years and the usual Reverb madness raising the blood pressure of GAS victims all around the globe.
Today we are going to talk about PO-33. While this 2018 lofi sampler, microscopic groovebox and indispensable salted caramel latte chaser is both affordable AND powerful, it might be part of Teenage Engineering’s most perfidious strategy to go EP-133 medieval on your wallet.

Ambient Jam // Cocoquantus // Norns // Organelle // Gen Loss // Tetrax // Cosmos // Peterlin
video upload by Lesjamusic
"The source of this track came through playing with the l_ll__l_ script on Norns: https://llllllll.co/t/l-ll-l/58123 - and layering in Cocoquantus, Organelle (playing Plaits), Tetrax and Cosmos. Chase Bliss Gen Loss and Peterlin add some crackle and hiss."

Dubby "this is the ultimate music tool" by Componental // DivKid Discussion Machina Bristronica 2024
video upload by DivKid
You might remember Dubby from this set of Machina Bristronica videos.
"Back at Superbooth I was pleasantly surprised to see a quadrophonic dub delay called Dubby, learning that it could work in quad, dual stereo, 4x mono or a whole range of flexible FX routings sounded great. Fast forward to Machina Bristronica for the DivKid Discussion (on the DivKid stage!) I had the pleasure of sitting down for a conversation and demo of Dubby with Rasmus from Componental. Here's that discussion.
Dubby is currently live on Kickstarter at the time of publishing with around a week to go. If you'd like to support it (it's well over funding, so it's happening already) here it is // https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/..."
"Dubby is a powerful, standalone device designed to simplify the creative process and put you in full control of your sound - whether you're just starting out or you're an experienced musician. With no computer needed, just plug-and-play.
Perfect for singers, producers, instrumentalists, and modular synth enthusiasts alike, Dubby fits seamlessly into your workflow. Its intuitive, hands-on controls make it fun to explore new sounds, from quadraphonic effects to custom synths. Whether you're jamming at home, recording in the studio, or performing live, Dubby gives you the freedom to personalise your music-making experience, allowing you to map and control every parameter your way.
And with Dubby’s open platform, you can even customise both the hardware and software, unlocking endless possibilities for creativity and exploration.
Immediate Immersion and Flow: Dubby works out of the box and is set up to be a fun and engaging music device, either as an audio effect, synthesizer, or music tool.
Endless Possibilities: Upload new audio effects and synthesisers directly from the Dubby App Store, accessible through a web browser, making Dubby a versatile addition to any setup.
Tactile Interface: Designed with musicians in mind, Dubby features an intuitive hardware interface with select controls for seamless interaction during live performances or studio sessions.
Fully Stand-Alone Functionality: Dubby can run advanced real-time audio algorithms, freeing you from the computer. Take your favourite effects, synths, and tools out of the box!
Quadrophonic Sound: Experience immersive, high-fidelity audio with Dubby's quadrophonic capabilities.
Customisable and Programmable: Tailor Dubby to your specific needs by swapping side panels to your liking. Choose between faders, buttons, and expression / footswitch jacks. With programming in popular languages like Max/MSP Gen~, Pure Data (coming), and C++, you can modify existing algorithms or create entirely new ones."
he calls it: delayf**ker - Power Glitch - Sonic State Demo at Machina Bristonica
video upload by Componental
"The delayf**ker is a performance effect that pushes digital echo to its limits, with real-time manipulations getting ‘stuck’ in the feedback loop for dynamic sound-on-sound edits. It delivers rich, glitchy audio textures, ranging from Karplus-Strong and micro-looping to traditional echo and chorus. With control over delay time, feedback, and buffer freezing, you can experiment on the edge of stability for unique sonic outputs. Despite its experimental nature, it's highly versatile, offering sounds from subtle to chaotic, for live or studio use."
