TEMPI v31 new firmware features and functionality

"TEMPI31 is a new firmware for the TEMPI module that adds new functionality. See the included revised manual for full details on the update feature set.This new firmware may be be loaded into your TEMPI using the included TEMPI31.wav file.

PLEASE NOTE:
If your TEMPI flashes Buttons for CH.s 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on power up, you already have TEMPI31, the latest version of TEMPI firmware. There is no reason to run this update.
If your TEMPI is marked with v31 on the backside of the module, you already have TEMPI31, the latest version of TEMPI firmware. There is no reason to run this update.

New Features
(see new Manual Revision for full description of new features and behaviors)

1. BUTTON1 may be set to Leading Tap Tempo. When this option is set to ON, Button1 sets the Tempo referenced by ALL channels when calculating divisions and multiples. Once set, it is still possible to Machine Program Channel 1 to tempi other than 1/1. This option is engaged on the new CLOCK EDIT page in item (3) below.

2. New option for quicker MACHINE programming: during Coarse Machine Programming, while holding down relevant PGM button, press opposing PGM button to double the divisor or multiplier. For example, hold PGM_A and press BUTTON2 twice for /2, then, still holding PGM_A, press PGM_B once for /4, twice for /8, etc.

3. New Page: CLOCK EDIT. Access Clock Edit Page by double-pressing PGM_A and PGM_B simultaneously. On this page each channel can be set to output CLOCK (BUTTON lights BLUE) or TRIGGER (BUTTON lights OFF). Additionally, Ch1 can be set to have its Coarse Human Programming behavior replaced with Tap Tempo, with its BUTTON lighting on this page as follows: PURPLE for Tap Tempo/Clock output, RED for Tap Tempo/Trigger Output (BLUE and OFF are the same as all other channels).

4. On Program Edit Page, Run/Stop and Shift can now both be enabled at once (Buttons 4 and 5 both lit). When both behaviors are enabled, the State Select Gate input is used for Shift, and the Mod input for Run/Stop. When only one behavior is enabled, the Mod input is used as before. Button6 on the Program Edit Page now selects Jumbled or Unjumbled for both Shift and Reset information. Run/Stop Toggled option is removed."

"The Telharmonic from Make Noise is an ode to synthesis history. In implements digital models of three classic early electronic tone generation techniques. The first one is a 3-Voice additive harmonic synthesis engine that is inspired by the development of the Telharmonium (where the module gets its title), invented by Thaddeus Cahill in 1897. The second is modeled after a computer program written by James Tenney at Bell Laboratories in 1961. This synthesis model was made to generate fluctuating noise bands. The third synthesis engine is a classic Phase Modulation modeler, as used in many commercial digital synths from the 1980's."

"For sale is one of EH's coolest & rarest products - the EH Mini-synth, made around 1980. This thing's a tiny analog synth that's powered by (2) 9v batteries, or AC adapter. It's got a built in speaker and sounds AMAZING! Electro-Harmonix makes rock’n’roll effects & this unit is true-to-form. It’s a vintage rock’n’roll synth.

The EH-0400 has a 25 note membrane keyboard (instead of actual keys) & a built-in speaker. It also has 1/4″ jack to plug into an amp. It features one analog VCO with a pulse waveform, octave divider, and LFO for Pulse-Width-Modulation. The filters and the phasor make for loads of tweaking fun, & all of the controls/features work. The Mini-Synth can get ornery with lack of use, since dust in the sliders & touch-sensitive membrane can make it a bit scratchy. But a bit of contact cleaner attention will keep it going for years. All of the notes play; I had fun messing with it, & I’m not even a keyboard player (strictly guitar here!).

Cosmetically, this EH-0400 is in nice condition for being 35+ years-old, with nearly all of paint still on the keyboard & all of the colored tips on the sliders. Included is a new power source, already set on the proper polarity (+ on the tip of the plug) & voltages."

"When Ableton published the Link source code, I started experimenting with it and decided to explore the feasibility of a hardware Link-to-clock converter.

I made the first attempt with a Teensy 3.2 board and a a WIZ820io ethernet module, but due to some of the dependencies of Ableton Link, this approach proved too complex, as it would have required a complete rewrite of the low-level networking functionality.

Having abandoned the "bare metal" approach, the next natural candidate became a Raspberry Pi board: I had a Zero lying around and decided to use it to build the first prototype, mainly because of the power requirements and the form factor.

A couple of weekends later I had a working prototype and decided to design and order a PCB, which I only received almost two months later (thanks, Custom Office...). When the PCB finally arrived, I put everything together and spent some more time fine-tuning and optimizing here and there.

The final result is a hardware shield for the Raspberry Pi Zero board and the necessary software and scripts running on the Zero itself and providing real-time conversion from Ableton Link to eurorack-friendly clock and reset signals."

"My first Video of a simple sunday evening patch I played and recorded for myself. I use this for the documentation of my modular patch experiments.

The Drone: Is a Braids with the VOWL model, going thru the RT451 stereo multimode filter, one with HP the other with LP. They go to two channels of the 4ms VCA Matrix. The VCA Matrix is triggered from the Vermona Fourmulator, each LFO 90° shifted, so I get a quadrophonic effect in my studio with 4 speakers around my head.

Kickdrum: I used the Synthrotek ds-m, a wasp from doepfer, a channel from the HexVCA and a envelope from Intellijel. Triggered directly from the ALM Pamela's Workout.

The rhythmic plingplong: Is coming from the OSC-03 form MFB, triggered by the doepfer sequencer, the trigger is multiplied according to the voltage delivered to the A160-5 ratcheting controller.

The snare: Is a noise, going only thru the doepfer VCA in exponentional mode, controlled by an envelope, and then thru a Roland Demora stereo delay.

The JoMoX T-Rackonizer is an experimental filter network Eurorack module descended from the infamous T-Resonator. "This is my third demo created with analogue vintage and new synthesizers. You will hear the Minimoog model D ( 1973 ), Korg Polysix, Roland SH2 , Pittsburgh Modular, Trouby masterclock, Doepfer Dark Time and Dark Energy II, Arturia Microbrute, Korg Monotribe and Akai Rhythm Wolf. Stereo reverb comes from Alesis Microverb III and stereo delay from my Behringer Xenyx 1202 FX. The phasing effect is done by EHX small stone. Mixers are Behringer 1202 FX and 1002.

Everything is taken in one track; no post production.

Devices are connected via Control Voltage and Triggering.

There is no Midi used .

Sequential Circuits Prophet T8 Analog Synthesizer SN 000574

Prophet T8 Voicing Dropout Inner Recess

Sounds like voices 1 and 4 are out. The T8 is an eight voice synth and you will note for every eight note cycle he plays, the first and fourth notes don't play. Hence why it's not always the same keys. The notes played just cycle through the voice boards.

"For sale, a Sequential Circuits Prophet T8 synthesizer. This synth is a beast! If you are considering this, I’m sure you are aware of its capabilities. The only issue I've found with it is there are times when a voice, or voices, cut out randomly in a wave-like or LFO fashion where certain keys will not play, but it’s not always the same key.
