SEOK - PLUTNIK – Complex Dual VC-LFO [DEMO no talk]

video upload by SEOK synthesizers

"This is a pure modulation party in a small footprint. The Morph and Merge functions provide access to complex waveforms for a wide range of modulation. Distribute them across your rack via nine outputs.

Each LFO offers fast or slow cycling, with selectable square and triangle shapes. The fast cycles reach into audio territory at around 100 Hz, making it useful for percussive modulation and low-end movement. In slow mode, cycles extend up to ~35 seconds. With external negative CV, this can be pushed into the range of around 10 minutes.

Blend the LFO signals, or any external signals (including audio), in the Morph section. Or use the signals in the relational logic section, Merge, which opens up a wide set of derived waveforms by slicing, combining or rectifying. Pseudo waveshaping.

Designed and hand-built in Sweden."

New Blukač Fractalist - Sound Samples Ep. 1

video upload by Blukač Instruments

"In this sketch, we demonstrate how a pair of Fractalists is working together in a timbral progression.

The left one is responsible for the bass sound, where, with each iteration, the waveform is unfolded, becoming more and more complex and rich in harmonics.

It is also modulated a bit with a built-in LFO patched into the WARP input to add some movement.

The right one produces a percussive part. The actual base frequency is very low, and with a standard oscillator, there will be no sound or only a rumble. Here is a different story. As the generated waveform is very complex and contains a lot of harmonics, they become audible as rhythmic patterns.

With each iteration, this effect is more prominent. WARP is not modulated to have this specific pattern to be fixed, but if you were to change it, there are a lot of different patterns to look for. In future episodes, we will explore this in more detail.

Audio is intentionally captured raw, without any filters, VCAs, or effects."

via Perfect Circuit

Fractalist from Blukac is a unique digital oscillator that creates complex waveforms and rhythmic undulations using fractals, generating captivating sounds that evolve and grow into digital chaos. Start by selecting a core waveform, either triangle or trapezoidal, and expand its fractal dimension with the Iter control to create iterations on this shape, adding harmonics to the sound that bloom in digital bliss. Through all these fractal transformations, Fractalist's output maintains its periodicity, with a Frequency control that can be used to shift in octaves, semitones, or fine-tuned between notes. At low frequencies, Fractalist becomes an oddball rhythm machine, churning its mathematical movements in unique patterns according to the waveshape created through fractal expansion.

Select your desired degree of digital artifacting with the Alias switch, inviting or omitting the unique sounds of system failure as your harmonics grow beyond the bounds of Fractalist's digital structure, folding frequencies back on themselves for inharmonic results. The onboard Warp control can be used to further modulate the timbre of your sound, alongside dedicated inputs for frequency modulation and hard Sync. Finally, a saturating boost is available to add heat to the cold digital output, while a friendly adjustable LFO provides an onboard source for modulating Fractalist's bevy of CV inputs. With its unique synthesis engine and plentiful opportunities for creative patching in a broader Eurorack environment, Blukac's Fractalist is sure to expand your sound palette, and perhaps, your mind.

FORMANTA EMS-01 - Ode To Devotion (Live)

video upload by LFOstore

"This composition played live by Nick Klimenko on recently restored & tuned flagship of soviet synthesizers - Formanta EMS-01.

Its very hard to tune OSC sections & there are not so many fully working & tuned units in the world!
Thanks to / @ДмитрийБоровских-ш7п for midifying & tuning work!

Working unit sounding ultra mega magnificent!

FORMANTA EMS-01 is an electronical music instrument combining a polyphonic organ and a monophonic synthesizer. It is designed to perform music of all genres and to create various sound effects while recording soundtracks for movies and plays, or studio recording. The organ has a 5-octave keyboard, 6 preset sound timbres, frequency vibrato with adjustable vibrato delay, decay adjustment and a stereophaser (both for organ and synthesizer). The "vibrato delay" scheme is activated again only after all the previously pressed keys are released. In the "legato" mode the "vibrato delay" scheme is not activated.

