GS Music - Bree 6 - Anthema Volume 1 #customsound #bree6 #sounds
video upload by Scott McAuley Sounds
"Patches will be available at https://www.synthsounds.co.uk/shop
So the amazing Guido Salaya kindly sent me the bree6 to do some Youtube Demo's and some custom patches. And on first impressions, the bree6 may look small & relatively simple in architecture, but wow does this thing ooze character, punch and sizzle! It is very capable of a multitude of timbres indeed.
I have thoroughly enjoyed programming this little workhorse, it really is a great little synth! the chorus sounds amazing very Junoesque.
The bree6 is an ideal synth for use Live or in the Studio, instant satisfaction for any seasoned programmer. It's a little workhorse of a synth!
Very very impressed indeed.
Well done GS Music!"

Binaural Synthesis on Novation Summit: Bitimbral Hard-Pan Patches + Build From Scratch
video upload by copenhagennoiselab
"This video is an experiment in binaural-style synthesis on the Novation Summit, using bitimbral mode with each part hard panned left and right.
I start by demoing a handful of binaural patches, then do a real-time build in the middle where I patch a binaural setup from scratch, explaining the decisions as I go. It ends with more patch demos once the core idea is in place.
The trigger for this was the ongoing discussion around the UDO range and how it approaches binaural by design. I realized you can push a similar concept much further on other synths if you’re willing to build it deliberately.
Why the Summit for this? The digital NCOs can be set up so both layers stay phase-aligned and pitch-stable, which makes it possible to control every intentional difference between left and right without the whole thing drifting into 'close enough.'
Headphones recommended. The effect is the point."

"What fits in your pocket, is fully Open Source, and can run CircuitPython, MakeCode Arcade or Arduino games you write yourself? That's right, it's the Adafruit PyGamer! We wanted to make an entry-level gaming handheld for DIY gaming, and maybe a little retro-emulation. It's not the fastest and best of everything but it is an all-in-one dev board with a lot of possibilities!
The PyGamer is powered by our favorite chip, the ATSAMD51, with 512KB of flash and 192KB of RAM. We add 8 MB of QSPI flash for file storage, handy for images, fonts, sounds, or game assets."

Sequential Showdown: The Surprising Winner...

"In this video, I'm doing a comparison between the Sequential Prophet-6, Prophet-600, and Prophet 10 And the results might surprise you... We're breaking down the raw oscillator tone, the drift and vibe, filter character, best use cases, and that elusive 'vintage soul' to help you figure out which Sequential legend truly belongs in your studio.

21:19 Pushing the Envelope 24:06 Overall..?
"Some genuine surprises in this head-to-head with the Sequential Fourm and the legendary Sequential Pro-One to find out if the Fourm can give the same vibe.
At first glance, the architecture looks familiar: dual oscillators, classic envelopes, a focused modulation section, and unmistakable Prophet-era DNA from Prophet-5 territory. But the big question is this: does the Fourm capture the raw punch, deep bass, and aggressive character that made the Pro-One a cult classic?
.. and I know it's not a clone :) but in this in-depth demo and comparison, I explore:
Oscillator behaviour, sync, PWM and FM
Filter differences (including low-end depth and resonance extremes)
Envelope response and modulation range
Bass performance, subs, and room-shaking tones
Where the Fourm goes beyond the Pro-One — and where it doesn’t
Rather than obsessing over perfect null tests, this video focuses on feel, playability, and whether the Four inspires the same kinds of sounds and musical ideas as the original Pro-One.
If you’re into analog monosynths, Sequential gear, vintage vs modern comparisons, or you’re wondering whether a contemporary synth can truly stand in for a rising-price classic, this one’s for you.
🎧 Headphones or proper speakers strongly recommended — some of these bass tones go very deep."

