Gravitarium 2 - The first multiplayer particle visualizer

YouTube Uploaded by ststionion on Jun 19, 2011
Gravitarium2 - Robert Neagu - currently free

This one in via Silent Strike who composed the tracks for the app with a Clavia Nord Modular 1, Micron Alesis, Jomox Mbase, Reason 4 Propellerheads, M-audio Axiom 25, Elektron Drumachine (pic at the bottom of this post). The app does not allow you to manipulate sound, but I thought it was interesting to acknowledge some of the gear used to create the audio for this app. The Waldorf Blofeld and Yamaha AN200 pictured however were not used.

"Experience the magic in Gravitarium2! Go to http://www.gravitarium2.com/video/ (use the "App Support" button to jump right to the video).

Gravitarium 2 combines music, art and science in one relaxing experience. Use all your fingers to guide the star flow. You can create 10 different animations depending on the number of fingers touching the screen:

1 - Rocket, 2 - Sparkle, 3 - Energy flow, 4 - Atomic, 5 - 3D freeze, 6 - Circularium, 7 - Fish, 8 - Vortex, 9 - Lasers, 10 - Lightning.

Use different options to create spectacular drawings made of stars. You can load the "Drawing" preset from the "Options" screen.

You can even connect to random user (or a friend) and play together with the stars. You can always send a "Like" message to let the other player know you enjoy your connected game. There's a leaderboard available that lets you discover the best G2 players.

The soundtrack is amazing! 10 different tracks push you further away into a deep relaxation state. If you're connected to a remote user, you even share the same music ambiance.

Unleash your creativity and create unique masterpieces!

Features:

* Multitouch (upto 10 touch points in single mode, 20 in multiplayer mode)
* Thousands of particles animated at 60 frames per second
* Changing/manual colors
* Play/pause the animation
* Save snapshots to your Photo Library
* Original soundtrack (includes 10 relaxing tracks by Silent Strike)
* Multiple animation options (ex: speed, tail, size, opacity, etc.)
* Ability to save and load option presets
* Multiple play modes: default, drawing, tranquility and user defined
* Multiplayer over wifi/internet (auto-match or invite-a-friend)
* Ability to send "likes" and GameCenter friend requests
* Leaderboards: "like" count, overall time spent, overall time spent connected
* Syncronized options and soundtrack during multiplayer sessions

Note: Gravitarium 1 was the most downloaded entertainment app in may/june 2010 reaching the #2 spot in the TOP FREE section, after iBooks."

Live Improvisation with Moog Voyager OS, Nord Stage and Dave Smith Mopho

YouTube Uploaded by hyperdust7 on Jun 21, 2011

"Tonestepa on Minimoog and Hyperdust on Nord Stage and Mopho. Beats and a repeating bass note are on Cubase (Maschine & Mopho bass), but the rest of the noise is live. There is a CP-251 connected to the Old School Moog, so Tony is controlling 2 LFO's. One slowly oscillating the filter and the other affecting the pitch of Oscillator 2 with sync on. Nord Stage is providing a weird piano like sound, and the Dave Smith Mopho for the lead melody."

4ms VCA Matrix eurorack module

YouTube Uploaded by bigcitymusic on Jun 21, 2011
Big City Music on eBay (RSS)
"Here we are trying out the brand new 4ms VCA Matrix module. This module can do you so many things its hard to know where to start!

This patch is a fairly basic voltage router. Various LFO's, slow, fast, and pitch-tracking are coming in on the left, the row labeled inputs, A B C D. The outputs, 1 2 3 4, are routed to different CV inputs on modules in our sequencer patch.

Output 1 goes to a filter cutoff, output 2 to delay time, output 3 to an oscillator pitch input, and output 4 to another filter's cutoff. Then you can "play" your different routings! Slot 1C has a slow, squarewave LFO applied to it's control input, and you can see the light flash when the square goes high.

This is only one example of what the MatrixVCA can do. You could use it as a patch storage/recall device enabling you to make modular presets. You could send fixed voltages into the inputs, creating playable sequences, The MatrixVCA also passes audio like a normal VCA. This can allow you to make some really complex patches. Kinda' like a guitar pedalboard on steroids;) This is just the beginning.... This module is amazing!"

Free Weekly Ableton Live Rack #13: Korg Monotron Rack

YouTube Uploaded by AfroDjMac on Jun 21, 2011

"The Korg Monotron is a great little analog synth with a big, thick sound and amazing filter. However it is controlled not with keys, but a ribbon controller. I find it extremely difficult to play in pitch. So I've sampled it and racked it up in Ableton. Now notes are easy to hit, and there are also a few extra goodies not possible in the original. Follow along as I take you through it and download it yourself and enjoy!