The synthesizer has:

3-octave keyboard;
modulator, modulation voltage from which is applied to frequency modulator, width modulator, filter, and amplifier; broad band oscillators 1 and 2 (with various waveforms);
mixer, designed for summation of signals from oscillators 1 and 2, noise generator, external source, and ring modulator; filter, designed for dynamic and static changing of the spectrum of summarized signal from mixer output;
amplifier, designed for making the sound corresponding to various parameters of the envelope;
Visual division of the synthesizer panel into the above listed sections and their lay-out make it more easy to orientate oneself while setting the required timbre. Besides, the synthesizer is able to simultaneously control one more similar synthesizer through a special cable and connectors CONTR IN and CONTR OUT.

The instrument provides the opportunity of connecting stereo headphones; the volume in headphones doesn't change in case of changing the volume of the instrument from zero to maximum at all the outputs of the instrument with the foot pedal; thanks to this, preliminary control of timbre through the headphones before applying it to amplifiers is possible. By switching on PHASER into the channel of organ or synthesizer, it is possible to get stereo sound in the outputs STEREO L and STEREO P. In case PHASER is switched off, both channels will function in MONO mode."

Anukari: A 3D Physics-modeling synthesizer

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We take a deep dive into the world of 3D physics-modeling synthesis with Anukari, which we first discovered at #NAMM earlier this year. This instrument allows you to manipulate masses, springs, various excitation sources (including external audio) and pick up the vibrations of the objects with microphones. It's a very different way of creating sounds than the typical software synthesizer, and presents unique possibilities. This approach also has unique challenges, and takes a while to learn and longer to master. Fortunately, there are a lot of great presets and templates to get you started.

Making 2-bar patterns on the TR-808 with the 1st/2nd part function

video upload by Collector Current

"The TR-808 (or RE-808 in my case) has two ways to make longer patterns. There is the A/B function which lets you switch between two different patterns (AAAA or BBBB) or alternate (ABAB). But there is also the option to extend your pattern with a '2nd part' to make it up to 32 steps long.

This is independent of A/B so if you want you could even have 4 bars in your pattern: A1, A2, B1, B2.

In this video I show how to use the 1st/2nd part function.

Moog Muse: 64 Retro Cinematic Ambient Presets. Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

🌃 'Echoes Of Machines' is a collection of 64 atmospheric cinematic presets for Moog Muse.
🗂 It includes: 19 Keys, 9 Leads, 5 Pads, 9 Strings, 12 Synths, 4 Drones, and 6 Textures.
📺 The soundset draws inspiration from sci-fi movies, cinematic soundtracks, dystopian worlds, urban landscapes, retro electronica, noise ambient albums, experimental modern art, and contemporary sound design.
📼 Built around the concept of imperfection, the collection blends gritty, lo-fi textures with constantly shifting timbres shaped through deep modulation.

📦 The download link: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/muse...

📻 The timbral range is wide and diverse, covering dark, noisy, lo-fi, warm, deep, retro/vintage, melancholic, atmospheric, detuned, cold, distant, dull, massive, epic, bright, distorted, metallic, tense, atonal, non-harmonic, FX-like, evolving, and sweeping textures.

🎛 All patches are Velocity-sensitive. The ModWheel enhances expressiveness by adding motion and tonal variation—brightening the sound, introducing vibrato, shifting timbre, or adding extra movement for dynamic and engaging performance.

Aftertouch introduces distortion, increases sustain, or speeds up modulations.
The Macro Knob introduces additional changes—it enhances the stereo effect or detuning, adds bright overtones, or adds modulation to the filter or oscillators.

Pirin V1 for Behringer DeepMind 12D/12/6/X by NatLIfe - is a new collection of mix sounds between Melodic Techno, Trance & Ambient.

This is the complex ARP programs(inspired by Martin Roth, Ben Böhmer & Anjunadeep style) together with deep atmosphere in PAD sounds(inspired by Trilucid & Colorize style), Synth, Modular, SFX, Plucks and punching modulated Bass (inspired by Stephan Bodzin & Ben Böhmer styled).

