"One of the great features of the Analog RYTM is the semi-random trig feature. Quite like some Buchla modules, you can set a level of possibility to play of any given trig or series of trigs to allow constant variation of any programmed beat. I decided to use a small 16 step sequence with a helping of possible variations to see in such a little space how more interesting can you make a basic sequence.

The noodle was all done as you see it, I preprogrammed the RYTM but everything else was unplanned and a one take. The Rain and Thunder I recorded from the beginning of Summer this year."

"Korg's Synthe-Bass (model SB-100) is a small 2-octave monophonic bass synth that had a very fat sound. It has one oscillator, an AD Envelope and a low-pass filter. No LFO, no arpeggiators or sequencers and certainly no memory. Small and portable, it came in a brief-case design. Unlike many portable synths of the time, it featured full size keys."

"Here's some raw sound and general exploration of the new prototype (just arrived during the event) Model D from Behringer. Plenty of low end, filter sweeps, various resonance, oscillator detune, noise and snappy envelopes. It was of course packed around the synth and there was a queue to even touch the thing with the team keeping things fair with people waiting etc. Hence ... a quick exploratory demo and not something more in depth. So take it for what it is and listen to the sound."

Yeah, even more jam sessions techno style coming up... this is the third song/movement for my live gig in May.. i hope that the three latest jams will be able to work and blend into one hour of freestyle jamming :D Might have to do one more just to be on the safe side..

Also, i am planning maybe to bring the reface CP (which im not using on any of the three tracks) just to spice things up with some ambient style piano noodling on top.. what do you think ?

This one is heavy on the 0-coast sequence.. i am automating reverb in the A4 plug going wild on the EQD pedals... great fun. All in all I sense a good groove in this one.

"3 step Switch to change LFO speed range from low to medium to very high

Rotary knob that changes Pulse Width Modulation source - I dont know what the sources are but it sounds different in character as you switch

External audio jack switch and amount knob

Overdrive which adds distortion

FM Source with associated Amount knob which changes the tone to more metallic as you expect for FM

There are also two jacks LFO Ext and VCF Ext which may be input modulation sources for the LFO and VCF so you can connect to a modular system for example and run your own wave forms through this synth and take advantage of its filter and so forth

When you turn the LFO Ext switch it disconnects the internal LFO so the jack must be for an external LFO input

Suffice to say the mods add a whole new dimension to the well known sound of this classic synth."

Rossum Control Forge - First Exploratory Test

"This is a first, quick, exploratory test of the amazingly powerful Rossum CONTROL FORGE Programmable Universal CV Generator... five minutes after unboxing and installing; haven't read the manual yet, just going through a few of the presets. I'm basically just using the Control Forge as a Sequencer, and as a Looping Envelope Generator... I haven't even scratched the surface of what all the Control Forge can do! Patch Notes:

The CV Out of the Control Forge is going into the V/OCT of the Mutable Instruments BRAIDS. Trigger Out of the Control Forge is going into Trigger In of Mutable Instruments PEAKS (with Peaks in Envelope Mode) and then Peaks going into Mutable WARPS (with Warps acting as a VCA.) On occasion, I don't even use the Trigger Out of Control Forge at all.

There is a touch of delay from the 4MS DUAL LOOPING DELAY here and there, and a touch of reverb from Mutable Instruments CLOUDS."
