Lemondance - eclo.re player | FR3SK77 - eclo.re player
video upload by BLINKSONIC°
"eclo.re player series - LEMONDANCE interactive EP embedded inside Reaktor 6 ensemble.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
This is here ! I am delighted to announce that 2 new releases have been just added to the eclo.re player collection.
This concept is around the idea of EPs encapsulated in app/patch more precisely a Reaktor 6 ensemble, with the synchronized input of a visual feedback, and the possibility to remix them in real time with various DSP effects.
After a deep revival trip in my own electronica IDM archive for the first batch - the « player series vol.01 » (released July 24), here the music shade is one of contrast with these two new audio objects which bring out 2 thematics :
LEMONDANCE_ep a funky electro pop sound delirium based on vintage synth colors and a cocktail of rumbling bass, all coated with a good helping of acid and second degree.
FR3SK77, kind of organic dreamtronica plunderphonic album, a cryptic tale at the crossroad of lullabies for kids and a soundtrack for insect life’s documentaries.
For those who haven't heard of the concept yet, here are 2 videos that demonstrate some aspects of those little « in the box » interactive AV shows.
I'm very excited to get your reactions, because from this rather minimalist concept, in the prism of a tool, I discovered radical ways to arrange a recording and generate textures or beats from it. The trip sometimes turns out to be as fun as a video game if you let yourself get caught up in it.
Note that the original player has been improved on these 2 new players, with the addition of functions such as a granular freeze effect that can be launched randomly by an internal modulation, but also and above all with the possibility of setting 6 "marker" points on the timeline of the song, this allowing you to navigate instantly and play parts on the fly.
Streaming is free on the site, and a packages are available for purchase, containing the original recordings, stems in high quality (.WAV & .MP3) and the interactive player compatible with REAKTOR 6 (.ens).

SN 01646 & 74313

"Digital Keyboards Inc. Synergy II+ synthesizer with MIDI and Kaypro II computer, original owner's manual and all other information about connecting and editing in PDF, all factory and Wendy Carlos sounds on board of the Kaypro, SD cartridge as an extra backup of the sound banks and to save your own sounds, sustain pedals and custom made hardcase available for sale. It's a complete system which you won't find anywhere else in the world at this moment.
Both the synthesizer and the Kaypro have been serviced. Dani Wilson (Hideaway Studios, UK) serviced the Kaypro computer and added two Gotek disk emulators pre-loaded with the SynHCS Host Editor and voice/cart library. The old power supply has been replaced by a modern SMPSU version. The synthesizer got a new psu too, has been recapped and the keyboard contacts were cleaned. The RS-232 SIA cable is also new. Both the service invoices are included as a proof of what's been done exactly. We didn't save money to bring this beauty set back to life.
The Synergy is a very much more powerful synth than many realize - having two complete sets of 16 stage loopable envelope generators per operator which morph between high and low velocity acting on 32 digital oscillators with a remarkable amount of fluid modulation control available all in 16-bit digital audio is just mind blowing for a design that came out of the mid 1970s.
If you want to go deep into the programming side of the synth you need the Kaypro II computer. The complex synth engine gives you the ability to build up sounds from the ground on. It's a joy to build rich pads and melancholic film music sounds. The new owner will receive a testing video with information how to edit sounds prior to the packing process.
Optically there are some signs of use, but the overall condition is very good. The black case of the synth has some scratches, small dents, some missing parts at the edges. The tolex has sings of use too. The upper plastic panel of the SD cartridge is missing and the cartridge itself is in used condition. The Kaypro has some small scratches on the metal case and keyboard. There is a custom made hardcase for the synth which has signs of use too. Please check all the photos and ask for more photos if something is not clear enough.
Both the units are set to 240v. The serial numbers are: 01646 (DK Synergy) and 74313 (Kaypro II)"

Envy Machine | Quad Function Generator | By RYK Modular
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"Quad function generator? Isn't it a four channel ADSR or LFO or S&H or CV recorder? Indeed it is. But it also provides 'ghost hand recording' on all channels and it's great for cross patching. Sure it's designed for the awesome ALGO and Vector Wave and they make brilliant combos. It's missing the 'end-of-whatever' trigger/gates to make it a true complex function generator but it can surely help to make weird sounds too.
A typical modular case is about 70% or more utilities, so the 12 HP Envy Machine could save you a lot of space and modules. However, it's a utility module so the real magic still needs to come from your VCO."

BAF 2025: Black Corporation Expander MK2
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Roman from Black Corporation who walked us through their latest innovations. First up was the Monolith*, a signal generator not created by *Black Corporation*, but developed by *Black Corporation team members. Roman explained that the Monolith allows you to generate presets, LFOs, arpeggiators, and MIDI CC. This versatile device outputs via USB host, TRS MIDI, or USB-C to computer, providing an easy way to enhance your hardware synths with additional oscillators, LFOs, and envelopes.
Then we got a look at the *Expander MK2*, which represents Roman's dream multi-effect processor. Featuring classic delay models including the Lexicon PCM42 and a BBD delay, the Expander MK2 incorporates two types of reverbs - including one developed in collaboration with Maris - as well as a spring reverb with digital pre-delay and a Tilt EQ. With a rich array of modulation options, including a ring modulator and OTA-based phasers, the Expander MK2 is a comprehensive solution for integrating multiple effects. It boasts extensive connectivity options and total recall via MIDI CC. The Expander MK2 is set to ship at the end of spring 2025 at a starting price of $5,000, with pre-orders available for this reduced price before an anticipated increase."