You will not find anything similar to this collection.

The Soundbank contains 50 Behringer Deepmind 12D/12/6/X presets, which are:

10 Sequenced ARP's
3 Bass
5 Modular sounds
18 Pad patches
8 FX
2 Synth
3 SEQ
1 Pluck

I developed these sounds in a place completely remote from civilization, high in the mountains, around wild forests, fields, rivers and lakes, where nature itself told me how a synthesizer should sound.

My main goal was to make an exceptional atmosphere in one library, where I worked hard on every sound for days to make it sound exactly how it should.

"The Sequential Multitrak (released in 1985) is a six-voice analog synthesizer notable for combining true analog sound with early digital control.

Each voice has a CEM3394 synth-on-a-chip, offering a single oscillator, sub-oscillator, noise source, and resonant low-pass filter. It was one of the first affordable synths to feature a built-in sequencer and MIDI implementation, making it popular for both studio and live use.

The Multitrak’s panel and parameter editing system allowed deep sound design, though programming could be a bit tedious. Its warm, punchy tone and distinctive Sequential character make it a cult favorite among vintage synth enthusiasts today.

This one works like a charm and has that analog warmth you've been looking for in a polysynth."

The Arplus module from Zlosynth Instruments is a robust Karplus-Strong 6-voice resonator that gives you a bevy of musical scales at your fingertips. The Arplus works by selecting a particular chord based on the scale you select, stepping through the notes of that chord via the Trigger input and button. Use the Tone control to set the root note, and use the Chord control to select the particular chord. Both controls have corresponding CV inputs that let you create intricate sequences or melodic randomness. Choose from 31 different types of scales that include Western, Arabic, Indian, Japanese, and even quarter tones.

Internally, a burst of noise gets generated to create the sound, however, if you want more control over your noise bursts, an external input is available for you to patch in whatever you'd like. Use the String control to adjust how many virtual strings remain resonant after the trigger—up to 6 strings can resonate at a time allowing for soaring expanses of ambience and gorgeous clusters of notes. Sculpt the sound right on the module with a built-in filter, including resonance and cutoff, along with a Contour control that moves from short percussive bursts to long swells of washed texture.

Of course, no resonator would be complete without a stereo output, and the Arplus doesn't disappoint. Choose from three different stereo spreads: Ping Pong, which alternates voices between left and right, Root, which sends the Root to the Left and everything else to the Right, and Haas, which creates a stereo spread using the psychoacoustic Haas effect. The Arplus from Zlosynth is more than just your typical resonator, with an easy-to-read scale selector and a lovely sound that's sure to win over your heart and ears.

ARPLUS FEATURES

6 Voice Karplus-Strong resonator
External audio input for custom excitation sources

A Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter soundscape with the Fractal Audio FM3

video upload by MIDERA

"So, I borrowed my friend's Roland MKS-80 because there was an issue with it (actually, there wasn't, we just didn't have something connected right). Well, I figured I'd try playing it. I knew I hated my Jupiter 6 and I was convinced this would sound just as bad.

I was VERY mistaken. The MKS-80 sounds nothing like the JP6. I don't know what anyone's talking about when they say they sound alike. The MKS-80 sounds way better, to my ears, I absolutely despised the JP6 filter. The MKS-80 sounds great. I'm honestly really impressed.

I could buy an MKS-80. I'm tempted - but I do have a Prophet 10 which sounds pretty similar... but... how often will I come across another Jupiter 7?

🎛️ GreyScale — Generative Instrument Playlist / Phase4

video uploads by

GreyScale presents “Phase4,” a curated playlist documenting the evolution of Generative Instruments.
This edition focuses on KOSMOS, a self‑contained generative instrument built on the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040).
Through a series of short videos, Phase4 traces how the instrument’s behavior, algorithms, UI, and sound design have taken shape over time.