**Non Live users: You can use the samples in your DAW of choice**

BEFACO BF-20 KORG MS-20 Filter Clone

"Introducing the BF 20V

Two weeks ago, at our workshop in Barcelona, we started assembling the first units of our latest module: a very faithful replica of the legendary LP/HP filter of the MS 20.

The most demanding part of the design was reproducing the Korg 35, a dedicated IC found at the heart of the original filter. To be able to clone the filter, we first had to clone the IC! It consists of a mini PCB, so small we had to use SMD components for the first time (the people that attended our workshop had a blast! ;-) )

The clone of the chip is 100% compatible with the original filter, so it can be used as a part for repairing real MS-20′s!"

Announcing The MF-108M Cluster Flux™

The official announcement:
"ANNOUNCING THE ALL NEW MF-108M CLUSTER FLUX™ ANALOG FX PROCESSOR

–The Ultimate Moogerfooger® for Flange, Chorus and Vibrato —
We are pleased to announce the release of the MF-108M Cluster Flux, the newest addition to the MoogerFooger line of analog effects. The Cluster Flux is an ultra-powerful and flexible, sound-sculpting tool for use live or in the studio.

Expansive functionality combined with warm, analog sound come from the state-of-the-art all-analog circuitry. Musical, flexible, playable, and durable, the Cluster Flux is capable of providing classic flanging, chorusing, and vibrato effects, but is also capable of a much wider range of modulated delay line effects than traditional stomp boxes in this class due to the wide range of the front panel controls, the multi-waveform LFO, as well as CV and MIDI Control.

The MF-108M Cluster Flux is more powerful than traditional chorus/flange effects offering musicians the added modulation of multiple LFO waveforms: Sine, Triangle, Square, Saw, Ramp and Random, to create many kinds of new modulated BBD Delay effects. MIDI IN allows control of Delay Time, Range, Feedback, Output Level, LFO Waveform, LFO Rate, LFO Amount and Mix. Additional features include:

· The ability to sync LFO modulation effects to MIDI Clock or Tap Tempo

· The ability to control Delay Time w/ MIDI Notes for “tuned” flanger comb-filter effects.

· CV control of Delay Time, LFO Rate, Feedback, LFO Amount, Mix

· Send/Return Insert for external processing of BBD signals.

· A second output configurable via DIP switches for different types of stereo outputs

· A Spillover mode allows for creation of interesting drones and other feedback effects.

· Control of Delay Time, Mix and Feedback in Chorus setting for extreme chorus effects

· Bi-polar feedback design creates Flanging effects w/ even or odd harmonic emphasis.

· Wide-ranging LFO Rate for very slow to audio rate modulation

· Input/Output Level controls for use w/ wide range of devices.

Availability and pricing: The Cluster Flux MF-108M will be available at Moog Dealers worldwide in Q3 2011 for a sell price of $599.00"

Thompson Twins 3 Octave Rosewood Orchestral Xylophone

For sale via Jackson:
"This instrument was custom built in the mid 80's for the Thompson Twins by an unknown source (probably someone at premier) and has been in storage since the band dismembered.

It was originally modified to be used as a live midi controller/trigger device but i have no way of testing if the contacts still work because they connect to a serial port (which must of connected to a rack mounted box that transformed the trigger signals into midi). The instrument is housed in its large (110 by 160cm) Flightcase.

the instrument as it is in great shape for its age and plays very nicely with only a few minor scratches on the wooden side slats. The rosewood keys are in excellent condition.

"100% analog drum sounds. RCA output. You can play/trigger drum sounds and its got built in "loops" w/ adjustable tempo. Your grandpa's drum machine. Extremely collectible and RARE!!!!! I am guessing the date is the early to mid 1970's. It measures roughly 4" tall x 7.5" wide x 9" deep."

via this auction

"The 16R is a rare analog drum machine with a built in bass synthesizer (often compared to a TB-303, though I think the MTI sounds more raw) and chord accompaniment. This unit has the memory expander, providing four times the number of stock rhythms. Check out some of the rhythm names--the odd translations and misspellings provide almost as much entertainment as the sounds that come from the box. As a drum machine, the MTI is nice and flexible; it has cancels and rolls and a volume mixer. Sounds very cool."