He Hates This Synth Because…
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"In this video, I pick one thing I think I hate about 12 classic synthesizers—and then follow that feeling wherever it leads.
We’re talking about legendary instruments:
Minimoog, MS-20, Prophet-5, Jupiter-8, ARP 2600, Moog IIIc ('Plantasia'), Oberheim 4-Voice, Oberheim OB-X, Synclavier III, Elka Synthex, and Yamaha CS-30.
What starts as frustration with a workflow choice, a knob, or a design limitation slowly turns into something else entirely.
Along the way, I realize this video isn’t really about hating synths at all. It’s about relationships.
Every one of these instruments has limitations—and so do we. In any good relationship, not everything is perfect. But when you stop fighting what something isn’t and start understanding what it is, those limitations can become the very thing that leads you somewhere creative and unexpected.
Instead of endless options, boundaries create focus.
Instead of frustration, they create identity.
And in learning to understand these instruments more deeply, I ended up learning something about myself.
This is a video about synthesizers—but it’s also a small morality tale about creativity, acceptance, and finding freedom inside constraints.
Let me know in the comments:
Which synth do you love… even though it drives you crazy? 🎛️"

"The SND FB-14 is a stunning GERMANIUM TRANSISTOR based FILTERBANK with 14 fixed Q band pass filters. As you can hear in the demo the sound shaping shaping potential of this filter is enormus.
SND FB-14 is assisted by WLK-Audio Inductive Filterbank (silicon) to control excessive boosts and the core of the wiring: ART passive splitter + mixer SplitMix4. The SplitMix knob marked with the WHITE DOT (blue, unused in this session, is for additional feedback!) is controlling the signal that is fed back into SND.
The basic feed is from TORSO Electronics S-4 sculpting sampler."
Building the ReZyklus - Vangelis' Zyklus MPS1 Clone
This one is in via Jeroen of https://zyklus-mps.com/
"A while ago a group of enthausiasts set out to create a clone of the Zyklus MPS-1 that was made famous by Vangelis for its use on Direct (this was also the inspiration for the actual 'Direct' system he used until ca 1994). The original creators of this machine, Pete Kellock and Bill Marshall graciously allowed us to use the schematics and software to create this clone and have given us their permission to set it free for everyone who wants to make their own. So here goes:In this GIT repo is everything you need to create your own machine. You will have to source your own parts, but there is a list for that. The parts are basic components, nothing custom, but some items may become slightly rare (like small EPROMs).
Its basically just a Z80 based computer.
There are also files to have the circuit boards and panels created (we used jlcpcb for that), and some 3d printing files for various panel work. A lot of the buttons etc you can get cheaply from Aliexpress and the like. Bin files for the EPROMs are also avialable. I've been also given permission to open source the actual source code, and I will do that too, at some point, but I'm still working on a few small issues before I can do that.
https://github.com/jeroenhn/zykl
There is a discord server you can join where you can chat with other builders.
The clone as we made it, is a dedicated to the memory of Vangelis and it's noted as such on the main circuit board."
See this previous post for a Demo tape on the original Zyklus. See the Zyklus label at the bottom of this post for additional posts including a documentary with Vangelis.

In this video, I bring you along the adventure of building a really nice Minimoog from parts I have had over the years.

Thanks for watching!

"BOUNCE One-Shot Event Generator
This is a compact event generator built for percussive envelopes, bouncing modulations and rhythmic control signals.
Bounce creates trigger-driven one-shots with a set of 8 distinct waveforms selectable via the large control knob. From sharp, click-like hits to softer, rounded contours. This offers fast access to clearly different envelope characters.
Repeat function with a ”bouncing ball” effect, making the bounces naturally fade within the cycle.
The length control sets the length of the waveform while repeats add repetitions of the wave, and delay sets the time between those waves.
These features in combination makes it easy to move from single tight envelopes to rolls, flams, clustered impacts and creative rhythmic patterns.
All main parameters got CV-inputs. A dedicated inverted output adds instant polarity flip.
Background
We like techno. For us its about solid kicks with defined transients and a fundamental low end that moves air without collapsing the mix.
Bounce is built to be performative and work at the source. By shaping events, accents and repetitions already at the control stage – it lets the mix breathe and leaves space where it matters most. Perfect for basslines, drums and transients."

Such a beautiful lo-fi melancholic sound with a load of modulation. I fell in love with the sound when I came across the Gene synths website last year.
Great solid build quality and probably the best knobs of any synth I own ❤️
The interface is unique and encourages exploration and experimentation.