Within the tight constraints of the RP2040, the playlist explores how phrase generation, timing variation, and timbral movement are implemented, and how a minimal hardware platform can still produce expressive, autonomous musical motion.
Phase4 serves as a compact archive of experiments, breakthroughs, and the small decisions that allow a machine to “begin to sing” on its own.

For those interested in DIY instruments, generative music, embedded sound design, or the aesthetics of algorithmic motion, this playlist captures the current state of GreyScale’s generative instrument research.

AW NOISE MAKER, a glitched troublemaker noise synth

video upload by AudioWanderer

"The AW noise maker is a non-idiomatic instrument made not to be controlled or understood in any manner. Based on poor signal-to-noise ratio transmissions and glitch aesthetics. The key to playing with this noisy device isn't to reach perfection in its operation or trying to predict the way it works to achieve similar results every time it is used. In fact, the machine is programmed to be unpredictable every time it is connected due to a carefully designed randomization mechanism that modify the conditions used by the device when it boots up. So, you never know exactly how it will sound or how the filters will work the next time you play with the AW noise maker.

Another funny thing about this device is the glitched display. A mess of pixels and line iterations once you start to push buttons and twist knobs there transforming the display into another source of chaos and uncertainty. That's the spirit behind this little gadget: to express the turmoil and instability that we are living in. Use this machine as a way to meditate above the noise... with the noise. AW noise maker will be available soon. Limited units. Register your interest for this gadget from hell here:

"Sound bank notes

In my opinion, the Murmux Adept is a modern classic among synthesizers. It oozes quality and depth with a vintage analog sound and a strong personality. The oscillators, filters and analog stereo bucket brigade delay (BBD) interact to create a rich palette of timbres, with an inclination towards dark ambient textures.

It excels at ambient pads, textures and atmospheres so I have exploited this in many of my patches. I have also created more conventional sounds such as strings and brass which sing with power and majesty – rivalling those of the Sequential Prophet 5. Lead sounds are another strength of the Murmux, so you will find many within the bank ranging from pure triangles and sines through to aggressive and expressive saws.

Although the Murmux looks like a very simple synth - lacking complex features like a modulation matrix, in fact it is possible to create many layers of modulation simultaneously. You can for instance, assign velocity (how hard you press the keys) to modulate envelope times while also morphing between waveforms in both oscillators and using aftertouch to control filter cutoff and resonance. In this sound bank I have used modulation comprehensively and all patches have parameters assigned to the mod wheel as well as aftertouch and/ or velocity to maximise the expressiveness of the sounds.

The delay is a big feature of this synth so I have used it a lot, although you will also find traditional analog synth patches with no effects at all. The BBD resonator and ensemble modes are powerful, yet I have tended to use them for subtle modulation to thicken sounds or to create gentle flanging.

No AI was used in the creation of this video.

HOW TO Build a Portable Live Techno Rig (and Actually Perform With It)

video upload by SynthDad Music

"Turing machines are generative sequencers that create looped melodies that slowly evolve and change over time, perfect for techno. I'm using the Shroud of Turing from Flatsix Modular in my compact techno setup. It's a 1U turing machine with clever features like user-defined scales and the ability to save different scales to play. I'm using it with Shakmat Ballista Blast as the main voice . Ohmforce Bohm is the main kick and I play it against Shakmat Battering Ram for dual-kick fun."

HOW TO Build a Portable Live Techno Rig (and Actually Perform With It)

video upload by SynthDad

"I used to think a bigger setup meant more options meant better music. Turns out the opposite is true, at least for me.

For a while my live rig was getting more complex every time I played it. More modules, more flexibility, more things to manage. And instead of playing, I was troubleshooting. So I stripped it back.

In this video I walk through the portable techno case I built for live performance; what made the cut, what didn't, and why having fewer options actually made me more focused and more musical on stage.

If you make techno with hardware and performing live is something you're thinking about, hopefully this is useful.