BAF 2025: Elektron Digitone 2
video upload by sonicstate
"We caught up with Ricky Tinez at the Elektron booth, who introduced us to the *Digitone 2*. This updated iteration has seen a significant boost in capabilities compared to its predecessor with an expansion from four to 16 tracks and voices, and the inclusion of multiple machine types. Notable additions include FM Drum, Wavetone, and Swarmer machines, advancing its sonic versatility. The Wavetone offers wavetables with smooth interpolation between its two oscillators.
Ricky demonstrated the intuitive page navigation that streamlines access to different settings and highlighted features like the morphing filter and separate noise generator with its envelope and filter. The FM Drum, a new addition, supports creative synthesis beyond conventional drum sounds, showing potential for melodic applications.
Users can also access deeper modulation, with three LFOs providing enhanced control."
BAF 2025: New Systems Instruments Discrete Map
video upload by sonicstate
"At BAF 2025 we met up with Evan at New Systems Instruments who introduced us to Discrete Map, their new sequencer concept. Discrete Map takes external signals which can be modified by the relative position of the sliders on the front panel to set amounts and timings of triggers, step lengths and more.
The sequencer also runs at audio rate or in one shot mode making its application very versatile. Discrete* Map* is due for release in March 2025."
BAF 2025: Tobinsky Instruments Harmonic Timing Generator
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Tom from Tobinsky, who presented the *Harmonic Timing Generator*. This innovative piece of gear creates harmonics of its basic signal, which can be utilized in either low frequency or audio modes. Tom demonstrated how the generator can control up to four tracks of a sequencer, showcasing its ability to maintain harmonic timing.
The generator features a master out section, along with selectable tracks, enabling complex modulation including ratcheting effects. The setup also incorporates a control panel with switches, allowing you to seamlessly connect and synchronize with other devices.
Furthermore, Tom highlighted its open architecture, which offers a scanner mixing function. This feature can transform waveforms into sine waves for mellow tones or pan signals for mixing. You can control it via CV inputs, offering a wide range of creative possibilities. The prototypes are in production, with an estimated price around $400.
More Info:
https://www.tobinski-audio.com/about"
The Harmonic Timing Generator is a versatile Eurorack module that blends advanced clock generation with harmonic waveform manipulation. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the Tobinski Sequencer and Interpolating Scanner, this module is an exceptional tool for rhythmic and tonal creativity in your modular system.
As a reference clock generator, the Harmonic Timing Generator produces a base frequency with analogue multipliers (x1 to x8) to generate complex timing signals. Three selectors provide manual or voltage-controlled frequency switching, offering flexibility for intricate sequencing patterns. An LFO mode enables slower clocking rates, ideal for driving sequencers or generating modulation sources.
When used with the Interpolating Scanner, the sawtooth outputs of the Harmonic Timing Generator are transformed into sine waves. This allows the module to function as a harmonic oscillator at audio rates or as a versatile modulation source in LFO mode. Its dual functionality ensures that it can adapt to a wide range of patching needs, from rhythm generation to rich harmonic exploration.
The Harmonic Timing Generator is a versatile and creative tool, offering rhythmic and harmonic possibilities that complement any modular synthesizer setup. Its integration with other Tobinski modules ensures a cohesive and expansive sonic palette.
BAF 2025: Buchla AUX Oscillator Card for Easel Series
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Nick from Buchla*, where he introduced us to the new *AUX Oscillator Card for the Easel series. This digital auxiliary oscillator card is designed to integrate with the 208 C revision of the Buchla 208 voice, featured on the modern and retro Easel editions, as well as the Easel Command.
The AUX Oscillator Card offers a host of features, including a CV multiplier for tenfold voltage utility, a random pulse input, and a noise generator. It allows for three-operator frequency modulation by supplying an additional oscillator. Nick explained that while it's a digital oscillator, the voltages interacting within the system remain analog. The card also supports a card doubler, enabling simultaneous use of the AUX Oscillator Card with other cards."
BAF 2025: Polyend Step Drum Machine
video upload by sonicstate
"At BAF 2025, Polyend introduced Step*, a stereo drum machine in pedal form. *Mitch from Polyend shared insights about this device, designed to facilitate quick and enjoyable beat-making while you play your instrument. The drum machine features a 16-step, 4-track sequencer and operates on a sample-based platform. It allows you to select from over 200 pre-loaded drum kits, with the ability to add and customize your own samples.
Control is made intuitive with a stomp switch, enabling effortless pattern changes and effects customization. You can utilize a tap tempo function for keeping in sync, and manage samples via USB and SD card connections. This pedal is particularly suitable for guitarists and synth players who desire dynamic rhythm accompaniment without interrupting their performance. The stereo playback and processing include panning, reverb, and delay effects. The pedal is now available for shipping at a cost of $499 USD/Euro."

"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Boaz from Arcana Instruments who introduced a groundbreaking MIDI interface designed to provide accessible music-making opportunities.
He shared the inspiring backstory of his student with cerebral palsy, whose determination to play music with her peers led to this innovation. The interface allows you to play chords with a simple press, strumming up and down rather than side-to-side, accommodating various mobility challenges. It uses Bluetooth for connectivity and is adaptable via interchangeable handles, enabling play through foot pedals or proximity sensors for head movements.
After noticing the limitations in traditional tools like iPads for music education, the interface was developed to support real musical growth. This tool is screenless, encouraging personal interaction and offering a versatile solution that transforms into instruments like piano or strings through color-coded learning.
Arcana Instruments' device is already available in the United States and the UK.