Serviced ARP Omni 2 Synthesizer with Synthchaser MIDI, LED Sliders & Road Case
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this eBay listing

"Here's a nice, restored ARP Omni 2... with MIDI!! This synthesizer has just been fully serviced by Synthchaser, the United States' top ARP specialist - recapped, new key bushings, new LED sliders, clean, fully functional, calibrated, in tune and sounding great. And best of all, this has been fitted with the Synthchaser MIDI Adapter! This keyboard is the sound of Joy Division and is all over The Cars' "Moving In Stereo", and many other late 70's/early 80's albums. It produces the lush Solina/String Ensemble sounds plus has a polyphonic synthesizer section with a voltage controlled filter, LFO, and ADSR, and a dedicated bass synthesizer section.
Excellent condition, with some marks on the right leather side panel. Includes a road case that needs new foam and to be aired out as it smells musty. See photos for condition. This synth was serviced by Synthchaser (the top ARP specialist) in February 2026. Work done included:
Synthchaser MIDI Adapter - Supports MIDI IN and THRU (only an "IN" jack has been fitted on this synthesizer). Configurable MIDI channel and starting key on your MIDI controller.
Synthchaser Precision LED slider upgrade. All 15 of the old original sliders have been replaced with new, smooth, high precision LED illuminated sliders (purple color--think Prince!). The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement.
Power supply rebuilt - All tantalum and electrolytic capacitors in the power supply have been replaced, and high quality, high temperature 105 deg C capacitors have been used for the power supply filter capacitors.
All tantalum capacitors replaced - The tantalum capacitors in ARP synths are ticking time bombs. All of the over 100 tantalum capacitors in this synth, including the power supply and filter submodule, have been replaced with electrolytics to help provide stable operation for years to come.
Synthchaser 4075 Filter Enhancement Kit Installed - The ARP Omni uses the same 4075 filter submodule found in the Odyssey, Quadra, Avatar, and Pro DGX. This has been recapped, and enhanced to provide superior frequency response.
Keyboard rebuild - New key bushings installed, buss bar & key contacts cleaned and adjusted, keybed leveled, keys cleaned
Oscilloscope calibration - Fully calibrated to factory spec using oscilloscope and frequency counter."

From Order to Chaos | Sound Architecture 01
video upload by _marcozoppi
"| Sound Mechanics of Chaos and Randomness |
In this video, I explore chaotic systems in modular synthesis, starting from Rob Hordijk’s ideas on feedback and nonlinear patching, and developing a system that lives between control and unpredictability.
Why chaos? Because perfection is static — chaos is alive. Small changes create massive transformations, generating evolving, organic sound structures that never truly repeat.
This approach goes beyond 'perfect' modulation and embraces instability as a creative tool for sound design, composition, and generative systems.
Special Guest 🎤
In this episode, I also interview Federico Intrisano (Jolin) about modular development, philosophy, and experimentation.

KORG Berlin Phase 8 | Acoustic Synthesis from First Touch to Full Jam
video upload by Noisegate
"We head to the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio for our first hands-on look at the KORG Berlin Phase 8, one of the most unusual instruments to land on the Noisegate desk in years.
Phase 8 is built around eight electromechanical voices, each physically striking a steel resonator or tine. Instead of traditional oscillators, sound is generated through real vibrating materials, then shaped with envelopes, modulation, sequencing, and analogue wavefolding. The result feels closer to playing a physical instrument than programming a synth.
In this video, we explore:
– How Phase 8 produces sound
– Sequencing, pluck, shift and performance controls
– Acoustic interaction using everyday objects
– Processing Phase 8 with external effects
– Integrating Phase 8 into a wider live jam setup

MICROFREAK & PIGMENTS 7 DEMO
video upload by elz production
"Microfreak:
We can think of many reasons to freak over the MicroFreak. Yes, it is small, but it does offer some of the most unique sounds we’ve heard when it comes to budget synths.
If you’re new to the synth world, you really can’t go wrong with this instrument and it’s a great option with which to learn your skills. It’s well-built, comes with plenty of sound options, and the interface is intuitive.
Synths are evolving and growing in power every year. While some of us might love the crispness of an analog synth, as well as their bulky size, we still love the fact that you can have a powerful synth that can fit in a traveling case.
It makes us wonder about what the future holds for Arturia and the budget synth market in general.
Pigments 7:
Arturia have done it again. Pigments has grown in terms of features and become leaner and meaner under the hood, with those CPU and workflow improvements. It retains its place at the top table of software synthesizers, sitting alongside the likes of Omnisphere, Absynth 6 and UVI’s Falcon.
For the MPE enthusiasts amongst you, Pigments further cements its place as a showcase instrument for such endeavours. Pair it up with an Osmose, Rise or even Arturia’s own PolyBrute 12, and Pigments 7 becomes next-level superb.
If I had one quibble, it would be the lack of day-one support for AstroLab. They always seem to be playing catch-up, which will leave AstroLab owners slightly frustrated that they can’t take advantage of these new sounds straight away."