TEAR - Experimental jam #31 // Vhikk X, Moog Subharmonicon, Bitbox

video upload by David Falcon

"Testing this battery powered mobile setup. The Palette case can be powered via powerbank and with the Bitbox micro I can record within the Modular case itself, without the need of any other equipment. The idea behind it is to take it outside to some special places to record, and maybe add some field recordings in the background.

I finally got to try the Vhikk X after a while trying to get one. The first few hours with it I was not very inspired by it, but kept digging and found this small melody that felt pretty emotional. Ironically the drone bass did not come from the Vhikk, but instead from my favorite, the Subharmonicon.

The Bitbox is here because it can do a lot in such small footprint. It is a sampler in the classic sense, but also is acting as a pseudo-Radio Music module with a radio sample I found, and also is recording the whole piece directly like the 4ms Wav Recorder.

In Ableton I added later on a bit of compression and EQ to even out the sounds.

I have published the first ALBUM that is acompilation of songs, some from this year and some older called "Hipotese". It is available in the streaming platforms and bandcamp. Go check it out!

Genki Instruments Katla #4 | Winterdagen

video upload by Winterdagen

I can't get enough of these kind of gentle key patches on the Katla synthesizer! For this patch I used a similar approach to the previous one, using the self oscillating filter as a sound source. But this time I played with modulating the wave folder, which at times in the piece almost feels like an extra melody coming in. I also once again tuned one of the voices an octave higher than the other ones, for unpredictable octave jumps in the melody, I just love that so much on Katla! For the next patch I'll try a more distorted one, promise."

Introducing Cosmic Debris from WMD and Infrasonic Audio

video uploads by WMDevices

"Cosmic Debris is a powerful delay and reverb engine built for modular explorers who want more than just echoes. Playlist:
1. Introducing Cosmic Debris from WMD and Infrasonic Audio
2. 3 patches with WMD Cosmic Debris
3. WMD Cosmic Debris - In-depth overview and tutorial

See additional posts featuring Cosmic Debris here.

"A collaboration born in the Denver modular community

Cosmic Debris began as a design by Nick Donaldson of Infrasonic Audio, a fellow Denver modular enthusiast we met through our monthly Freq Boutique gatherings. Nick approached WMD for advice on manufacturing, and as soon as we heard the sounds he was creating, we knew there was something special.

From there, the collaboration took off. We worked closely with Nick to refine the design, bringing in ideas to expand the feature set, streamline performance controls, and ensure the module would be rock-solid for production. The process has been as rewarding as the results: not only has Cosmic Debris grown into a truly versatile delay and reverb processor, but we’ve had the joy of building a deeper friendship through the design journey.

Cosmic Debris is a powerful delay and reverb engine built for modular explorers who want more than just echoes. With 16 interactive delay lines, multiple performance modes, and a design tuned for live use, Cosmic Debris can move from precise rhythmic repeats to infinite atmospheric washes in an instant.

At the core, Spray transforms traditional delay taps into massive ambient reverbs, while Scatter reshapes the feedback paths and interactions between lines to create ever-changing textures. Time and it's shift function SLEW take traditional modulation and flip it on its head with huge risers, crossfading delay time changes, and hands on control over the energy of the sound caught in the buffers.

A built-in band-pass filter lets you carve space in the mix or push the signal into motion with CV modulation.

Cosmic Debris is designed with performance at its heart. Blast delivers a momentary boost into the delay input as well as 100% send level (in send mode) for explosive bursts of sound with natural tails, while Send Mode turns the Mix control into a CV-controllable send/return level, perfect for insert-style processing.

Flexible sync options include clock input, tap tempo, or free-running mode, keeping you locked in rhythm or drifting into uncharted time. A dedicated Freeze function captures audio into a timeless loop, letting you hold textures indefinitely.

Three unique processing modes, Blur, Ratio, and Warp, expand the palette even further, from smearing reverbs to pitch-shifted delays. Combined with its intuitive interface and deep modulation capabilities, Cosmic Debris is equally at home in a live performance rack or a studio sound-design system."