Bizarre Love Triangle/New Order (Circuit Tracks & MiniDEXED version)
video upload by Guinan
"‘Bizarre Love Triangle’ from 1986 is first off the rank for my ‘New Order February’ recreations.
I love this perfect slice of dance-synth-pop and I was keen to get the DX7 bass intro as close as I could. Earlier this week I’ve been showing the tiny $75 Raspberry Pi synth, MiniDEXED, that I built to add this vital ingredient. If you are interested check out the video showing more details, • I made a synth for $75* ! (*excluding tar... [posted here]
A couple of very clever folk identified what I was cooking up!
The MiniDEXED was sequenced from the MIDI tracks on the Circuit Tracks and routed into the audio in to add effects from the Tracks. All that you hear was programmed into the single Circuit Tracks and no further additional synths or processing were done to the sound – it’s straight audio out recorded direct into a Zoom L6.
The arrangement was taken from several versions posted on Musescore and compressed into the 4 melodic tracks and rhythm. Thanks to everyone who posts their transcriptions there.
I hope you enjoy the track as much as I did making it. Stay tuned for more New Order recreations and reworkings for the rest of this month.
(Ableton Move version coming in just a couple of days...I'll post a link here when it's live).

U-He Zebra 2: Dark Rhythmical Presets + Patterns. Sound Demo
video upload by Anton Anru
📡 'Quantum Pulses' is a bank of 50 presets + patterns for the U-he Zebra 2 virtual synthesizer. The collection contains dark, deep, atmospheric, sci-fi, harsh and aggressive sounds that have a wide range of uses: from cinematic sound design to modular techno sequences.
🔭 The soundset is inspired by the modern techno scene, vintage sci-fi films and experimental robots. Perfect for Techno, Industrial, Dub, IDM, Experimental, Cinematic sound design, and others.
📦 Get these presets: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/zebr...
👤 The author of the soundset is skendi (Arseniy Pushkov).
⚗️ The sequences work in arpeggio mode, which allows for more interesting playing of several notes in a pattern.
🎚️ Each patch is performance-ready, with velocity sensitivity and ModWheel assignments mapped for expressive control. ModWheel affects the ADSR's performance, making sounds both clearer and more blurred.
🎛️ Each patch includes 8 Macros. These controls are designed stylistically and affect the waveform, giving it movement and changing its shape, adding various FM textures and bitcrush, and also affecting the filter by opening and closing it.
The X/Y controls can be manipulated with a mouse or used as 1–8 macro knobs for hands-on control via a standard MIDI controller, making the soundset highly expressive and performance-friendly.

KALEIDOSCOPE. Standalone Rehearsal.
video upload by Vadjuse
"In this noisy and deep track, I use all four tracks from Kaleidoscope.
Tracks 3 and 4 are two bass sounds, tuned to a common MIDI channel to work in unison. Their frequencies are shifted by a fifth and an octave. I change this interval as the track progresses. These sounds FM-modulate each other and themselves. They also have different glide values so that when the frequency is changed, the FM synthesis produces more fat and dirt. I also added distortion after the comb filter to make the sound as thick as possible. I was inspired by LORN.
Track 1 is a kick drum built on pitch modulation of a sine wave. This sine wave can be mixed with noise from a wavefolder. The modulation envelope increases the distortion level. The kick drum also has a very high feedback value of the comb filter, so we hear multiple echoes that act as a source of FM modulation for this kick drum. The comb filter's delay length is adjusted so that the echoes are precisely timed. The kick drum's filter is slightly closed to reduce the noise level.
Track 2 is a solo lead that has no internal modulations—just a sawtooth. However, it does have a cyclical volume envelope, which adds dynamics. This volume envelope also opens the kick filter on track 1, letting noise into the mix that feels like percussion. Track 2 experiences the FM modulation of track 3, which significantly complicates the timbre. I use this track for melodic movement—I play around with the transposition and try to keep the sound from becoming too dissonant.
Presets from this composition can be downloaded and loaded into your instrument using the link. https://disk.yandex.ru/d/T3fZoPYqTkyjUg
